Came here with my Dad, my family of 4 & our friends, another family of 4. The staff was very curious and they put tables together for us all to sit together. The waiter was very friendly and welcoming. They got all our drinks and gave us time to look things up. We spilled a drink and the were on it quickly. They made sure our table wasn't sticky. Very attentive staff. We also told the staff that it was my Dads birthday and he got a free chocolate cake that was really yummy according to all the kids the inside was really nice. Wasn't too bright, which I just personally don't like when I'm eating. It was dark by any means. It had a nice warm-ish feeling. There was an area inside where you could see the staff cooking the food. I thought they'd cook at your table but they don't. There's just a bar like area where they cook the hibachi stuff. They also offer sushi which I wasn't sure of. The food was really good. The kids even approved. The only down side was the prices. They were a tad bit pricey for me but, it is a really nice place to go to once in a while. read more

This was a nice find in Parkersburg WV. I really appreciated that they had a tuna lovers plate. Not many restaurants will do that do to the cost of tuna. It was fresh, great color, and reasonably priced. The onion soup that comes with the plate was honestly the best I have ever had! It was rich and not just an afterthought like many restaurants make it. So why a 4 star verses 5. Here is why and I will admit you have to know your dishes. I order the Tom Yum soup. It was a good portion and reasonably priced but not made correctly. Tom Yum soup does not have coconut milk in it. It is a clear broth soup. The staff handled the challenge perfectly and just took the soup off my check. This is a solid restaurant and I will be back I just feel I have to be honest on what they do outstanding and where there is a minor gap in my attention. read more

I was very disappointed with my dinner this evening hibachi combo steak and shrimp mixed veggies looked great but Everything on my plate was ice cold I brought it to the waitresses attention she apologized and went to have it handled only to come back with the same food reheated so the veggies are burnt the shrimp chewy the steak over cooked to tough to eat and the rice hard as pebbles was still charged full price for both meals needless to say we had deserted elsewhere read more

So good. I have been here several times and the food is always consistently good. THe Thai food is EXCELLENT as well. A lot of others do not have a very good peanut sauce on their Pad Thai, but this place has nailed it. Coupled with the fact that they include soup with their meals makes it an excellent value as well! read more

I had to give this 2 stars as I am not sure why it has 4 stars. We went for lunch, first thing that hit you is how dark inside it is. They could benefit from at least opening some upper blinds. We were Placed in the back in a booth with a huge worn spot. I should have asked to move, but the other point is do t place people back there. There were numerous table tops open. The menues we were given were dirty and the minute text it made it impossible to read (and I don't wear glasses.) The server was pleasant and attentive, why the extra point. Don't order cold sake they don't keep it that way. We were given complimentary beef broth with dehydrated mushrooms that were chewy- glad it was complimentary. The pot stickers were terrible mushy and bland. I was hoping for Thai as it is listed first in the sign, but this is mainly a sushi place. I got the very unsatisfying rainbow roll 2 slices didn't have any fish on it and the piece of shrimp was that- shrimp. But the worse was they rice I have never tasted that type of rice in sushi. California Crunch Roll - 5 Stars all day long. I've never been a big fan of sushi, but this rolls was heavenly. Soft rice, crunchy fried onions, sweet sauce and creamy avocado paired together perfectly. Loved it so much, I ordered one to go for later! The wontons were creamy and full of crab. The accompanying dipping sauce was lemony, but sweet, totally different from the normal sweet and sour that is the norm. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and the place was busy even then; probably a testament to its quality. Service was a tad slow, but pleasant. Prices are super reasonable. read more

Passing through town, saw Tokyo Thai had overall solid reviews, gave it a try. When we arrived it was very busy, 5:30p with mostly full seating and a ton of carry out orders up on the kitchen sill. We were seated promptly, waiter showed up in decent time n took our order. They serve complimentary Clear Soup, flavorful with tones of beef broth - yet you can see your spoon all the way to the bottom of the bowl. We got the Spring Roll appetizer. The sweet chili sauce they serve with it is among the best I've had. Delectable. Daughter had the Chicken Fried Rice, she said first time ever she liked all the vegetables served with it: onion, zucchini, carrots, & mushrooms. All tasty, and enough for a take home meal after. I had the Tofu Massaman Curry. When served the curry smell was quite strong, but the white rice and Massaman sauce toned the curry down and it was scrumptious. Very very good. The most generous portion of tofu in a tofu dish I can ever remember. The tofu was fried, not plain, added a nice touch. And lots of it. If by chance you are traveling through Parkersburg, WV, be sure and give Tokyo Thai a try. Great service no matter how busy they are. Solid food offerings at a decent price. Two thumbs up. read more

