Not an impressive restaurant for Telluride. I was already disappointed when I walked up to Siam because it looked very cramped. It was hard to get by a person who was sitting at the booth next to mine. It almost felt like the same table. There were also some pesky flies. The service and the food were mediocre. The Pod Thai was not terrible, although it was bland and underwhelming. I have definitely had better Thai food in other places. There are also no good views of the beautiful mountains, which is what Telluride is known for. Very disappointed. read more

Waited for some friends at the bar and the bartender was welcoming and fixed us a delicious cocktail. Moved to a table when our friends arrived. Let me qualify this first by saying, "I don't like Thai food.". So WTF am I eating in here? Well my buddy that I was with loves Thai so here I was. See, my problem with most thai joints is everything I've ever ordered there tastes like a can of coconut milk was poured over whatever other ingredients there are in the dish. Well, not so here at Siam. the dishes I ordered did indeed have coconut in them but it wasn't the only flavor in each dish. I could even discern that some of the dishes had a toasted coconut flavor to them. The chef here rocks her kitchen! We could see the miniscule kitchen from where we sat and watched as order after order poured out of there in rapid succession. Not slopped onto plates or haphazardly staged, she was turning out plate after plate of really good food. Kudos to her. I may have just become a Thai food convert! read more

Good food. I had the mango shrimp, was excellent. I am only giving four stars, even though the food was five star, because I thought the waitstaff could have been a bit friendlier, although it was quite busy so cant blame them too much. I also had the seat at the end of the bar, which was not very comfortable and I kept getting bumped by waitstaff rushing past into the kitchen. My husband, one year old son, and I ate at Siam over Thanksgiving week. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Used to the usual bland, un-authentic Thai food, Siam was refreshing cusine. Many of the dishes were bordered more on fusion cusine. We tried the suggestion of an earlier reviewer and had the banana curry and we were not disappointed. It was an eclectic mix of sweet and sour. My son LOVED the fried rice (with no spices), he ate almost half a dish himself! We also ordered Tom Yum Soup (good), and chicken satay (good as well). The highlight of the meal had to be the sweet rice and champagne mangos. An absolute must! read more

The food at Siam was extremely good. Unfortunately, our group was seated right next to the kitchen, so it was extremely hot, which made a few in the group uncomfortable. I read the great reviews on yelp and really wanted to give this place a try. I tried to get a table for dinner on 2 separate nights, and each time I was treated badly by the hosts. We were pleasantly surprise! My family and I are Msian and we can take good spice - and all I can saw is WOW... We ordered Green curry and it had the right "kick" and the Tom Yum soup was tasty... Very disappointed in the meal today. I had come here two years ago and it was the best restaurant I had been to in a long time. I would have given it 5 stars. This time the roti and hand rolls were delicious but the salmon with the miso sesame sauce and the chicken in the drunken noodles and the beef in the panang curry was over cooked and not very flavorful. Usually LOVE Siam. They have great food. Usually they let us have our dog on the patio but the most recent time we went the hostess said they never should have allowed that and that we can't have her with us. Which would have been fine, but when we went to order takeout from her she was absolutely rude and inhospitable. She was acting like we were inconveniencing her by asking her to do her job and tried to deter us. When we came back to get the food she was fine but the initial attitude really made the whole experience poor. 5 stars for food but only 1 star for the hostess. read more

I called and made reservation a week ago for Telluride Blues and Brews weekend - I received a text for my reservation confirming it for the wrong day. I called to let them know and the gentleman that answered the phone was SUCH a JERK - he refused to listen - told me the mess up in reservation was my fault - was unwilling to listen or help! Wow! Just a quick note on this place. We were in Telluride for one night a few weeks ago (Telluride deserves more than one night by the way, but that is another story). You cannot find a lot of good Asian food in the Colorado mountains so we thought we would give this a try..... And it was amzing! We live in NYC and this stacks up to any ggod Thai place in the City without question. So it is not just good for a mountain town, it is good by any measure. We had the Pad Thai (incredible), chicken with cashews, and my wife had a shrimp curry. It was all great. Plus it is a bustling place with excellent energy. The atmosphere is elegant yet cozy. The food is good, over priced, but good. Perhaps, we caught them on a bad night. The staff was not friendly but efficient. This must be a popular place because they had a full house at 5:00pm with a 2.5 hour wait list. It was surprising that with as many people who wanted to dine with them that their enclosed, heated, patio was not being utilized. The waitress explained that most of their sauces have a fish or shrimp base, so vegans, be warned. Altogether, it was a nice enough experience but the attitude of the wait staff, lack of accommodation for vegans and the high prices were a real turn off. Many of the people being turned away for seating were unaware that they begin taking reservations at 4pm even though they do not open until 5pm. Call ahead for a table during peak season. read more

Probably the best pad thai on the planet. It may or may not be due to the fact that you're in Tell-u-riiiide! but damn this place will make you smile. I would recommend climbing bridal veil for an epic view and then refueling at Siam with epic noodles. Either that or spend all day in a hot tub munching on monkey bars before meandering over for a spicy meal. Either way, you can't lose. read more

We were very excited to revisit Siam having been there many times before. We had reservations but somehow their "system crashed" and our reservation was lost. We were happy to wait despite not even being offered glasses of water in the mean time, let alone drinks to make up for the lost reservation. They promised us next seating, however after 30 minutes of waiting, a party of 8 with reservations LATER than ours was seated ahead of us. We left disgusted only to meet another patron with the same problem. New management sucks, don't trust them. read more
