Here's a stronger version that clearly explains why you were disappointed: I ordered the summer rolls, and what I received looked nothing like the photos. The picture showed three full shrimp, but my rolls had just one shrimp cut in half. The rest of the roll was mostly lettuce. It was incredibly disappointing and felt very misleading. The red curry was okay, but the summer rolls were a complete letdown. I feel like I was scammed based on what was advertised versus what I actually received. My boyfriend had the iThaiz fried rice with chicken and we didn't expect it to come deconstructed but combined it was great but next day it was even better. Both were very good and the ingredients were very fresh! The price was comparable to others that I have had. My husband had the pepper steak and it was absolutely amazing! We would order again without hesitation. I had the chicken pad Thai and I am beyond excited! The noodles, flavor and sauce was spot on! I will never be going back to the Thai restaurant that I used to go to. This Pad Thai was everything Pad Thai should be and it was a size good portion. About the menu.... The first thing I look at is the number of items.... A high number of items makes me question quality. This menu was not small, but not overwhelmingly large. Atmosphere: they are in an older shopping center but the inside has an upscale and inviting feel. However it's not so fancy that you can't come dressed down or up. We are huge fans! Can't wait to be back and so glad we have an amazing Thai place so close to home! Update: We have already been back twice and I have brought a co-worker! We tried the Chicken Satay appetizer which included 4 skewers and a separate dish with the dipping sauce. I had the Chicken Pad Thai lunch bowl and my friend had the Shrimp Pad Thai. We both chose the mild-medium spice level. It had a slight kick, but it didn't burn. Everything was very flavorful. The portions were good sized. Our server was very helpful with her suggestions. I really like this place. I've only been to a handful of Thai restaurants so I can't compare the intricacies of Thai cuisine. I get pad Thai, curry, or drunken noodles. This place is my favorite for drunken noodles. They are full of veggies that taste fresh, the noodles are wide and the spice is accurate to order (mild, medium, etc.). I hate writing reviews like this because I remember when this restaurant first opened and they were to die for. Went with a group of friends tonight and it was disappointing. The Pad See Eww was bland and the Crispy Basil duck had all the dried basil put on top, it use to be mixed in so you wasn't just chewing dried basil. A friend ordered her dish Mild and it was so spicy she had to send it back, when it came back it was so salty she couldn't eat it. The most upsetting thing for me was the Caramel Cheesecake. When I say this use to be the only cheesecake I would eat I mean it. We got the cheese cake to go and when we got home I tried mine and it was room temp and had soured. Conveniently located, looks cute, but service depends on who's working that day or night. My husband and I went; I got red curry while he got the Thai fried rice. My red curry tasted too salty and had a distinct smell of sink water oddly. I had to add sugar into my red curry to even out the saltiness. The Thai fried rice was delicious and highly recommend it. For a dessert, we got the caramel drizzled churos. Sounds good, but they were overcooked and ended up being really hard to bite into. As for the service, I had a really nice waitress while the person working the register didn't greet us or seem to care about getting us a table when we first entered. Be prepared for some sub-par service if you dine here. Price was on the higher end for what they're serving, especially for the quality. I remember when this place opened, I went multiple times back in the day, but when I moved back to Richmond and tried it again, I was pretty badly disappointed. The space still feels very unfinished, which was charming as a new restaurant that was still finding its feet but now just looks like they don't care enough to finish the decor. And perhaps they don't. My food was not as good as it used to be. Everything was oversalted badly and my Crying Tiger was soggy and grey. Spreading some gratitude to this spot. I'm shocked I haven't written a review for this place because I order from them atleast 3x a month. I'm thankful for iThaiz because they've filled my belly many times with delicious cuisine. My go to will always be their Panang curry with chicken. I've ordered it every time but never taken pictures. The only photos I have here are the steamed dumplings, Pad Thai which is another favorite and the coconut soup with chicken. I've never eaten in, but as an Uber driver, I pick up here a lot! It says something folks. If you're a fan of Thai and haven't ordered from here or event dined in, now is the time! Our favorite Thai place is almost 30 minutes away so I am so glad we found a delicious place closer to our home! The panang curry was slightly sweet and full of coconut flavor and the spring rolls were crispy. Make sure to get your items mild if you don't like heat - even the medium spice had a lot of heat! Great service and the restaurant was clean and well stocked with hand sanitizer. Although they were out of a lot of things (they only had one asian beer and one flavor of ice cream) they made sure to make recommendations and were very apologetic. The menu is very, very extensive so there's something for everyone. They seem to be very popular for take-out but have plenty of tables inside and a cute little patio with a table and lights outside. The worst Thai food I have ever had. Tofu was super watery. Pad Thai was super greasy but also bland. Bangcock chicken portion was super small, and pineapple fried rice was also bland. Guy in the front of the restaurant was super rude. Said they put a sauce in my bag and when I realized they didn't, went back in and asked for it and he got the wrong sauce and rolled his eyes. I can't say much else than they were delicious and just what I expected. The only thing I didn't love actually was my yum yum noodles with tofu. My tofu was amazing and don't get me wrong overall it was still good. It just wasn't love like I had for everything else we ordered. But their curries are awesome and this is like the 4th time I've been here. And the mango sticky rice - always my favorite. And I think the heart shaped rice they do is adorable. Everything was packed well and arrived in great shape. They included chopsticks with the order. The basil fries were sweet and sticky and topped with fried basil. I hadn't had anything like those before, and they were delicious. The curry and spicy basil were delicious, the rice perfectly cooked. The sticky rice was great, the mango ripe. We all enjoyed everything. We will definitely be ordering again from this place, and we will go in person as well. As for delivery, we could not ask for a better experience. I went to the restaurant a week ago. Set a reminder to write a review. iThaiz restaurant is in a shopping center with the Food Lion on the other end. The light is under construction but it's easy to navigate through the parking lot. I ordered by telephone, the website is down. I ordered my food during the dinner rush and they told me that it would be 30 minutes. When I arrived at the restaurant, it took 55 minutes to get my food. There are places to sit for waiting customers. And a small dining room, dimly lit. I ordered pad Thai my daughter ordered drunken noodle. We ordered other appetizers. Egg rolls. Long story short, it was a $60 order, including the tip. My daughter didn't like her food. She said it was a texture thing for her, not so much the taste. I ordered pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. I had to hunt for both the chicken and had 5 shrimp in this order. I asked for medium heat, and the food was so hot that the taste was negligible.. They put the l extra sauce that I asked for Iguess it's tamarind sauce. After waiting in front of the store lobby for 10 minutes, I asked the man if a meal had been placed on the table was mine. He checked it and told me that it was not mine. The man never greeted the customers that were waiting on orders or asked our names. He virtually ignored us while he went back-and-forth from the kitchen to the restaurant floor, I can appreciate being proud and busy, but I also know value of appreciating your customers. When my order was finally done, he gave it to me and looked away. He didn't say thank you for waiting. He didn't acknowledge me as a customer.. when I got to the car and set the order in my car, I realized that it had not only run down the front of my pants and shirt, but the sauce in the order order has also run all over the car. I had to go back into the restaurant. I told the man what happened. He just looked at me and didn't asked him for a couple of bags and some paper towels. He gave me one bag and two paper towels. I re-bagged the food with the paper towels inside to absorb any further spills, he didn't say I'm sorry, I should've packed that better, kiss my ass, nothing!! the weather is in excess of 90° and I have to get my car details because I don't want it to smell like dead Thai food. I would like someone to address this behavior with him because he acts like the customers are not valued at the business. read more

