They used to be great. I initially found an amazing cleaner through them. But things have changed more recently. I had to get a new cleaner because mine went back to Mexico, and in that process I was told the cleaners do not take out the trash (that is extra). I've never heard of that before. This one star goes to the membership process for We Can Do It Women's Cooperative. Their zero-tolerance policy for lateness is enforced more strictly than accountability for damage done to a client's property. No matter how well the work is performed, it seems to matter less than minor timing issues. Even after paying half of the membership fee, there is no guarantee you will be accepted--you can be terminated at any time, and the Human Resources committee will not review or validate your case. Instead, they claim they don't "kick you out," but that you "kick yourself out." Regardless of years of membership or seniority, you can be let go as if your time and contributions never existed. The process feels competitive in the worst way, where undermining others seems encouraged just to survive. The priorities feel misplaced, making the overall experience frustrating and unfair. read more

After a really nice experience with our post-construction clean, we had a regular clean and it went well overall. One woman did break a glass item that we had in our bar area and the basement wasn't cleaned super thoroughly, but the overall clean was good and I like the idea of the cleaners getting paid 100 percent of charge. We tipped 20-25 percent each time. We tried to book them again recently and set up a schedule - it has been quite a while, and it is essentially impossible get someone on the phone and they pretty much never respond to emails. We wound up going with another cleaning service that has a last minute opening and had a great experience. read more

I have used other cleaners. When I do, I feel like I am cheating on my people. Because THIS crew always understands the assignment. For me, the cost is slightly higher than other places. BUT, they move the sofa, vacuum behind it, under the cushions, show up on time, and put in work. I do not even want to eat or breathe in my house after they clean it be so dang pretty. I got a deep clean and asked for my windows (they're pretty tall) and fridge to be deep cleaned. The quality of the work was incomparable to other services I've tried in NYC and for the price - it felt criminal to not tip 100% of the flat fee. I have a small one bedroom, one office apartment and have two cats. They cleaned out everything - even flipping cushions and the entire base of my couch upside down to vacuum it all, left all my appliances SHINING, cleaned out my cats automatic feeder dish (no one has done that before!!), and even cleaned out the inside of my appliances (which other places won't do!) Most of the other places charged by the item being cleaned - one charged a separate fee for cleaning walls but it didn't include dusting baseboards, that was another fee... (??). Another place quoted $600 (and also had add on prices for specific things.. meaning upwards of $700-800! For a small NY apartment!). I don't meant to harp on how others were bad, but it was just a relief to find something that was actually good after trying 3 other places and thinking I should've just saved my money lol. Here they were professional, they charge you fair (too low for the deep cleaning, I think) prices, and the flat fee means they stay as long as they need to in order to finish the ask. I signed up for recurring cleanings after this because it was clear that they are professionals and know how to tackle it. The worker that came to my place, Ms. Monica, was above and beyond and could easily charge double because of her skill. Last - a plus was that they wore a mask the entire time as a default - good for anyone immune-compromised that might need services, and the company is worker owned. I highly recommend and encourage tipping up to the price of any other service you tried that was worse and more expensive - Si Se Puede is doing what the other places are claiming to do. The Si Se Puede collective no call no showed to my confirmed cleaning time. After getting everything they requested ready and rearranging my schedule to be available it was really disappointing to not even get advanced notice of cancellation. I get the sense that they may be able to give great service if you can get them to show up, but no shows seem to be common. I wish I could endorse their services because I admire their business model, but they let me down. read more

This was the first time hire Si Se Pueda to clean 2 floors of our house. Two women arrived at 9 AM. Went to work on our kitchen with a 6 foot double oven commercial stove! Worked until almost 4. Offered to work until 8. I sent them home To return later. Kitchen, bathroom entire downstairs Is shining clean. They were just wonderful and tolerant of our 3 dogs. Can't say enough great things about this service. First off, the estimate would appear to be on the high side, but considering the time spent on the job, which in my case was 5 hours, I felt it was a great deal. They are punctual, organized, and the booking process is incredibly easy. You submit your housing situation or the size of the job, you hear back within 24 hours, and then a cleaning person is assigned to you. A list of supplies is recommended or you can let them know you don't have any of that stuff and they will provide for you. On the day of the cleaning, my assigned person was on time and communicated very clearly to me how long she would need. I was not initially prepared for a 5-hour job, but she insisted that because I was a first-time customer, she wanted to do as thorough of a job as possible, which leads me to my next point... My apartment was ***glistening*** when she was done. Glistening. Capital G. I am not someone who likes to clean, but it is obviously necessary, so hiring a service was a no-brainer and I do not regret my decision of reaching out to Si Se Puede. They are a woman-owned co-op (!) so it is money incredibly well spent. Oh, and she wore a mask the whole time, so they are COVID-conscience. Hire them today! read more

