My wife and I tried Siam Paragon one night based on Yelp reviews. As usual, the yelp reviews did not disappoint. First off, the food was delicious. I had a chicken curry with brown rice and my wife had a veggie and tofu dish which she loved. Prices were reasonable and service was fast and friendly. But there's one thing where they went above and beyond. In the middle of dinner, I realized I had an 8pm zoom call that was just 15 minutes away from occurring. I started downloading zoom on my iphone, but cell service meant it wouldn't download in time. I asked if I could connect to Siam Paragon's wifi (not publicly available) so I could download zoom and the kind folks at Siam hooked me up. That was very nice of them. I finally got to visit this restaurant again. Guess what... they had silverware this time! We had the papaya salad, 2 apps, and the panang curry. First, the curry was absolutely delicious. I was shocked. Our papaya salad was coated in fish sauce and left a horrible taste in our mouths. Not the place for papaya salad. The apps were great and we were blown away by the panang curry. Seriously good. The service was extremely slow. Just to pay took over 15 minutes. Unacceptable in such a small establishment. This place does a lot of take out, perhaps that's all they want to do. Wonderful! We started with the Vegetable Rolls that were utterly delicious. They are crispy fresh vegetables tucked into a delicate leaf. I actually went to this place again for the second time over the weekend. I was actually surprised to see how busy they get on the weekends. They had a wait time of 2 hours for take out orders. So we waited, idk if it tasted better cause I was starving or it was actually good but I genuinely enjoyed it compared to the first time I went. The kids who work there are very kind so 10/10 for customer service. My recommendation is that if you go on weekends and plan on getting take out, call ahead of time before heading to the restaurant so you don't have to wait too long. The best Thai food I have had locally. I have never been to Thailand and can't comment on authenticity but the food is credibly spicy with heat while retaining vibrant flavor. I eat here regularly and have not found a dud on the menu, but highly recommend any of the duck, noodle, or curry dishes. The papaya salad is a winner as well. I was in a party of 8 who went there for dinner. The menu offered many fine choices and everyone agreed that the meals were delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not due to being understaffed with very friendly, but untrained waitresses. When the meals came out, they had no idea who ordered what. When 5 of the 8 meals were finally sorted out, no silverware was provided after several requests. We were finally told they had more business than expected and ran out of clean dinnerware. Stopped by for dinner on a weeknight with a coworker. Strip mall location with a strip mall feel inside, they could def make the place more inviting inside but the staff was pleasant. Started with the veggie rolls with peanut sauce which tasted fresh and had a nice crunch. Peanut sauce was standard. I had the drunken noodles with tofu. The noodles were tasty and sucked up a lot of sauce which made them tastier. Tofu was ok, tasted a little stale to me. Veggies were pretty good but they used lettuce instead of cabbage and the lettuce doesn't pair well with the depth of the dish. Really this is a 3.5 and purely based on my single order of chicken drunken noodles. The drunken noodles were too sweet and the recipe is heavy on fish sauce. Not a lot of vegetables either, just some onions and bean sprouts, all of which were overcooked. I probably won't order the drunken noodles again. A note on the spice of 'very hot' was that it wasn't that hot. If you want heat, go to Thai hot. read more

I ordered this on my lunch break and it took about 25 minutes to be ready. I ordered the Drunken Noodle and it did not disappoint. It was full of flavor, and the veggies were not over cooked and still had some bite(which I prefer). I ate it so fast that I didn't take a picture lol. We frequently order Siam Paragon for pickup and also through UberEats! The hostess is always very accommodating over the phone as we do have several modifications for our order sometimes, which is much appreciated. They are able to make many of their items vegan (no fish or oyster sauce). We typically order the Tofu Cashew and Drunken Noodles, both of which are quite tasty. Specifically, the cashew curry is always flavorful and has a good quantity of veggies and the drunken noodles are always really pleasantly chewy, slightly spicy, and overall satisfying. It's always hard for me to eat Asian food since I have such high expectations being Chinese. I really do wish that Yelp has half stars... not quite a 4 but close for Thai food. Richmond, VA is definitely not know for Asian food... the best around here is still Peter Chang's in my mind if you like Szechuan (spicy) food... Vietnamese and Korean is okay...definitely not as good as what asian food you can get in Northern VA. Thai is probably the most consistent though. When we used to live downtown 10 years ago we were semi regulars of Mom Siam's in the fan area. When we moved to the south side 9 years ago we were determined to find some good go to Asian places... being Chinese I do crave Asian food frequently. Siam Paragon used to be on Midlothian turnpike closer to the richmond side, before they moved to the Midlothian side a few years ago. The atmosphere is nice ... typical Asian restaurant. We like to eat there or take carry out. Tonight we decided to take carry out. I do have to point out that even though portions are big and we always have leftovers... believe it or not. portions to go are even larger! I think I get 3 meals out of it as opposed to 2 if I ate there. We've tested this theory on multiple occasions. Regardless the food is good. We usually get Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai or Panang Chicken. We usually request the "Hot" spice level which is one below the "Thai" hot. We used to get "Thai" hot sporadically until one time both my husband and I got Drunken Noodles as "Thai" hot and we were literally sweating as we ate it at the restaurant. We had a lot of leftovers that night but surprisingly it wasn't as flaming hot after a couple days. Regardless we have learned and stick to "Hot". Lately I've been requesting the Pad Thai with hot sauce on the side so my daughter can eat it too, so that's nice because I can add as much Thai hot sauce as I want to increase the spice level. P.S. Drunken Noodles request it without Lettuce and Tomatoes... as Chinese I never understood why they do that as it adds nothing except sogginess... maybe they are trying to add color but I would suggest you skip that... especially if you have it for leftovers. The Calamari is pretty good but don't expect Italian restaurant portions... as they only provide you larger Calamari rings. Mango Sticky Rice is also pretty good... but we don't get that often. Anyway a great go to for a low key dinner out or dinner in. We've never had to wait for a table on a weekend. read more

Came here with my girlfriend and her brother last night. They live in the area and decided they wanted me to try out the place because they like it a lot. For appetizers we ordered the calamari and the pork dumplings. Both apps tasted really good, there just wasn't enough sweet and sour with the calamari but it was still delightful. For our mains, my girlfriend and I ordered the drunken noodles and her brother ordered the chicken fried rice. All of our food was really good. The menu tells you that the drunken noodles are served "hot" on their spice scale, which also has extra hot and Thai hot so my girlfriend and I ordered our dishes extra hot but the madmen in the kitchen sent the noodles out extremely spicy. It was painful to eat but the food itself tasted so good. The only thing I didn't like about my dish is that they serve the drunken noodles on a bed of lettuce which makes no sense whatsoever. I'll definitely be back to this place but I'm not messing with the spicyness of their dishes. Their service was also very good. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of is the restaurant itself. The place is just a large room with a red carpet and some tables randomly placed here and there. Either way I highly recommend trying this place out if you're in the area. read more