We recently got iThaiz delivered and overall had a solid experience. We ordered the Drunken Noodles, Veggie Cashew, and Green Curry with a side of extra rice. What I appreciated most of all was how patiently the restaurant accommodated our special requests (no fish/oyster sauce, no mushroom) over the phone. This made the experience much more comfortable and we felt confident and taken care of! However, when the food arrived, the portion sizes were much smaller than expected for the price - my family eats Thai food regularly from different restaurants and we felt the quantity of rice and veggies was less than we typically find. The Green Curry was tasty and had a strong ginger flavor and lots of fried tofu which I liked. However, the Drunken Noodles and Veggie Cashew curry fell short in flavor; the noodles were also mushed together a bit which made it feel like eating clumpy cooked rice. Overall the service was wonderful and the food decent - if we eat here again we'd definitely dine-in instead of delivery to see if that makes a difference in the flavor/food. read more

A really cute little restaurant hidden in a shopping strip. This has been our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. They celebrate holidays with menu specials and decor ( the only negative side of this is the Halloween slasher decor so we don't go to eat in fall because bloody looking sheer decor is not appetizing) but the other holidays are well designed with corresponding dish specials. Great selections of appetizers including our favorite pot stickers in a red curry sauce. Service is usually really quick which is great esp when hungry ! They have now added an outside patio section with nice planters/fencing etc They have plenty of wine and beer selections but didn't see any drinks on the menu that were non-alcoholic read more

The Spicy Crispy Chicken Ramen was a little bit too sweet for me, but I think that's how its supposed to be. Basically sesame chicken on top of ramen noodles with sweet soy sauce. Garlic Flavor Dinner Always great. My absolute favorites are the Ginger Perfect Dinner, iThaiz Delight, and Massaman Curry Dinner. The Thai Bubble Waffles are a hard pass for take out or delivery though. I tossed it out because I literally couldn't bite through it. It was like cardboard. They were very heavy on curry though the menu description mentioned nothing about curry. I was expecting a soy based lettuce wrap. If it is going to be something other than what you get at 99% of the other restaurants that offer a lettuce wrap, the menu should give you a heads up. read more

The noodles were chewy and soaked in just right with the soup. The crispy bits of fried noodles blended in perfectly and eventually added more flavor to the broth. I added seafood to my dish but you can top it with any meats/vegetables including crispy duck :) Owner is very nice!! Such a chill atmosphere. Clicking on it, I was charged an extra $1 to add the beef...$16.95 total which ended being about $25 for the delivery. The entree itself was super small for being almost $17 and had absolutely no flavor. The rice was worse...very over cooked to the point that it was a brick and tasted dry.
