You can usually seat yourself, and the staff greets you promptly. They offer a full bar, house-brewed tea, rotating desserts, lunch and dinner options, and TVs with closed captioning so you can catch a game or trivia. Their seafood selection is excellent, with oysters and other items served fried, steamed, blackened, grilled, and more. They list the origin of their shrimp, clams, and oysters on the wall, and the chalkboard specials change depending on where the oysters were sourced that day. The "Greggah" lobster roll was perfection--a generous portion of chilled lobster in their signature sauce on a top-cut, buttery soft bun. The slaw served with it was creamy, cold, fresh, slightly sweet, and had the right tang. The sausage and potatoes side was one of the best staples from this restaurant group. A later snack of fried clam strips and fried oysters showed the same quality. Everything was freshly breaded, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and a house-made tartar sauce that was spot-on. Another visit included a house salad with homemade ranch and the double-decker crab cake sandwich--two fresh, in-house-made crab cakes stacked together with coleslaw on the side. It was outstanding. The restaurant has a cool set up and vibe. The staff were pleasant. My family and I were not impressed by the food taste and presentation. I had steam shrimp, Mac and cheese, corn, and slaw. The shrimp had the shell on them. Some of the shrimp were not deveined. The old bay seasoning was just dump on the outside of the shell. None of the shrimp were seasoned throughout. The corn was dry. The Mac and cheese were decent. The teas were so sweet I had to ask for water to dilute the tea. The others is my dinner party had similar grievances. The overall consensus of the group I was with was that we're not returning. I do not recommend for food however if you want a place for drinks, I think this place could satisfy that desire. read more

Very casual "beach bar" vibe. I came at about 4pm on a Monday so there were only a couple of other people but I can see this place getting busy during dinner. That being said, my server was very friendly and attentive! I ordered the Cappy's Roast and it was a good portion of food. I agree with others that the shrimp is not very flavorful. I do think the just boil it up and then season it after the fact. I found myself de-shelling them all first and adding Old Bay to them before eating them. The oysters were pretty good. Not top of the line but definitely passing and delicious. The corn on was NOT dry but also was not seasoned at all, nothing a little salt and melted butter couldn't fix. The drinks, on the other hand, were strong and super tasty. Definitely "bar" is their strong suit. The food is mediocre. If you are a Rocky Mount native, you already know this. If you are passing through Rocky Mount dine elsewhere. There was a disagreement between two customers sitting at the bar that escalated into a shouting match and name calling. The staff did nothing to deescalate the situation. I ate here with a friend on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty empty, maybe only 5 tables. Ambience was a typical bar feel, clean but pretty plain. The service was pretty good and the food was excellent! We shared the crab balls appetizer, which was ok. The sauce was very good. I had the shrimp and grits as my main and it was amazing. Really disappointed. The calamari pieces were so big making it extremely chewy. The fried oysters were tasty but very small and overcooked. Ughh I hate having to leave negative reviews. The food was mediocre at best. I paid $22 for a lobster roll. Nothing on it, they didn't even butter the bread. The oyster po'boy had barely any sauce and no toppings as well. And the country boil wasn't as great as I hoped it would be, as most country boils I have had in the past are just so good! I had hoped this would live up to those but it fell way below. Just very boring food. And $$$ I probably wouldn't come back just because of this experience. They wait staff was so nice! We've been to this restaurant in Topsail and it was great. Last night I went to the Rocky Mount location and while I love supporting growth in this city, I was disappointed. The oysters we had on the half shell had at least 4 baby crabs in them and it was not appetizing to see them moving! Check your oysters before serving! The manager said oh you should've let us know, we told our server several times and nothing was done. The steamer pot was not exciting at all, they didn't have clams and told us after the food came out. And the cold crab dip had a funny taste to it, my husband said he didn't notice it but I did. I'm hoping this is all due to being new and they will get better! read more

They were kind and took our drink order right away. They had a blackboard in the back listing where the oysters came from with prices and what their specials were.
