He had it for a while, God only knows what data base I'm now part of, but hey, great reviews, let's go. The guard gave my license back as well as a parking permit. Asked about the restaurant, he said drive to the stop sign and turn left. There's a row of shops and a Sauders sign. Did get a tiny bit confusing...none of the storefronts was Sauders. There was a dingy looking alley opening...found them. Walking down this dingy alley (there were three old window a/c units running up high, I mean old, tired, dirty and all three are dripping water into buckets below them on the concrete). We get to a tired residential screen door and that is the entrance. We were greeted right away. Said two for dinner. The hostess asked if we had reservations...we said no. We asked to sit inside. This is not the restaurants fault, but the marina is under construction, there are no docks or boats outside the windows, just rebar and dirt, however the windows and screens were dirty. There are dive bars and old restaurants with charm, Sauders is neither. Inside it just looks very tired and extremely dated You know how Restaurant Impossible or Bar Rescue showes usually start, with John Tapper and Robert Irving having a lot to say. They would have a lot to say at Sauder's. Carolyn, our server, lived up to the reviews that mention her. She was prompt, knew all the specials and did a good job throughout our meal. We ordered some Calemari. The batter was falling off, so if you tried to pick up a piece, you basically had a piece of squid. The marinara sauce was hot and had a good flavor. We had the shrimp linguine Alfredo. There were plenty of shrimp. Tha pasta was spaghetti, not linguine, but cooked properly. Could have had a little more sauce but tasted OK. The meal came with a salad. Everything was fresh, cold and crisp. Carolyn informed us the thousand island was made at the restaurant and it was OK. Summary...the food was ok, the dining room was tired, oh yeah, the rest rooms were behind doors rusting under their paint in that dingy alley and my wife said the one she went into was not nice. I honestly don't know how you could give this a 4 or 5 rating. If I knew what we were going to experience, I'd never give my driver's license to that guard and we would find another of the many seafood places in town. Sorry Sauder's, you need to make an investment in your business.

They do only serve beer and wine, and there tends to be a wait during peak hours. Parking is super easy in their lot. Let's start with one of their main attractions... Scampi! They have the best shrimp "scampi" - this is a dish of just shrimp (no pasta!!), served with an addictive white wine, garlic, lemon sauce and crusty bread for dipping. We always get this appetizer! I love their fresh catch options - usually at least 5-6 varieties of fish to choose from! Get it your way, grilled/blackened/fried/with sauce preparations, etc.! The meal comes with two sides and always hits the mark. I love to pick from the different preparation options! Their lobster bisque is dangerously good and they serve Sherry on the side which we love to add into our bisque! Their hush puppies are insanely good - they have no business being that delicious! It was nothing special, and the food was not great. It wasn't gross, but for the price and location, you'd think you would get something fresher. Six people for dinner: Three ordered the seafood cannelloni. First off, website price doesn't match what you are charged. Menu says lobster, crab, and shrimp seafood cannelloni. You basically get a bunch of bland cheese, with a hint of fishy every couple bites and out of three dinners, not one single identifiable piece of seafood. This meal was drowning in red sauce, and not even a 1 star. One ordered the coconut shrimp (my meal). I actually love the fresh made coconut shrimp at Outback. At shuckers, they bring it in frozen, it's tasteless, mostly breading, and has no coconut flavor. These coconut shrimp come to them frozen! OMG... the orange marmalade at outback is delish. Shuckers mixes orange marmalade into Mayo. Seriously? Several at the table tasted it and all gave a vomit expression. Just say no to this meal! One ordered the broiled scallops. With the exception of it being very cold, it was ok. One ordered the shrimp scampi. Nothing to write home about, but just average. Unfortunately, this meal arrived over 10 minutes after the other 5 meals. The bread rolls (again, not made at the restaurant), were hot and tasty. These were brought in frozen too, and just heated. With tip, our meal came to roughly $200.00. Normally I wouldn't say much, but the food really is sub par for what we paid. We're locals, but won't be returning. Our waitress was excellent. Shuckers in Jensen Beach offers one of the best oceanfront settings around. Sitting right on the beach, the open-air dining and sea breeze create a perfect atmosphere for a relaxed lunch. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were reasonable, especially given the prime location. The food, however, was just average. While everything was fine, nothing really stood out. The seafood was fresh but lacked the bold flavors or creativity that could have elevated the meal. It's a great spot for a casual lunch with a view, but if you're looking for something memorable in terms of cuisine, it may not be the first choice. That said, for a laid-back meal with a stunning backdrop, Shuckers delivers. Just don't expect to be wowed by the food. read more

