I was referred here by a server Brad from Duffys sports bar in Stuart Florida I absolutely love it here. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait it ended up being about 15 to be seated. our server was James he's THE BEST! our appetizer was served with in 5 minutes of ordering it, it was fantastic we had the ahi tuna. For dinner I had the ahi burger minus the bun it was fantastic as well and my dad had the grilled grouper the catch of the day. Both meals were exemplary I would recommend this resturant to everyone! This was my second time at this restaurant. The first time wowed me so I encouraged my family to join me this go round. We wanted to reservation by the water. Because of this we called since 10am the same day. We were told to call back several times since they only guarantee this for large parties (we had 11). After being told we would get this we we were good, until we got there. Despite calling ahead several times, the young lady at the front said we were inside. We advised that we called and were assured and outdoor seat. She had to go speak to someone who then came back and immediately said we can go back, it was ready. We were seated right next to a loud speaker in which there was trivia going on, we had no clue it was trivia night. Food took a while to come out but my "catch of the day- grouper" was exceptional. Highly recommended. The rest of family enjoyed their dinners with the exception of one who said the grouper he got was not well prepared. Our waitress was very good. Took very good care of us. Understanding of the kids needs and placing orders quickly. She even went down to the beach with us and took a group picture. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! The wait time for a table wasn't that bad. But our waiter (Scottie) was very dismissive towards our table. He never brought things we asked for. I understand that he might have been a little busy, but he didn't come back to check on our table for a good 45 mins after we finished our main courses. We split our table into two checks, and combined the tip onto one check. We left the table to go home for the night, and our waiter (Scottie),came to chase us down to say "Our tip was only enough for one check" and "we need to add more money to it". Now, I'm not complaining because of the money. I'm writing this review because of the disrespect that the waiter showed in front of other guest and in front of my family. Great location, at Ocean Beach Resort, with an ample free parking lot. The inside is a bit worn looking, but the real attraction is the outdoor seating area. It's large and mostly covered. The tables beyond the covering all have umbrellas. The beach and ocean are in view. The menu is reasonably varied and our meals were well prepared, tasty, and attractively displayed. A real authentic Florida place. Right on the ocean, if the wind is right, I'm sure the spray from the surf would hit you on the deck. My son, wife and baby were here for a visit and had been there before and were able to bring their dog. After driving for 40 min, they found out that pets were not allowed anymore. Thankfully it was not a real hot day so the dog stayed in the car. My husband and I had never been, so we decided to stay and give it a try. Sorry, we did. The food was not bad, but smoking is allowed outside and the place was packed! Definitely would not have stayed, if we knew that was the case! Sunday funday. Weather was really nice so we decided to head to Shuckers. We were greeted at the host stand and told to see the host outside. We were sat and we were super excited. It was not too cold. The wind guards were down but you could still see the water. It was just really pleasant. Sadly, we sat. Just sat. Minutes went by and nobody came over. There was servers at the bar. Two working by the door to the inside. Nobody for us. Bus boy cleaning tables. But no server for us. Close to ten minutes I'm thinking seriously, it's just not gonna happen. Somehow Jordyn saved the day. She was just as pleasant as the whether. I made a comment about our wait time and she assured us we'd be in good hands. Well, she didn't lie. We put in our order. She was attentive with a smile. The food exceeded my expectations. All the way around from two different kid meals and two different adult meals. My French Dip was a knockout. Wife's pear walnut salad was a hit, too. We went to Shucker's Wed. night for dinner. What a nice surprise when we found out they had a band called the "Dreamers" playing. The dinner was fabulous, and the big band sound of the "Dreamers"was excellent. They no doubt have the best Clam Chowder I have ever had. Good food and great atmosphere, right on the ocean. I have to say our experience at shuckers was less than optimal.. Granted we went on Mother's Day and were unaware it was buffet only. That alone was a great disappointment but it was also highly overpriced ($26 a person) and unimpressive! Very mediocre -the stuffed shells were not bad for what it is... Also an 18% gratuity was added (to our party of only 2) and the waitress literally didn't do anything for us! I think part was our fault for going on a holiday. read more

If you read nothing else, read the last paragraph. We had heard good things about this place but our experience was not good. When we first got there we were told the wait would be 25 minutes. Not bad for a Monday night at 7 on the island. As we walked back to the outside bar we passed several vacant tables. Outside there were several vacant tables as well. We chalked it up to staffing issues. It took 30-40 minutes to get our entrees and they came out 5-10 minutes apart so some folks were done before others started. The clam chowder was good. The conch chowder tasted as thought it came from a can. The seared tuna was good. The calamari was ok. Too much breading. Sadly it was not a good experience and tomorrow night we will go in to Jensen Beach or Stuart for some good food. To top it all off, my husband was pick pocketed by the outdoor bar. Sigh. read more

One of my favorite places is Jensen Beach. It was my go-to-place when I am in town and wanting to celebrate a special occasion with my family. Unfortunately, I just tried to make reservations for Father's day (a party of 22) and management said they do not take reservations. I can understand not taking reservations but on holidays it really is a good idea. The manager, Mike, was rude and made it clear he did not care about my concerns making sure that my party of 22 would be accommodated, in fact he stated that it doesn't matter they are busy regardless. The food was excellent. I had the corn and crab chowder. I have to say though I am utterly disappointed with the fact that I order a orange crush, and it arrived in a martini glass. I mention something about it and the waiter said that how it comes. When the bill arrived, I was charged $10 for the drink. We came here for a special lunch for my husband's birthday. He enjoyed his meal, I did not. I ordered Grouper Oscar. It was not quite warm when it came and had virtually no flavor. I was going to tell the waiter of my disappointment, but he never asked so I felt compelled to "state my case" here. This was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu and was recommended by our server. We are down here on vacation so wanted to experience a delicious meal of fresh fish.
