Not a bad option for Thai food! Siam Square is located in Waikiki along Lewers and Kuhio Ave, and the restaurant is situated on the 2nd floor of a plaza, right next to the bar Bacchus. Although the restaurant appears small on the outside, it actually is quite spacious with plenty of tables -- we were able to get seating for two immediately on a Thursday night. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which I appreciated. I got the pad kee mao and tom yum soup. I enjoyed both of them! The pad kee mao, even at its lowest spice level of medium, was pretty spicy (as the menu warned), but was generally balanced with a nice sweetness. The tom yum soup was really flavorful, though I wish they strained some of the spices (e.g. star anise) out of the soup prior to serving. If you're craving Thai food and are in the area, Siam Square is a good option! read more

The menu is large, so you should be able to find something you like. Nice and bright inside and plenty of seating with music in the background to help drown out conversations as you are sitting close to other ppl. Plenty of room for a large party. The heat levels are mild to spicy and of course no spice. I asked for the spicy and waitress asked "are you sure". Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (which came out quickly). I did not realize tofu came with the dish, so half of the protein in the picture is tofu. The dish was ok, the spicy level of heat was not overwhelming. Overall dish was ok, plenty of sauce so the noodles were not clumped together or dry. I will not have this dish again, but I will be back to try the curry. We caught ourselves watching the fireworks in Waikiki and the family was craving Thai food. My brother-in-law recommended this spot so we made the trek. Fortunately, they seated us quickly and were very attentive to us. As always, I grabbed their Pa Nang Curry which was delicious, with a side of sticky rice. We shared plates of pad Thai and other appetizers. This was the first time I tried Thailand's Singha beer which paired nicely with the spicy food. We were all comfortable and were satisfied with our food. Unfortunately, the bathroom was shared with neighboring businesses and it was not well-maintained. The male toilet was clogged and smelled of urine. As a father to two young girls, a clean and sanitary bathroom is a necessity, even it's just to wash their hands. I eat here at least once a week. The drunken noodles are amazing and they have the best panang curry. Their masala curry is bomb too, but on the sweeter more cinnamony side. I like their pineapple curry too but the panang is just too good to pass up. If you want a soup, their tom kah has so much flavor. I usually don't like ordering fried rice, but I've ordered all the fried rice dishes here because it tastes so good, and the basil is my favorite. The dishes are so colorful with the freshest veggies that are always cooked so perfectly. I will say their pad thai is not the best. I would also skip the fried calamari. If you want apps, get the egg rolls! Siam is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is so kind and the restaurant inside is so cute and cozy. Wasn't the best experience. I didn't like the fact that the server moved my things on the chair without saying anything when it wasn't in the way and she didn't have my permission to touch my things. I ordered a beef pad-see-ieu with extra noodles and requested it be mild. We spent all day at the beach and were starving so when I got my order, I dived in with a huge bite and it was really spicy. It was a pad-see-ieu dish, but apparently not mine. I think the server saw my face and I put my fork down as if I was done with my meal so he came back and said he served me the wrong dish. The spiciness messed up my appetite as I never eat spicy food so I didn't even eat my dish after it was served. Pretty much a waste of time and money. Friends enjoyed theirs. Just not for me. Best green papaya salad I have ever had. We were a party of seven, so we ordered a lot of different items for the table to share. Everything was delicious. Service was outstanding. I absolutely love their Pad Thai with fried tofu it's always full of rich, delicious flavor! My son couldn't get enough of the fried chicken with sticky rice, perfectly crispy and so satisfying. And of course, we had to finish with mango and sweet sticky rice in coconut milk sauce. It usually comes with ground peanuts, but I prefer mine without. Even though it's not mango season (so the mango wasn't super sweet), the sticky rice and coconut sauce totally made up for it still so yummy and comforting! The service was great there were about three servers and maybe one or two food runners, so everything came out quickly and smoothly. Everyone was kind