I should start by saying I used to love this restaurant. I was thrilled a Thai place opened in Athens where the Laab Gai came with sticky rice, the green beans with garlic were awesome, and the curries were all good. Perhaps if you are interested in dining in some of these things remain although the abandonment of sticky rice a few years back was the start of me opting for making Thai at home or seeking it out when I traveled. But last week's experience trying to get carryout is what prompts me to write this review now. For the second time, I could not get anyone to answer the phone when trying to order takeaway. Both times I frustratingly went to order in person and wait. The first time "the ringer was off" and they quickly got my order in. Last week, the answer was "when we are busy in the restaurant, we don't answer the phone." And putting in an order for take out now would likely take 30-40 minutes. So I opted for something else that day and share so others don't have to experience the frustration (and amazement) at a restaurant just not answering the phone when they are busy. I understand food ingredients are more expensive, service sector staffing is difficult and perhaps they were just a chef down that day. But at least make up an excuse, don't just share in the most cynical of ways, we just ignore phone orders when it gets busy. read more

The server claimed this place has opened up only a few weeks ago and the head chef is apparently Laotian who worked in Thailand for several years. She was very friendly and attentive. The food was great and with huge portions. My Pad Kee Maw was loaded with veggies. My wife said she ate about seven Thai basil leaves in her Green Curry. And she couldn't finish about 1/3rd of it. Service was fine, wasn't too busy & they have an open area outside to sit at. Their spice levels run from 1-10 & I got level 5 on Pad Prik Khing and it was plenty hot for me. I LOVE this place. The staff who work here are very sweet. Food typically comes out in a very timely manner. Sometimes wait times may be longer on big weekends, but that is always to be expected. The waitstaff wasn't at fault. The food wasn't very good. But I also couldn't taste it because I was looking for roaches. The ambiance was fine. 6/2024 We had a wonderful experience here sibs weekend 2023. A lot has changed in 18mo. We returned at 8PM on a Saturday night in the middle of summer. The restaurant was empty (as is Athens). We move ourselves away from the window. The waitress was bizarre & failed to read the empty room. After we moved ourselves, she told us that IF a large group was to show up we will need to move back to the window seats. I asked her if they are expecting a large group (no)? "The Best Thai Food in Town" is probably right as there don't seem to be any other Thai places within an hour drive. The pad Thai was pretty good. Make sure you tell them what spice level you want it (between 1-10). The crab Rangoon was tasty and served in a cute boat. read more

Cockroaches! We ate there a few times and thought the food was good. Today we ate there in the restaurant and we had a large Coach in my rice!!!!! The didn't charge us for the meals. I am completely grossed out and will never go back!!! They said they just fumigated for them and they were crazy with them or something like that! They should be shut down until it is cleared up ! We love the food, reasonable prices, good variety, made to order. We went every week for several years. We got to know the servers and they always were very helpful. That has changed. They've lost very loyal customers. About 6 weeks ago, we went in about 8:30 on a Friday night after a basketball game. Only a few tables were filled. They finally took our orders and then waited and waited. No one even came to check or offered to refill our water. Finally after more than a half hour we flagged down a server. She said they were having in the kitchen and told us to leave if we didn't want to wait. Well, we were hungry and it was getting late. Finally, maybe 15 minutes later, the server came over and slammed our food down. Had that been our first experience we would not have returned so we decided to just give it a rest. Last night after about 6 weeks we returned. This time the place was pretty full but we were seated right away. Then the server came over and said, in a very hostile tone, "There's a long wait, maybe an hour. ". That did it. We love the food but obviously the staff doesn't care. My husband and I were incredibly disappointed with the food, service and ambiance. The meat was unchewable and tasteless. When describing this to waiter he said if they used better quality cuts it would cost $20 more per plate. The curry was so sweet it tasted like syrup. I drove past this place for 2 years before finally giving it a try. I regret every minute I waited! It was bomb. I was craving Thai food, and it hit the spot. Though my favorite, pad Thai, was about $13, it filled me up, and I had leftovers! I tried there crab Rangoon as well, and it was great. Crisp, and they give you 4 really big pieces.
