    Cupcakes to go!
    Joyce H.

Found this cupcake shop randomly on a drive and loved the cupcakes. It's hidden in an industrial area but don't let that fool you. They have great cupcakes. I recommend giving it a try. I bought a box of three cupcakes to share with family and everyone loved them. It seems like most people order the cupcakes ahead of time and simply pick up their orders. But you can walk in and pick one up.

Very friendly and talented employees at Sibby's Cupcakery! How can a decorator fit a Civic Type R on a jumbo cupcake???

    Joan W.

At first I didn't realize it was a storefront because I think they do the bulk of their business as pre-orders for events. But alas they do have a storefront that you can walk in. It's not a typical cupcakery storefront like Kara's or Sprinkles which is bright and cutesy located in a shopping area but more like a display case in front of their kitchen and office across the railroad tracks in an industrial area. Kind of looks like a hidden place you need a password for. They have 3 sizes of cupcakes which is nice to choose from: Large which I believe is the equivalent of 3 cupcakes, regular, and mini. A list sits outside where it shows the cupcakes offered for the day. You don't get as many options if you walk in, especially at the end of the day. I like the Jimmie cake which has sprinkles and the confetti cupcake the best.

People are very friendly and cup cakes are very tasty. And owner Sibby is great too. Will buy cupcakes in the future.

Ordered gluten free cupcakes from Sibby's, they were so knowledgeable about avoiding cross contamination and I am so grateful! Their cupcakes are delicious & the gf ones / can't even tell the difference. They have such a wide variety of flavors. Yes the cupcakes are a tad pricey, but worth it. Ordering, pickup, and consumption were All EASY and enjoyable experiences! Be sure to stop by and indulge!!!!

Out in the area and wanted something sweet. Stumbled upon a cupcake shop and they were absolutely good. The cupcake hit the spot for sure!

Ok, so if you're in the SF Peninsula and are looking for some amazing cupcakes.. LOOK NO FURTHER! I have lived in SF and used to amazing spots for food and desserts! This is my fave in the peninsula!! I always order a dozen cupcakes and love getting random flavours. Sibby's has great flavours and always tastes freshly baked and with simple, real ingredients. You can taste the sweetness without the artificial sweetness taste (if that makes sense)!?! I have tried many flavours and always satisfied with every bite! They are dangerously good! Be forwarded, you won't just want to eat one! This place is nestled near downtown San Mateo with street parking that is metered. The place is small in size but create many delicious desserts! The price point is on par with many high end bakeries that have amazing quality and taste. The staff is super friendly and helpful every time I had gone. If you're in the area, I highly recommend this place!! You won't be disappointed!!

If you are gluten free or know someone who is, you have found your nirvana. Glorious flavors, beautiful creations and pure joy in a pink box. I've had these gf cupcakes many times, and they never disappoint. Friendly and prompt delivery available. Superb in every way.

Absolutely adored my experience here! If you're gluten free - this is the place for cupcakes!! I can't even pick a favorite flavor from the ones I've tried - they're all 10/10. And the staff are incredibly sweet and helpful!

    A very happy birthday girl.

I have been coming here for 15 years. I can't believe I haven't reviewed. These are the most amazing cupcakes in the world. They are incomparably delicious. They are beautiful pieces of art. They make any celebration an experience. But an experience experience. Making the event worthy of core memory building. I love these cupcakes so much, but I also love how popular I am whenever I bring them to an event."Who brought the Sibby's??" Honestly don't worry about the price. These are not in the same leagues of other cupcakes. They are a bargain for the joy they bring everyone.

Sibby's is now my favorite place for cupcakes. I have a life-threatening peanut and tree nut allergy and I was very excited to read that Sibby's is nut-free. My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday to try out a few flavors and they were all delicious. We ordered the carrot cake (nut-free!), funfetti, and pumpkin cheesecake. *chef's kiss* The bakery is small and they have a displace case at the front with the available flavors. It's pretty cute inside with all the pink. The workers are all really friendly and nice, which is always a plus.

The cutest train themed cupcakes! I wish I'd gotten more pics, these were only a portion of what we ordered.

Can I stop by to purchase some cupcakes ? I need 12 but it's not letting me to order for tomorrow

You can buy cupcakes on the spot

Anyone know how to mix and match flavors when ordering online? I want to preorder three dozen for pick-up next Saturday and don't see an option to customize my boxes. Thanks.

You have to order a minimum of 6 of the same flavor. Another option is to show up early on the day you want them and pick out what they have on-hand. They usually have quite a few choices available.

Are they still taking custom orders?

    Yes

What is the current pricing for cupcakes? Are there half dozen assortments available?

Do you have gluten free cupcakes?

    Yes!

What is the price per dozen of mini cupcakes? I'm sure it's stated somewhere here, but for some reason I'm having trouble finding it. Thank you in advance!

Hi Rosieposie!! Our mini cupcakes are $33/ dozen. And just in case you’re curious about our regular size cupcakes, they are $48/ dozen.

    Do they have eggfree cake?

Yes! We have four flavors available year round that are egg free: Choco Choco, Chocolate & Cream, MMM Good Mocha, and Chocolate Coconut Cream. Please call us to find out if we have a seasonal flavor that is egg free.

Is this a nut free bakery?

    Yes.

Do you make King Cakes for Mardi Gras?

Hi BudgetBougie B!! We would love to bake for you, but we only make cupcakes. You can order Mardi Gras themed cupcakes in a variety of flavors, but we do not make King Cakes.

The cupcake itself was quite dry, and the buttercream had an overwhelming buttery taste rather than the smooth, creamy, silky texture I expected from a professional bakery. This tall cake served twenty easily (I sliced it in two layers), and was an enormous hit with the newly four year old. The flavor and texture of the chocolate cake was excellent, much much better than a store cake. I had low expectations for the frosting flavor given the decorations and past experience with kid birthday cakes but this was outstanding. Overall a huge hit and well worth the price for what was also the perfect centerpiece for the table. I will happily reorder from this bakery whenever we need an event cake, it was just so easy and so rewarding.

Picked up a princess cake to enjoy with family and friends tonight. The verdict, while similar, I still prefer the Schubert's princess cake for its lightness and less sweet finish. Schubert's princess cake also has a more predominant almond flavor. Both memorably delicious. In fact, the consensus over the dinner table amongst friends and family was deeeelicious! And my cousin, who's the most important critique says I can bring the princess cake from either place over anytime! Would definitely return for either cake or to try the double chocolate cake which is Rosa's recommendation or coffee crunch cake that Mike C. recommended for next time. I'm also not a huge frosting person, and I believe the cream was buttercream, which was probably the biggest downside for me. It wasn't overly sweet, but the consistency was just too thick for both my husband and me. I even tried leaving it out for over an hour to see if it would soften, but it remained dense. I do wish there were more fruit in the filling. It was mainly cream and a few berries. We sliced the cake on Saturday, and by Monday the exposed part of the cake from where it was cut had become pretty dry. I ended up cutting off the dry outer layer, but thankfully the inside was still moist, so I was able to enjoy the rest of the cake. Ordering through Square was easy. I ordered the 4-inch cake with a marble design, matcha cake, strawberry cream, and strawberries. One thing to note is that if you order the 4-inch cake, there wasn't a section to add custom text. You'll need to email or call them with your order number to let them know what you want written on the cake. Overall, the highlight of the cake was definitely the cake itself. The moisture and strong matcha flavor really stood out and were my favorite parts. If I were to order from this bakery again, I'd probably try a different filling and cream because the buttercream just wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference.
