Siam was highly recommended by a friend. We visited during the summer & at that time, they were short on staff & sadly a few items on their menu were not available (not their fault, just a bummer). Walk-ins are welcomed, but they respect reservations times - meaning, you will not be seated earlier than your reservation. It's a small restaurant that cook up some tasty Thai food. I recommend the Chicken Pad Thai. If you're unable to get a reservation here, do try their sister restaurant in Mountain Village - Siam Talay Grille. Don't go. The conditions are very unsanitary. The servers, are eating, and blowing their noses during service. They are not washing their hands. The bartender didn't wash his hands after eating during service. A waitress literally blew her nose into her bare hand. She then proceeded to roll silverware without washing her hands. Recommended by owners of the AirBnB we are staying at. We wanted to dine outside but all reservations were taken at preferred times, so we took out. Got Colorado beer from store next door. Order via an app was easy with a few minor glitches, app told me it would take 30 minutes, in reality it was 10 minutes and the app warned me of the change in schedule estimate. Pickup was super easy and friendly. Vegetarian spring rolls were outstanding. Spouse's tam Yom (coconut) soup was enjoyable. My Panang curry was good, not too spicy, although nowhere close to the best ever. 5's across the board for location, service, and atmosphere, 4's for food and value, for an overall score of 5. Food is good. The low score is due to mockery from the bartender on me during my 2nd visit, which could just be a case of racism (I'm Asian American). Details are below. On my 1st visit, I waited for almost 30 minutes at the bar just to put in an order. Granted it was crowded, but the wait was really long at the bar. This may have been targeted at me, but I had no proof. Because of the long wait, I only gave $4 tip on $33 pre-tax order, totaling $41. On my 2nd visit, the bartender mocked me claiming that I only gave $3 tip on $50 order to his friend (another customer at the bar, sits next to me). I couldn't believe it; that the bartender (who didn't even know my name) mocked me in front of his friend saying I gave $3 tip on $50 order. I was pissed. hmm... what are my options. Ok sure, I gave more than 15% on a close to $50 dollars order on my 2nd visit; but I definitely won't come back and am writing a review. Now I think about it, all this could have just been racism toward me because I'm Asian American in a predominately white crowd. All other restaurant staffs seem reasonable/nice, and the food is good. Assaulted my family member by throwing her card at her chest while crumbling up the receipt after not receiving the tip that he wanted. After confronting DAN, the entire staff all came up and said they were "teaching her a lesson and how she should learn to tip more." Wonderful meal at Siam! We absolutely loved the food here, it is the best Thai we have ever had. Our waiter, who was awesome, told us they specialize in Northern Thai food which is why the flavors are a little different but so delicious. Our family of 5 each ordered a different dish and everyone loved their food. We had yellow curry with tofu, garden plate with shrimp, short rib curry noodles, triple nipple (my boys thought this was the best), sweet and sour pork. There's not much in Telluride for "Asian Cuisine". After two days of carving on the slopes, my mates and I didn't feel like walking six blocks for dinner. Besides, we wanted to do take out and watch the UFC fight back at our lodge. We found Siam on yelp with decent reviews and decided to give them a try. Few of my friends placed a take-out order through their online portal; very easy to navigate, order, and check out. I on the other hand wanted to get the whole experience. As I walked in, I was greeted nicely by a gentleman behind acrylic glass. Expect 30 to 50 minute wait times during dinner hours. Food: For starters, I ordered the Crab Rangoon and Beef Drunken Noodles for my main entrees. The Crab Rangoon was nicely balanced, not too cheesy or oily. The Beef Drunken Noodles was jam pack with fresh spices and herbs. If you like it spicy, make sure to get it "Thai Hot". Drinks: I ordered their delicious Thai Tea to wash everything down. The Thai Tea was delicious and reminds me of the ones I make at my restaurant. As of 03/06/2021 - the max capacity is at 25%, which is one or two tables out on the patio - make sure to call and make reservations. Food is good but probably a stretch to call this uber fresh or authentic thai food. Came here for a group dinner one night mid week. Ordered takeout and ate on the restaurant's patio - still closed for indoor dining. We got nearly one of everything on the menu. Nothing was bad, some things varied in taste and quality. For years they crammed people round woefully inadequate tables (6-8 people round a table for 4) and we put up with it because they food was ok, and they were the only Thai in town. Now there is another Thai restaurant (The Wok of Joy, on Colorado Ave) that does better food, and has good service. There is no need to put up with over-priced mediocrity served by people who clearly detest their jobs. I'm tired of being spoken to like I've interrupted their day for the 14th time. My wife and I were in town for a few days of skiing and made reservations for dinner at Siam. Let me start by saying that the restaurant was simply not to our taste, but it was very crowded otherwise. People seemed to be having a good time, so maybe it was just us. We arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation, but were not seated until 35 minutes after our reservation time. The hostess was busy trying to bus tables as well as seat guests and was a bit frazzled. She had that practiced way of walking right past you without acknowledging you were there. Once seated, we noticed that the table had barely been wiped down. There was food still on the table and one of our chairs. Our waiter was very friendly and professional and did a great job. However, you could tell he was scrambling around trying to keep up with everything. For dinner, we had soup starters, seaweed salad, pad Thai and grilled shrimp in Volcano sauce. Everything was served in a timely manner, but everything was just warm. With the exception of the shrimp in volcano sauce, everything tasted good. The shrimp was huge and well prepared, but were buried under the overpowering sauce. I don't remember the exact total of the bill, but it seemed in line with prices for a ski town. We chalked the experience up to the fact that it was just not our kind of place. For example, we expect to be seated at or near our reservation time and to have our table and chairs clean when we sit down. And, as with many tourist areas, I assume Telluride struggles with getting enough service staff due to the high cost of living in the area. Was greeted as we walked in and we're sat pretty fast considering it was a busy night. Our waiter brought us drinks right away and we ordered an appetizer. The SIAM rolls we're cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside the dipping sauce was also tasty we could have used some more. My entree was the massaman curry with medium spice which was pretty mild. It was quite flavorful especially with the various veggies I added. Prices are a bit high but I guess that what I expect for the area. They also have outdoor seating with heat for winter but inside was much more cozy. I liked the many options they had on the menu and we didnt wait long for our food. Great service I would come back again if I was in the area. read more