Out freaking standing. I've used MyClean (just OK) and Handy before finding Si Se Puede. I used myclean 2-3 times. All were just OK. The worst was that they sent me a TON of emails asking for feedback. I sent back detailed feedback of things I was unhappy with and they wrote back basically saying to pound sand - can't recommend that. Handy is hit or miss based on who you're assigned. I think of 5 cleanings, 2 were amazing, 3 were horrible. That's not a good track record. Plus, they barely pay their cleaners. Enter Si Se Puede. Holy. Crap. In what Handy would try to rush through in 3 hours with one person, SSP sent 2 people and they spent ~5 hours. I had to insist they were done so they could leave. They left my 2b/2br SPOTLESS. We SEARCHED for dirt after they left and it was impossible to find any. I love how easy it is to schedule. Call the office for your first visit. They send you a cleaner (and maybe a +1!) If you're satisfied, just text the main cleaner in the future to set a date. Rates stay the same! Things I love about SSP: * Of the cleaning services I've used (agencies like MyClean and Handy) this is BY FAR the best clean I've had. Nothing came close. * This blows my mind - this is CHEAPER than the other services. How? I don't know. I tip INSANELY well and it's STILL cheaper than the base rate of the other services. * My cleaner + helper keep all the money - they make a good living doing this -- and they freaking deserve to. They're pros far better at cleaning than I can do -- or that people signed up for the apps can pull off. My assigned cleaners are Tarsila and Anna. They are amazing. They are like family. After my first clean I just point out a few things that I'd like them to focus on, show them where cleaning supplies are and get out of their way. With ONE text to Tarsila I have an appointment locked in. They arrive early to stand around so they can ring my bell right on time - this is SO impressive. They don't rush, do an amazing job, and are well paid. What's not to love about Si Se Puede? I can not recommend them higher than I do. read more

I booked a cleaning 10 days ago and took the day off to ensure I would be available to let the cleaner in my apt. I got a confirmation email of my request after booking with a rep over the phone so that ensured me that all the details we discussed over the phone were correct. The day came for my cleaning and no one showed up! I called the office several times no one picked up. Extremely disappointed as a would be first time customer. My regular housekeeper got into an accident and couldnt come clean my apartment in Bed-Stuy. I came across this yelp listing and saw that it was women owned and that all proceeds go directly to the cleaner. The reservation was super easy and organized, they email you with all the details and instructions on how to safely have someone come to your house in a COVID world. I really appreciate that they give you your cleaner's contact before they come in case if your schedule changes. I was assigned to Maria and she was amazing. She came at 9AM and left at 4PM... she did such a spectacular job, going into every nook and cranny, and even organized my pantry shelf. She was so detailed and my apartment was looking spic and span! I really appreciate all the hard effort she took. One mishap was that I didn't mention it was a 2 bed / 2 bathroom duplex .. I don't know why on the reservation system it was put down as 1 bathroom, but Maria was able to stay an extra hour to clean the other bathroom. Definitely support this service!! read more

2 women presented late to our home this am. After a surveying our home they determined in a brief conversation between themselves that the job was too much for them! I offered to decrease the work for the same price but they still declined. Well, at least one person did. Not sure why? There were no surprises here. I had completed an on line survey of our home (# of bedroom and bathrooms etc.) and spoke to a representative on the phone about the job. I got a base estimate and understood that the price would /could be more. Initially they did not have a team but after being on a wait list for 2 days I was given an appointment. Yeah! Well, moving on. I will continue to seek a housekeeping service. Just a heads up to those of you like me who read and depend on these reviews. read more

