I came here for an event in the summer and sat outside. I was helped right away I started off with their coconut soup and it was perfect I love that I can taste the Thai basil in the soup. For my entree I order the fried duck and this meal changed my idea of how true duck should be cooked. It was tender and so crispy. The house made sauce topped it off, and of course you have to have your veggies

I had to mark another Thai spot off my list! The Angry Dragon roll was so good! The eggplant stir fry was so delicious and not something I would typically order. The pad see ewe was just ok. Very bland. The inside of the restaurant was so cute, and had great views. The service was very good. Although, my friend's car got towed and the tow guy had came into the restaurant to see if it was anyone's car and she never checked with us. All and all it was an entertaining lunch.

Shrimp pad thai. Why are my noodles cut??

The food was good, but why are my noodles cut and not whole? I've never had pad thai with cut noodles. And I didn't get any chop sticks. Please do better. I won't return.

Teak is in a very convenient location in the OTR, directly across the street from Washington Park. We went on a late Friday afternoon and found parking easily. When we arrived, I asked for a seat by the window and the hostess let us choose whichever table we preferred. The restaurant is cute and modern with a lot of natural light. I explained to the server that I prefer a sweeter cocktail and asked for her recommendation. She suggested the Thai Island, which sounded on the sweet side in the description, so I ordered that. I don't know if it's always this way but it was so tart I couldn't drink it, but our server brought a side of simple syrup for me to add and that did the trick. We ordered an app to share and then each got main dishes. I had the Thai style cashew chicken, which was good but not great. I do have to say that the prices were very reasonable for what we got.

On this night, Teak batted 1000. Everything was absolutely delicious and our server was theeeee best! I opted for the Pad See Ew noodle dish, #8 spicy and my usual spring rolls. My friend ordered the Sunday Roll and Crab Puffs. Our food was piping hot and mega enjoyable. Additionally, I love Teak's OTR location, directly across from Washington Park because scene is always lively. We had reservations immediately after dinner at a nearby spot, which happened to be only a few blocks away. The night was perfect in every way.

The food is quite mid. The place is average. Our server was friendly but didn't feel like she knew much about the menu.

My husband and I grabbed dinner at Teak when we came downtown for Blink 2024. Our server was extremely sweet and polite, and despite being extremely busy, we received our drinks and food pretty fast. For an appetizer, we shared the Crab Puffs, which were out of this world! Such great flavor, and the sauce that came with it was the perfect complement. For my entree, I ordered Pad Thai with Shrimp, and my husband ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. Both dishes were excellent. (I, of course, had to try my husband's rice.) And, finally, the ambiance is cozy, even though it can become quite loud at times. If you enjoy Thai cuisine, I highly recommend Teak! Bon Appétit!

Crispy duck. As you can see very crispy and tasty but no heat

First time in we enjoyed a nice cocktail and dinner. We started with the pork dim sum and I had the crispy duck. I ordered it 8 out of 10 and the waiter acted like I was crazy. The duck was very crispy but the heat was just not there I had my wife try a bite and she agreed not at all spicy. Nice service and the food was good

Small place next to OTR with a full bar, sake, fresh seafood dishes. Pictured is the seafood hot pot, enough for 2 people, and we had leftovers! Potstickers and dumpling appetizers were good. Would come back for semi casual Thai dining.

This place was buzzing when we stopped by. Sushi tasted fresh. Really good selections of drinks. My Pad Thai was OK though

Super good food with fast service and friendly staff. The food came out super fast. Entrees are big enough to share if you get some appetizers. Everything was tastey and fresh. Restaurant is light and airy. Chill vibe for casual dinning. Would come again. Lettuce wraps were great. Dim sum dumplings were fried. Wonton soup was perfect for the cold weather. We shared the pad thai and it was plenty. Sweet taste!

I visited during a business trip with a colleague who was local to the area. She recommended Teak as a great place for Thai food. She was spot on!! We stopped there for lunch. Nokki was our server and was very attentive. My colleague had the chicken with coconut milk soup along with chicken pad thai. She ended up taking most of it home. A great value at $11. I had the seafood delight which came with shrimp, salmon, imitation crab and mussels. It was also delicious. At a heat of 6 or 7, not too spicy either. There were lots of fresh vegetables which I mixed with the white rice on the side. Very satisfying. I now have a new "go to" place for lunch and dinner.

Ask the Community - Teak OTR

Do they take reservations? What's the typical wait for a table on a Saturday evening?

They do take reservations. Without reservation I think the wait can be up to 2 hours prime time 6-8 pm, depending on the foot traffic.

    Are there any vegan options?

Yes. Thanks for asking. We have many vegan and vegetarian options on our menu.

Is this Teak location associated with the former Mt.Adams location?

It is. Can find an article here. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cincinnati.com/amp/5414850002

Is there half price sushi? I called to ask because it states it on the menu on page 2, but was told there is no half price sushi on the phone.

Hi Sydney. We will roll out a half price sushi promo at some point in the near future but have not yet. This was placed on the website in error and is being addressed. Thank you for pointing this out and please follow us on our Facebook page…

The service was impeccable and they were so knowledgeable about every fish and all the prep into it. The ambiance was interesting, we had a girl begging for soy sauce and the chef just gave her salt. Was kinda funny to watch but made a little bit of tension. I think the chef handled it in a mature manner, the customer was clearly drunk or something and was not happy with their experience. Like I said this puts all other sushi in a lower classification. So much effort and thought into everything.

I went to the Thursday 5:00 p.m. seating, and I know I got lucky getting a reservation. I logged on…read morearound 7:00 that morning to book, and I was able to get one on my first try. Several people in my group said they'd tried multiple times without any luck. From what I've heard, Thursday at 5:00 is one of the easier reservations to get, because the Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. seatings disappear almost instantly. I've had sushi all over the country (although not all over the world), and this was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. The quality of the fish is incredible--they fly it in from Japan--and every course was beautifully presented. The pairings the chef came up with were amazing and really let the fish shine. The menu changes every day and every season, so you'll never have the exact same experience twice. One of my favorite surprises was the miso soup. The chef explained that the broth is made using the bones from the fish we were eating that evening, and it was honestly one of the best bowls of miso soup I've ever had. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a simple printed menu with the names of each course and maybe a few notes about the ingredients. The chef explains every course, but there are so many Japanese names and details that it's hard to remember everything by the time you leave. I would have loved something to take notes on or even just glance at while he was talking. The only other thing I noticed was that the ending felt just a little rushed. There are seatings at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00, and by the end of our meal the next group was already waiting in the entryway. It wasn't a big deal, but it was noticeable. The experience is $115 per person, and the required 20% gratuity is paid when you make the reservation. You can also order alcoholic drinks during dinner. At the end, the chef offers an optional add-on (ours was either a $30 bowl or a $12 roll). I skipped it because it featured a type of fish that usually isn't my favorite, but after seeing what the chef did with everything else, I was honestly tempted to give it a try. Maybe next time. This was one of those meals that you keep thinking about long after it's over. Everything was thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it's the best sushi I've ever had, and I'd love to come back every season to see how the menu changes.

We were aiming for dim sum a couple doors down, but they were slammed and had no out of the way place to wait. So, we walked a few yards and went into Kawa. Tablets are used to order appetizers, drinks, etc. All delivered by a robot or a train on a track above the conveyor. The sushi itself, along with other items like dessert, rolls by constantly. The best part, pricing is clear. Everything on the belt is $3.45 per plate, subject to change, of course. The sushi was fresh and the portions were in line with the prices. If you've never had conveyor belt sushi or you just want to try something a little unique to the Cincinnati area, Kawa is the place.