We are regulars at Shuckers (Once a week) and last night we ordered takeout and we ordered our normal meals and even gave the waitress a 25% tip to come to find out that they forget to give us our salad and dressing. We order the Jack Daniels salmon on a regular basis and always receive the sauce on the side. Tonight they refused to give us that unless we pay $2.50. Very unfortunate the manager did not want to deal with the mistakes they made and refused to speak with us. Not one car was waiting for a meal when we received our food. We will no longer be going to Shuckers weekly and will be going to other restaurants. Glad they take customer service so well. read more

Have not been there in sometime but the food is really not the same anymore it's like the last time I went there it had the same cook that screwed it up 30 yrs ago and it was back and forth with the same attitude different time and again living on the island within the snow wiggers is getting monotonous and annoying with the fact that that they wreck the only 5 or so restaurants we have or the way out west outlaws come out here to perform grid lock and or whatever they want to be doing and it then becomes factory produced and pushed, overlooked and it becomes a big deal people are just not noticing these days! read more

Shuckers is tried and true. The service has always been impeccable. Yesterday, Gunnar was our server and he is a level above impeccable. He was friendly, polite, and super efficient without being overly familiar. Our food was delicious. I had the Grouper Reuben and it was terrific. Their iced tea is fresh and Gunnar kept it coming. Of course the view is spectacular. So many restaurants right on the beach have poor service or lousy food. That is not the case at Shuckers. As stated, the food and service are top notch. Don't hesitate to try it and ask for Gunnar to be your server. read more

Went with the family for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Was greeted pleasantly and our hostess let us choose our own seat outside. The view was fantastic, right on the ocean with waves breaking. The prices were very reasonable for a location right on the beach. We both had great breakfasts and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I have not been there for dinner in years and this was my first breakfast there. I will highly recommend to all my friends and family. Also, we will sure to try it for dinner. read more

The service was disappointing and the manager and the hosts were incompetent. I was very surprised at the lack of communication and lack of customer service. The manager even had the nerve to tell my mother you can go somewhere else. The food as usual was acceptable and at least the server was very polite and helpful she should have been the manager. Never go to schuckers for friendly and beautiful atmosphere not worth it. Plenty of other waterfront restaurants that are better. read more

Great food but best of was the really friendly and helpful staff especially Jerry. My kids and I had lunch at Shuckers and due to us not having a vehicle we had to walk a mile in the heat to get there. Jerry was so concerned and caring that he asked his boss to allow him to take us back to where we were staying. Thank you Jerry and the Shuckers staff you are the best. Shuckers is a great place to end up on a weekend afternoon at a the outside bar overlooking the ocean. The drinks are always great and the food, while a less formal offering than say Pietros, is very good. We have been a few times this season and have really enjoyed our time at Shuckers. read more