and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The ambience was warm, cozy, and welcoming a lovely little spot tucked away on the second floor. Parking can be tricky if you're new to the area, but I recommend the public parking lot at 2120 Lauula St, Honolulu, HI 96815 It's just across the street and super convenient. It's drenching rain and wet. I ordered fried fish patties and it tastes alright with well balanced ingredients but little soaked with oil (vegetables oil?). Papaya salad is typical and goes well with Singha beer but not good as I expected. Red curry tastes great with brown rice as I expected for typical Thai curry overseas. I wish my experience here matched that of others. Hopefiully, my visit was just a one off - because the shrimp fried rice had shrimps that were not fully cooked. The fried rice itself was fragrant and tasty, but the majority of the shrimps were undercooked. The shrimps might have needed one more crucial minute to get them white/pink. When it comes to pad thai, I enjoy mine to be less wet. I like to have my noodles not 'goop' together. The flavor was a little sweeter than I'm used to and it needed more crushed peanuts to balance it out. The papaya salad and fish cakes were the stars and even liked combining the two. The papaya was fresh, crunchy, tangy. The fish cakes were a bit oily, but tender and tasty. Overall, everything was ok. WhileKuhio, is a very busy street, the entrance is on Lewers st. a side street . You go upstairs to a brightly lit room with Thai pride all over the restaurant. You are greeted by a smiling face again and again. The menu is extensive. It covers so many categories so well . Appetizers, soups salads , entrees, sides, drinks and desserts. Whew! We ordered drinks and started off with fish cakes , they arrived in no time, and they were amazing! Next we each ordered an entree. My friends ordered chicken in a yellow curry and basil garlic fish with so many vegetables. I ordered a Basil beef with chow fun like noodles and an assortment of vegetables Everything was cooked to perfection. Not only did the flavors shine but the presentation was tops as well . One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever had, seriously! I've been eating Thai since I was 20, I'm 68. This is one of the best Thai restaurants . I wish we had this restaurant in San Francisco. Be careful about double tipping here. When it was time to pay, the waitress entered a total that was higher than what was actually on our receipt, then turned the screen toward us with tip options. We caught it right away and asked about it, and she said she had already included a tip in the total, without ever asking us. We never told her how much we wanted to tip, so it felt pretty shady that she just added one on her own and then still gave us the option to tip again. If we hadn't been paying attention and just tapped a tip option, we would've ended up overpaying. What's weird is that we had eaten here just a couple days earlier and everything was normal. The total matched, and we tipped on our own. No one added anything extra without asking. If this had been our first time, we probably would've assumed gratuity was automatically included and not thought twice about it. When we brought that up, the waitress suddenly acted like she didn't understand us, even though she had been communicating perfectly fine before. She walked away and got another staff member, who told us tipping is optional and then in a rude tone, asked, "So what do you want to do?" We still tipped in the end because we know service jobs aren't easy, but the whole situation just felt icky. Like how could you try to scam your own customers? Definitely left a bad impression, and it looks like others have had similar experiences if you look at the 1& 2 stars reviews. I've walked past this eatery many times and it's always crowded, so my daughter who is vegan decided to try. Up the winding staircase we went into a charming decor and greeted with warm smiles from all. It wasn't crowded tonight so we were seated right away. My daughter ordered Fries rice but for the protein she requested tofu, no problem, oh but it was. The rice was bland, no scallions, not much egg and the tofu plain. My family and I stopped by this little hidden gem as we were just settling from a long flight in. When we walked in we were greeted by the host and the decor showed this was going to be an authentic Thai restaurant. Our server was very kind and our food came out in a timely manner. The best item from the menu was their fried chicken! It was very very crispy and we have never had fried chicken that remains crispy during dine in and when we packed leftovers to go. Delicious Thai food in Waikiki. Located upstairs next to a gay bar. You have to go up the stairs and the