My husband and I went to dinner at this wonderful restaurant Saturday night, February 19, 2021. It was very busy. That alone normally says a lot. The staff was great. The food was great. They did not treat us like a number waiting, they were polite, kind and efficient. We moved here from Florida. I use to eat sushi and sashimi quite often. I enjoyed it very much. The starter broth was delicious. We ordered spring roll appetizers (4 to a serving) and Squid salad. Chai Tea, I had hot tea as well , my husband ordered Curry he loves his curries. I convinced my granddaughter to go to Tokyo Tai instead of McDonalds, we ordered appetizers which were very good and shrimp Pad Tai and a fried volcano roll, they brought the Pad Tai very fast and set it down I started smelling something very bad, I smelled my pad tai and asked my granddaughter to smell it, it smelled like a wet dog, I called a worker over and told German I couldn't eat it because the smell was so bad she was very rude and said I was going to be charged because it was my fault that I ordered something I didn't like, I asked her to smell it but she wouldn't do it, she picked up my dish and fussed and cussed in her language all the way back to the kitchen and told me I would never get anything from there again, I will never go back read more

I like the hibachi and sushi, but the traditional Thai food here is out of this world! Chicken pad Thai, beef drunken noodles or one of the curries is what I usually order. The udon curry is really good! The pad Thai is great with shrimp too, especially when it's hot outside. I ask for it spicy and prefer it that way. The drunken noodles are amazing with the sweet bite of Thai basil. They make really great wontons! Everyone else I know that eats here gets hibachi and my husband loves it. The price is a lot better than Fusion. THE BEST PART OF THIS PLACE IS THE TRADITIONAL THAI FOOD! But a lot of people don't try it. So go there, and try some Thai flavors! read more

The restaurant smelled like sewer was backed up in the kitchen. The service was slow. Our dishes were never cleaned off the table. Our cups were not refilled once. Wow. We were passing through and starving. The Yelp world does not mess around and these reviews were spot on. The place was crowded, but we got seated quickly. Service was very fast. Everything was delicious - soup, edamame, hibachi with steak, chicken, shrimp, scallops. Some with rice. Some with noodles. Curry shrimp was great. Shrimp pad Thai was great. It was just the right portion size for lunch and the price was fantastic. If we hadn't been so hungry when we arrived, we would have needed boxes to go. A welcome addition to Parkersburg-Vienna. Tokyo is the same family who operates Shogun in Marietta, and this place has lived up to the same great food. They've been open a short time, so expect just an occasional hiccup with service. Yesterday, one of us received our noodle dish about 15 minutes before the other. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they check in frequently. Items to try: Drunken Noodles (don't hesitate to ask for them extra spicy), Pad Thai, Udon Curry, Spring Roll and Gyoza appetizers, any of the sushi creations. Uhhhh.... Not sure what this place is. First, this is the only "Japanese" place that doesn't have alcohol. I don't neeeeeed it but Sake or a nice Japanese beer with Japanese food is preferable. Second, they are all over the place with food. Some Japanese, some Thai, some Chinese and the workers are none of these... I'm thinking they just lump all Asian food together in one category. I found this place because they were one of the opened restaurants on a Sunday evening which is nice for travelers like myself. My fiance ordered yum yum sushi roll because it was not too heavy. We have eaten here quite often Because it's close to where my mom lives and she happens to like it, but unfortunately the quality is hit or miss. We've had a few issues with inconsistency, for example the hibachi entrées are very good, but sometimes the vegetables are large, clunky and undercooked, and other times they seem perfect. Additionally the prices that are listed here are very old and have gone up significantly. I mentioned that to one of the cashiers but he says he has nothing to do with yelp. Lastly, I had an issue where the cashier added a five dollar gratuity to my credit card when I had already left cash. They made it right but I had to make a special trip so check your receipt. read more

AMAZING! The place needs a reno, but other than that the food was delicious and the prices were great. We ordered the beef hibachi for $8 and the beef was so tender and plentiful. The food was absolutely disgusting!!! The sushi definitely was not fresh. The wasabi looked like it had been passed around the restaurant to every customer for a week before it was served to us. Had the drunken noodles with chicken as well as a yum yum roll. Both were good, but not amazing. My wife had the hibachi chicken and said it was great. We normally go to Fusion's for this type of meal. Tokyo was, at most, HALF the price. Food was just as good and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the pineapple rice chicken (definitely a yes for kids) and curry chicken for adults or those that like to tantalize their tastebuds.