Hidden on a tiny road that runs amongst condos and nothing else, Tidehouse at first would seem like…read morean afterthought for the condo association. But, don't let that first impression fool you. THE AMBIANCE: Once you climb the stairs (yes they have an outdoor elevator), you'll enter a wide expanse of the St Lucie River with hundreds of boats at dock. The view is simply stunning. You can choose to sit inside (why you'd make this choice is beyond me), or if you like music, choose the active fun loving crowd on the patio bar or dine dockside where you'll have an expansive view of the river. We chose the latter. Either way, this is an experience dining unlike any other in the Stuart area. THE SERVICE: We were served by Anna. With a smile and a an enthusiasm that showed she loved her job, she explained a bit of the history of the restaurant and gave a thorough overview of the offerings. Anna was a servers server who knew when to stop by without being intrusive, when to fill our glasses and when to be there when we needed her. I'm not sure if all the serving staff are as good as Anna but, If you're lucky enough to get one of her tables count your blessings. Even the buss boys served with a smile and efficiency that you don't often see. On one occasion one of our party spilled catchup and asked for an additional napkin. The buss boy didn't go and tell the server (which is the norm) but instead "immediately" returned with a napkin and cleaned the spill himself. In today's "I hate my job" world, it was so nice to experience a time when staff served with a smile that conveyed "I love my job"! THE FOOD: For our appetiser, we chose to share a bowl of their Maryland Crab Soup. The menu states "Tomato broth, vegetables, crab meat". Doesn't sound like much, right? But, don't let that simple description fool you, this slightly spicy soup was a delicious meal in itself. I highly recommend you share a bowl if you intend to leave room for an entree. For our entrees, my lovely bride chose to start with the Tide Chopped Salad which features fresh greens, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, radish, and avocado, graced with an outstanding sherry vinaigrette. From there she chose the Steak and Shrimp combo which featured a 10oz NY Strip & 3 jumbo fried shrimp. She added the garlic mashed potatoes. Her mashed potatoes were scrumptious and her jumbo shrimp combined a crispy breadcrumb topping complimenting the juicy shrimp within. Tough and a bit grizzly, unfortunately, the steak was the outlier to the rest of the dish. I chose the Steak & Cake combo with coconut rice and macaroni and cheese sides. Because they're usually bread cakes with a few pieces of crab hidden throughout, I'm not usually a crab cake lover but, Anna Banana (her suggestion of a name) convinced me that, because the new owner came from Maryland and brought with him his family crab cake recipe, I needed to "experience" the best crab cake I'll ever have, and so, I took the plunge. Sadly, my steak was just as poor a cut of beef as my wife's but those crab cakes... oh those crab cakes were everything Anna Banana said, and than some! I've never had a crab cake that came close! The crab cakes come with a mustard base dipping sauce but, believe me, you'll not want to mar the perfection by dipping. My sides were also great. The coconut rice was not overpowering with just a hint of coconut as an aftertaste and my macaroni & cheese (which I don't usually order unless I have kids with me) was creamy and cheesy. For dessert, we decided to try the Key Lime pie. Not sure about the rest of the desserts but the Key Lime pie was a definite winner with just the right tartness resting on a tasty graham cracker crust (as a true Key Lime pie should have) and a wonderfully creamy texture. THE BOTTOM LINE: As with all my reviews the "customer so what" is would I come back? Even though I'd stay away from the steaks, you bet I'd come back! I would ask for the deck dining room, be seated in Anna "Bananas" serving area and make sure I included those out of this world crab cakes in my meal!

We live at the marina so the Tidehouse (or is it "House"??) is a go to for us. I say "House"…read morebecause the "Tide" sign on the water side is continually out! We've mentioned it to management several times however they seem surprised (& unconcerned) each time. Routinely the service is good, food is good....however they are not focused on customer service. They are often more concerned with closing the restaurant than providing great customer service as well as honoring their published hours. On more than one occasion, we have called to place a to go order and they have closed the kitchen early (after being told by the server, they would not close before 10p that Friday night). Also on more than one occasion, they have a bar full of people (wanting to stay, drink & spend more $$) and they bring the check to close the tab so the staff (or manager!) can leave. AND this all has happened during OFF SEASON! Being well educated in the hospitality industry, it's clear to me Tidehouse is not well run from the top down. This is unfortunate since it's such a perfect location with beautiful views.

The menu is pretty eclectic...quite a bit of sushi but fish and meat entrees as well. It is not inexpensive, but you don't mind paying extra for good food and a really good view. I do recommend the restaurant highly. It is beautiful, and the food that I had and that my friends had was very good.

We only had issues recently when we tried to order their prime rib special. Maybe don't order steak here - stick to the seafood (which is kind of like "duh" also, so that's in us). I really like the crunchy grouper. Lots of grouper Reuben fans in our family too. Also - The grouper parm has been a long time favorite in our family but they recently took it off the menu - it's on their online menu but not the printed menu. The chef was kind enough to make it last time but we really wished we they would add it back onto the menu.

THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

It's off season for Florida. I like that it's away from traffic and close to the river, but not on the river. We ordered several appetizers, Tuna stack, it was good with toast on the side. I would have preferred wonton chips or tortilla chips. We also had the crab fritters, these were delicious and plentiful for two people and the Burrata salad. We wanted the Brussels sprouts, but they were out so the chef prepared Bok Choi instead. Equally delicious. We ordered an infused cucumber refreshing cocktail. The service was very good. The owner stopped by our table, to ask how we liked it. He was gracious and told us his story how he bought the placed and design a menu along with the Chef. That was a plus. They also have music for dinner. Parking is street. The Tram goes around and it will leave you at this restaurant from the large parking lot. Please note there's a green market on Sunday's so the parking lot is usually full.

Customer service and professionalism really matter, and sadly this visit fell far below expectations

We also went there with a 11:00 am reservation when they opened for brunch, so we hadn't it the peak hours for another hour to 90 minutes.