place is tight so it doesn't seem to be wheelchair friendly. They can be pretty busy on the weekends. Good to call ahead to reserve a table if you can. There were people waiting outside for a table when we left around 8:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant is pretty small. Must order their Tom yum soup with great balanced flavor - savory, sweet, sour, spicy, salty... we also enjoyed their larb and seafood fried rice. The pad Thai was decent but not the best. We wouldn't order their pork satay again. Even though the satay sauce was delish, the pork was dry and rough. This must be my favorite restaurant. The hostess is kind and wonderful at their job. I try to visit here in person as often as I can (any excuse to eat with a friend) because the restaurant is simply perfect. Great ambiance, great view from the 2nd floor windows, and I love that the hostess (I don't recall her name) often wears some ethnic dress or whatever it is called. It adds so much to the experience. Their Panang curry is the best on island (fight me) and I always add more thai dry chilis to it to satisfy my spice addiction. The spring rolls are also IMO the best on island. I CRAVE them and use the fish sauce chilis to add to the wonderful flavor. They provided enough mint leaves to eat with every bite-- I am hooked! I often order via Ubereats because parking in Waikiki is a headache, but---- their food is still SO delicious even with the delivery time. My mom and I were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice, quaint restaurant for Thai food in Waikiki! Tucked away just off the strip, up a small flight of stairs is Siam Square, right across the street from the Courtyard Marriott and Kitty-corner from IHOP. They had a fair amount of business when we got there, but fortunately a couple had just left as we were stepping in, so the staff cleared the table and had us seated moments later. It's a slightly small space for the amount of tables they set up, but as good as their food and service is, I can understand why they should try and accommodate a few more spots for diners. They allow for some choice on spice levels, which is great! My mom isn't big on spice, so we tried to go for mild dishes. Her first choice though, comes at a "medium'ish" base spice, as the server mentioned that the way to develop the soup cannot be completely removed from spice, so we had to pivot as my mom was hungry and didn't want to struggle with more spice than she can comfortably handle. That was okay though, and we appreciate the server giving us that warning! We landed on the cashew stir fry with chicken (one of my baseline dishes for a Thai restaurant) and basil stir fry with ground pork, alongside brown rice. Both dishes were delicious! Served hot out of the kitchen, both dishes had a lot of flavor without being salty, a good mix of meat vegetables to give it texture and taste, and a good portion of each to satisfy our hunger and take a little extra home. I hope to come back and enjoy more of their delicious food and welcoming service... and hopefully to remember to take pictures next time! What a cool spot we found last night and a hidden gem from sure...nestled above some other shops and in between a couple hotels is Siam Square Thai. Inside the restaurant is quaint, but very clean and all the staff here is super friendly and nice! For food we had the Pad Thai, Pork Thai Rice and Yellow Curry all medium sliced. Everything was delicious! Servings were all decent sized and all enough for some leftovers for today. I would for sure go back and would definitely recommend anyone visiting looking for something different giving this a try! You are in Hawaii please don't go to a chain restraint Eat Local! read more

The service was good and loved how friendly they were. Because this restaurant is located in Waikiki, I lowered my standards and had low expectations when it came to the food. The dining space is charming and clean, and if you get a window seat, offers a nice view of the Kūhiō street hub bub below (restaurant is on the second floor). My favorite dishes are pictured: Yellow Curry and Pad Kee Mao. You can choose your protein for these dishes. I like the curry with pork and the noodles with beef. The portions of meat, starch, and vegetable (crunchy broccoli, not soggy...yay!) are well-balanced in both dishes, as are the spices and flavors. You can specifically spice level for most dishes. They can bring you a spice tray with 4 types of peppers too to adjust as you want. I also got the ong choy because it seems like there's no veggies around to eat in Waikiki! Wish it had more of the veggies than meat. It has a nice umami flavor and definitely has msg-yum! Make sure you order a side of rice for the gravy too. Parking as usual will be very hard.