I reached out to multiple cleaning services for my recent move. Si Se Puede has the most reasonable price and the most friendly customer service coordinator. I scheduled a move-in clean for our new apartment and a move-out clean for the old apartment. The move-in clean had some hiccups. The clean was scheduled to start at noon, I took a lunch break and went from West Village to UWS so I could give the cleaner directions. Unfortunately I waited passed 12:30pm and still Miriam the cleaner was a no show. Frustrated and couldn't reach the cleaner directly, I called their service number. Yamil was very apologetic and when I got back to work, she left a voicemail saying they couldn't reach the cleaner either, so they are sending two cleaners to make sure the clean takes place. It's not a simple "oops we are sorry", it's a "we understand the situation and we are making it right asap". Luckily somehow Miriam showed up later. But when I got home after work to check, there were spots that needed re-clean. Even when we completed the move, I found one closet had dusty layers. So if I had to rate based on this move-in clean, it'd be a 3.5. Now comes the move-out clean. Ricarda showed up right on time, she didn't speak much but got to work immediately. There were higher cabinets that were without reach, she improvised and put cloth on Swiffer so she could reach those spot. This is something Miriam failed to do during the move-in clean. Then 4 hours later, she transformed our apartment from a dusty mess to a shiny clean paradise. I couldn't ask for a better clean, and Ricarda was truly amazing. This is why I'm giving a 5 star review. I will definitely use their services again and recommend them to anyone that needs cleaning. read more

These are some of the hardest working women I have met. 2 people came and stayed over 7 hours cleaning a relatively large 3br, I thought it'd take only 4-5 hours max, but it was 9pm and I had to force them to go home!! Left over a 30% tip and had ordered them some pizza, it was so late- I had no idea they'd be there so long!! They really did a stellar job and taken such a heavy burden off my shoulders. Every nook and cranny is squeaky clean, no stone was left unturned, my oven looks brand spanking new, things I haven't had time to address are all taken care of, they even untangled and individually rolled up our mess of cords, beds are made, desks organized, even scattered dog toys were corralled!! Unbelievable amount of work these women did, I can't express how much I appreciate the care they put into the job. Above and beyond gold star work, truly. Worth every cent!! Tldr: save yourself the disappointment from Handy's slop, they can't even hold a candle to these ladies. read more

Si Se Puede is great. My partner and I have been using their services through Margarita for around 6 months now and we are so pleased. Margarita is so thorough, diligent, careful, and takes her time. Every time she comes she leaves the place looking like actual normal people live there, rather than the heathens we really are. I especially appreciate their social justice mission and the fact that they pay their cleaners a living wage. Anastasia Ochoa is a GIFT. My boyfriend and I are, you know, a littttle messy. Once a month Anastasia comes and does a thorough deep clean. We hired some wonderful women through Si Se Puede several times, and keep coming back. First they cleaned both our old and nee apartments during a move. Since they cleaned before we moved in and after we moved out there were no supplies, but when I let them know they brought everything they needed. For just a tiny bit extra they even cleaned a stove I thought would never look white again! Great! That experience was so positive I asked the woman to come back and clean our new apartment. Unfortunately she wasn't able to return due to a pregnancy, however she handed me off to another cleaner who has come a few times and done a really great job. They clean everything thoroughly and are eager for feedback if there's anything I want more cleaning or anything different. Always cheerful and very hard working. read more

It's possible I had a different team from the other reviewers, but I was unhappy with the cleaning I received last week. I booked a deep cleaning for my empty apartment prior to moving in. The service was expensive and overpriced for the service I actually received. I requested emphasis on the kitchen and bathrooms and was told they would do a deep clean. I had a hard time discerning what was actually cleaned, since the place did not look that different. They used a cleaning solution that left a white residue all over the wooden floors. I went back and had to re-clean a lot of it myself - especially the bathrooms. In one of the bathrooms, there was still very visible soap scum in the shower, which I had to clean off myself from the tiles and shower glass. When I cleaned the floors and bathroom sinks I found that I was picking up a lot of hairs, which would have been from the prior tenant. Of course this is disgusting, but I mention because I don't think I would be cleaning out all this dirt and debris if they had actually cleaned the bathrooms. I would not recommend this cleaning company. read more