This is a very small Thai restaurant in the middle of town. It can be difficult to get reservations because it seats only like 25 people. But it is absolutely out of this world delicious. After a long day on the slopes, we knew our significant others would not be in the mood to go out and frankly, we weren't in the mood to cook, so popped into Siam immediately upon opening at 5 to see if they would be able to accommodate take-away orders. Turns out YES, as long as you are there when they open because boy does this place do a business! I've never seen such a steady stream of people, both during our initial visit and then about an hour later when we went to pick up the meal. It was a bit chaotic (the entry is pretty small and quickly became crowded) but it worked out. We placed an order of 2 app platters, 2 other apps and 4 mains with intensions of sharing everything. There was plenty for 6 and we even ended up with leftovers that made for tasty snacks the next day. The restaurant smelled amazing and once we got the dishes back to the condo we dug in. Everything was very good, but the standouts were the Pra Ram and the Pad Woonsen. That peanut sauce was divine, and the glass noodles were cooked perfectly with a fantastic array of veggies. Want to also mention the curry dipping sauce that came with the Roti Kanai - omg! It was more Indian than Thai, but I think we could have just drank it and been happy. Our other dishes included seaweed salad, the Nipple Platter, the Red Curry and the Drunken Noodles. All were tasty. We got a variety of meats (shrimp, pork and chicken) to keep things interesting. And, to ensure no unnecessary burning of mouths, we ordered all dishes "mild" and Siam provided several pepper and curry sauces for those that wanted to add some heat. One piece of advice would be to either go exactly when they open, or make a reservation well in advance. We met some folks while waiting who had been trying to get in for 2-3 days without success. Clearly a popular place, so plan accordingly! I would love to dine in next time to check out the actual restaurant, but we were totally satisfied with our meal and sometimes a cozy night in is just what is needed. read more

I really have no complaints about their food. We've eaten here many times and the food is good, but, our most recent visit was a major disappointment. I placed an online order at 7:40 on a Monday night. Pickup time said 9:25. Ok, that's a long wait but oh well. My issues came down to the way they charge for takeout. Every dish is an extra $2 (probably to cover the cost of the 3rd party system they use for takeout) plus they charged us a mandatory 15% gratuity and a 2% take out charge, plus almost 9% tax after all that. So a subtotal of $213 ended up costing us $275. On top of that, our order wasn't actually ready until just after 10 pm. We had an order for food for 6 people and they kept moving our order back in order to fill the smaller orders ahead of us. I have no issues tipping for takeout but it should not be obligatory. Especially if it takes 30 minutes longer than we were told. We would have been much better off just dining in. It's really too bad that Wok of Joy moved over to the mountain village side because they would definitely be our number 1 choice for Thai food in the area. read more

Kyle was our server and this guy ruined the whole meal. We sat down and were not greeted for over 10 minutes. Kyle seemed annoyed we didn't have our order completely ready. He then brought the wrong drinks and was slow to make the correction. He was incredibly occupied by impressing a large table and forgot about us. We sat for 20 + after eating and finally grabbed someone to get our check and box. Box finally comes and Kyle just stumbles around asking if we need a check. I ordered a green curry dish with green beans and basil and green peppers and tofu. Unbeknownst to me. It came like soup. They were just a few beans some noodles, and I just felt like it was swimming at a bunch of coconut milk with no taste. Total waste of $27. Will never go back again .When I mentioned it to the waiter, he basically said that's the way it's done in Asia. Great Thai food, super cozy meal after day of the slopes. FYI, you should have a reservation (through Yelp). Previously it was walk in reservations only, but this has changed!!!! You can also call or stop in the day of to check - the restaurant opens at 5 but the phone line opens at 4. We were a large group and got lucky with the walk in during one of the busiest weeks by seating outside (there are heaters... we came on a 2 degree day, wouldn't recommend but I'm sure it's nice when it's warmer!). So just know you can always sit outside on the closed porch or get first come first serve bar seating. The menu is huge and everything we ordered was great! I had the Tom Kha, Nipple platter (basically a variety combo of different apps), Pad See Ew (different than drunken noodles, much better IMO) and Green curry. I didn't love the curry, but everything else was great. The service was a bit slow but it is a tiny restaurant - I was told they only have two woks so on busier nights it might be a wait.
