We've been driving by watching for the opening of this new Thai restaurant which was replacing the former Celadon Thai restaurant. This Thursday evening the stars aligned in our favor as our first choice to have dinner had too long of a wait to get a table. Arriving about 6:45 pm there was no problem being seated. While they had a grand opening sign displayed outside we understood from our server that they had been open for about two weeks. The best part of our experience was the food. I'll mention the just opening jitters that still need attention later. Two in our party of three ordered hot green tea ($2 each) while we studied the menu. I ordered Thai iced tea ($4), always a favorite of mine. The green tea is the bagged variety and our server returned with more hot water to freshen the cups about halfway through our meals. I thought my Thai iced tea could have had more tea and less dairy, but that's a preference that I experience at many Thai restaurants. We started with an order of Lemongrass Dumplings ($12) to share. The six dumplings were served piping hot with golden brown seared bottoms. The very flavorful mixture of vegetables and lemongrass was a real hit for all three of us. My wife ordered the Thai Som Tum ($13). On the menu this was the only dish that included a statement "Ask us for employee yummy versions." Our server explained that this was to allow the customer to specify how spicy they preferred to have the dish prepared. My wife specified mild. When it was served I tasted it and warned my wife that it was very spicy. We both enjoy spicy food and are accustomed to it; so, this was not a case of a couple of wimps unable to withstand the heat. Otherwise, the vegetables were fresh and all the ingredients were very flavorful. Our dining companion ordered the Steamed Fish with Ginger ($19) - tilapia with ginger, scallions, and cilantro in a light soy-based broth and a splash of hot oil. He exclaimed without anyone even asking, that the preparation was quite good. As a sucker for wide noodles, my choice was Lahd Nad ($19), a popular Thai Chinese comfort preparation with broccoli and carrot added to the noodles along with a thick gravy. I added pork as my choice of protein. The pork was tasty and tender, the gravy was flavorful, although not thick, the noodles were very slippery as expected, and I enjoyed my meal even more after I started using my spoon in addition to my fork. Speaking of the utensils, it was intriguing to see they were gold colored when slid out of their paper holder. So, what were the opening glitches that still could use some attention? The amount of time we waited for our server to take our order seemed unreasonable since there was only one other customer in the restaurant and he arrived after us. After our appetizer was served the three main courses came out one at a time with several minutes between each dish. While there was the issue of the Thai Som Tum being served very spicy when our receipt showed that the order was submitted as "not spicy," no one else at our table was ever asked how spicy they wanted their dish prepared, or informed if that was even an option. Again, reviewing our receipt after dinner we noticed that each entrée had been submitted as "not spicy." Ending on a positive note, our server was pleasant enough and the ambiance was warm and inviting. They may be awaiting some type of alcohol license for the bar area with about eight stools.

Veggie summer rolls. Homemade peanut and chili Thai sweet sauce. Not bad. Very fresh.

I dropped in for some "to go" food during their soft opening - and we'll be back. Totally good, nice people, very enjoyable.

I've been to one of their many locations in Boston and it has always been amazing. It's not a fancy establishment, but very clean and there are but a few tables. It's no concern though because they're made to order fried chicken as well as custom bowls will blow you away! The staff here will guide you through their menu of sauces and options if you are stumped... They're made to order fried chicken in every imaginable flavor, whether next level spicy, or somewhere in between with hints of sweetness will have you hooked! If you crave fried chicken in every flavor possible, your taste buds will thank you. Additionally who can resist sides such as fried cheese sticks, onion rings, steamed rice and the list goes on! You can order ahead online or simply pop in. I guarantee that it will be worth the wait. And besides they are located in a small shopping center if you really can't be tied down for 15-20 minutes... I highly recommend and I will be here regularly whenever I have a hankering for delicious Korean fried chicken. Totally worth it and check out their website ahead of time! Sure, some may think that they are paying a bit more for what comes across as fast food but trust me tis worth every penny. If you crave delicious fried chicken that meets your every expectation, you will gladly make this purchase. This chicken is moist, crisp and flavorful and beyond. You will never look back on any other place where you've ordered chicken to go as you will be back again and again. Whether you're a fan of wings, fried chicken pieces or incredibly moist and tasty boneless white meat fried chicken, this is the place to go! One taste and you will never look back.

We went the first time because it was one of those days, and our non-vegetarian kid was desperate to eat and we were in the neighborhood. So while he chowed down on the pork sandwich platter (which was, he reported, excellent, and I can tell you the aroma made my mouth water), we split one of each non-meat side available. Chips, Potato Salad, Mac and Cheese, the Japanese eggplant, and the Kimchi Coleslaw. (I think we passed on the beans because they had pork in them.) They were FABULOUS! I mean, I've had plenty of BBQ sides in my time, back when we were carnivores, and I've tried them all. I can think of maybe two or three others that were the equals here, but for a limited run of options, it was non-pareil. It kind of makes me wish they'd put their minds to a veggie sandwich, the name of the place notwithstanding. They do the maillard reaction proud. One tiny tip for the owners: "Reuben" is misspelled on your menu.

When I…read moregoogled, "good cheap eats in Schenectady," the 20 North Broadway Tavern topped the short list. Done. It was an instant hit. I wanted the pastrami sandwich pictured on the website. Turns out, it was every bit as good as it looked. Probably the best I've had in the Capital Region. I think it came with coleslaw but they let me switch it for a small salad. The beer was cold. The server/ bartender was both friendly and efficient. The food came up relatively quickly. I was relieved and delighted. The tavern has just the right look. It's cute from the outside with nice signage. Inside, the lighting is dim-- especially at night--with the feel of a cool dive bar. If you want a more festive setting during the summer, there's outdoor seating complete with hanging string lights. That actually looked very inviting but my friends chose to stay indoors due to the threat of rain. As we prepared to leave, my friends were wondering why they hadn't been to the tavern before. One thing for sure is that we'll be back for more "good cheap eats" and great beer.