I have never been that happy with the cleanings by the agencies, Minute Maids, since they tend to give a very light cleaning that isn't enough to keep your house clean over time.These guys really leave no stone unturned. I made an appointment via phone and the person who filled out my intake form was courteous, informative, and efficient. Moments later I received an email confirming my cleaning service, along with a checklist and quote of $100 for my 1 bedroom. Cleaning: Ricarda arrived right on time at 10 am and got down to business. She started with the kitchen and made her way around my apartment. (I had to be in for virtual meetings and she was extra thoughtful as I worked, but I didn't expect/need that to be the case.) In total she spent around ~6 hours cleaning every nook and cranny of my apartment -- including the top of my ceiling fans! I have to admit that at some point I was concerned as she did not take a break. I ended up ordering lunch and inviting her to eat with me as I don't believe she would have otherwise. Lovely lady. Post-cleaning: Excellent and thorough job! The price was exactly as quoted and I was very impressed with her attention to detail. My house was sparkling clean and I will be a repeat client. This isn't your typical Handy or Amazon cleaning service and it shows. For the price I paid, I was surprised at the length of time that Ricarda was here. This also included her travel time (1.5-2 hours via train as I'm in Queens) so I was sure to tip lavishly and encourage you to do the same as well. I love that it's a women-run business designed to create jobs and opportunities. Their pricing is transparent and 100% of it goes directly to the cleaner. The women who came to clean my parents' apartment were great, friendly and on time. They did a great job and brought all their own supplies I had requested. I was really happy with their service, I left them in the house for a little bit and when I came back they were listening to music while they cleaned but turned it off when I walked in, I told them there was no need to do that they could keep listening, I didn't mind at all. They insisted to keep it off, so I know they are high on customer service. Only thing that keeps me from giving the 5th star is when they were almost done I had noticed they didn't clean my staircase/entrance which I had specially put in the contract that I needed to be cleaned wasn't done. When I brought it up they both looked at me in a state of confusion so I said, you can just vacuum it at least if you guys need to leave. So they half assed it and didn't really clean it properly. It was like taking a shower and forgetting to wash your basically. Also there was no follow up after the women left, and I received a survey but no follow up from that either. read more

Really great experience so far. From the coordination team at the Co-op, to the coordination system, to the cleaners. The latter has been the most wonderful so far. There really isn't any words to describe Roberta and her graciousness, respect, and thorough af cleaning abilities. Our one bedroom is kinda big for nyc, and we don't do a great job at weekly cleaning, so the entire clean takes like 4-5 hours, which Roberta just plows through. Like I'm not kidding. I think I've literally seen objects of mine that aren't even of material that can sparkle, sparkle. Odulia occasionally joins her, especially if the clean is scheduled for late in the day, so they can finish up before nighttime. Odulia is just as wonderful and brings buena onda vibes like Roberta. My only suggestion for the Co-op would be, if they hadn't already entertained it is, maybe try to find a way to set prices higher for first time cleans or apts that haven't been cleaned in over a month or post- party cleans, bc they are usually more labor intensive. I know that prolly involves relying on customers' integrity to be honest, but I'd think Si Se Puede clientele would be slightly more ethical than the average new yorker. Maybe there could be literature on the website or email or a phone call to encourage customers to increase their tip if their place is moderately to very dirty. $100 plus tip for a thorough clean of a moderately dirty one bedroom I don't think does justice for the majestic quality and laborious effort Roberta has done. Don't use Handy just because it's slightly more convenient than making one phonecall -- this is a woman-owned, member-owned service, meaning you're directly hiring your cleaner. Nicolasa has been a life-saver for us since 2017, with cleanings about once a month. My apartment has never been this clean, and AFAIK she doesn't judge me for all the cat hair. Her first visit I had to ask her several times to stop cleaning because she'd been working too long & I felt terrible. You provide the supplies (there's a list on the site, all nontoxic/Vinegar) and arrange your own services directly via text after your initial pairing and quote. read more
