This is such a great gem and downtown Burlingame. They're baked treats are the best. They have gluten-free options which seals the deal. I always come here to get the date cookie and the PB&J cookie ball. Def will come back

This is my honest review of my experience ordering a carrot cake from Busy Lizzy's. I ordered an 8-inch carrot cake for a friend based on the beautiful photos on the website, as carrot cake is her favorite. I wasn't able to schedule the pickup time online, so I followed up via email after placing the order to let them know that I was going to pick it up in a few weeks. When I didn't hear back after a couple days, I had to call just to make sure that the pickup date and time was received. I also ended up receiving a response to my initial email, but it was quite delayed and a few days before the pickup date anyways. On the pickup day, my friend had to pick it up in the store and the staff working at the time showed her the cake and my friend confirmed it was fine. However, once she brought it back, I noticed the cake looked very different from what was advertised online. The photos showed a cake with texture, pearls, and flowers, while the cake we received was decorated with carrots. While the carrots were cute, it wasn't what I had expected and didn't match the theme we had planned for her party, which was disappointing. I emailed Busy Lizzy's afterward to share my concerns but didn't receive a response. After 2 weeks, I followed up and was told my original email had gone to spam. Lizzy responded explaining that flowers are an extra charge (as noted on the website), that my friend had approved the cake at pickup, and that the carrots were added so the cake wouldn't be plain. I can say I am totally at fault for not reading correctly that flowers are an extra fee. That said, I do wish I had been contacted before the carrots were added. If I had been asked, I would have opted for a plain cake or clarified the design details ahead of time. I didn't appreciate that she assumed I wouldn't want a plain cake. The image also showed pearls, which isn't currently specified as an extra charge on the website, which we didn't receive. The cake itself tasted fine, moist and light, but it was pretty expensive for $64. Overall, the experience and communication was not the best after needing to follow up via email multiple times. I do see now that you are able to schedule the pickup date on their website, which is a nice improvement. This was my first experience here, and unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.

Overall I think it's a great place to stop at when you're in the mood for something sweet. They have a large variety of cookie flavors and other baked goods. So I would definitely recommend if you are looking to try something new. My favorites were the cinnamon roll cookie and the s'mores cookie. We were also big fans of the banana bread!!

I took your choices for the gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, s'mores, and celebration cookie. They were all good.

Super charming bakery. We got three 3 different kinds of cookies the s'mores, the celebration cookie, and the gluten-free chocolate chip and they were all good. I really wanted a coffee, but they don't serve coffee because you have to go next-door to Peets coffee and I didn't wanna stand in line there.

I've had my fair share of love-hate relationships with restaurants (and people) in the past, but they've got nothing on my buddy and Busy Lizzy's. The very first time we tried to come here, it was on full display, going from absolutely singing their praises as we walked here to then cursing them for being closed for the day and depriving him of his beloved cookies. The second time we came here? Absolutely giddy as he clutched his bag of cookies (the man is a sugar fiend). Which, I must say, only made me that much more excited to check them out for myself! Almost as soon as you step inside, you're immediately greeted by their wide assortment of baked goodies (and the workers). From their cookies, brownies, and bars to their cakes, loaves, and cupcakes, everything looks so delectable laid out on their counter. What's more, each of the handful of times I've been here, the exact lineup of each day's offerings has always been different. Along with their set of signature staples, such as their Coffee Cake, Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snickerdoodles, Cookies N Cream Cookies, Cinnamon Bread Pudding, and S'mores Bars, each day's menu will also feature a number of seasonal treats, rotating flavors, and items offered only for a limited time. -- BROWNED BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE This was the thing I was most excited to try and it didn't disappoint! The cookie was a perfect golden brown, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had a delicious, buttery flavor. I do wish it had more chocolate chips in it, but that's true for every chocolate chip cookie in the world. -- COOKIES 'N CREAM COOKIE FWIW, this is my buddy's favorite cookie here and I get why. Ironically, what I love most was that this didn't have that overt cookies n cream look that comes when it's overloaded with Oreos. Rather, it was a bit more subtle, though it still had plenty of flavor, and not as insanely sweet as I feared. -- LEMON & ALMOND MINI LOAF I can't ever resist lemon flavored treats and this one, while not my favorite out there, isn't too shabby. Although the bottom was a little dry, the lemon had a nice tartness that was nicely balanced by the sweetness of the icing. Plus, the shaved almonds added a nice crunch, too! -- CINNAMON BREAD PUDDING Bread pudding can be a little hit or miss for me, but this one was pretty solid. I especially liked the cinnamon flavor in this, which is more unique than the ones I've had before. The texture was a little "gloppier" than I like, but that's more preference than flaw (this is my buddy's favorite bread pudding anywhere). -- BANANA BREAD I'm always on the lookout for a good banana bread and this is a pretty good banana bread. Other than along some of the edges, this was so moist! What I liked most, though, was how it had a strong taste of banana even despite the fairly generous amount of chocolate chips in it. Not to get too cheesy, but almost just as sweet as all of Busy Lizzy's delectable treats is their staff. Each time I've been here, every worker I've talked to has been uber friendly and nice. They were more than happy to let me pick their brains for recommendations and it was pretty cool how they even recognized regulars who stopped in. As far as their prices go, yes, as others have already mentioned, they are a little higher than average, but what you get for your money is decidedly better than average, so you're still getting a fair bang for your buck. FOUR AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

Was walking down the street and this little place caught my eye. Walked in and it was heaven! Everything looked so delicious. They have so many different baked goods. The workers were SO friendly and kind. They answered all my questions and were attentive. Came on a Saturday around 4-5ish and they still had goodies left although they mentioned they were busy all day. Got the strawberry cookie, lemon cookie, matcha vanilla cookie, and chocolate chip. Cookies were yummy with a soft middle and a crisp outside. This place was so cute and the goodies were yummy! Perfect little treat while walking around

After finishing a celebratory dinner, a friend forewarned me about a gift that she placed in my car trunk. After a long day of tasks, errands, and making sure everything at home was in place before our celebratory event of a dinner, I was exhausted and stuffed when I got home a little before 10 pm. Heeding my friend's advice, I placed the contents in this bag in a sandwich Ziplock bag and refrigerated it. A couple days later, I pulled it out of the fridge. That's when I figured out that they gifted me a slice of banana bread (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=GnIaJbCL3wp-G8fywEujNA). It was thick dense and heavy which made me worried about my skimpy waistline... not so skimpy. I knew the portion size would be enough for two sittings. After that first bite... well, let's just say it was awfully tempting to gobble it up like a Pac Man. Despite being refrigerated for two days, it was not the least bit dry. The bread was delicious, not overly sweet, and the amount of walnuts and large chocolate chips meshed perfectly with the banana flavor. Thank you to my thoughtful friends for getting me this. Now I have another place to go sweets hunting in Burlingame.

Super cute! Ok cookies and cream cookie, but the peanut butter w cranberry brownie one was so rich and good, was basically our lunch.

    Peanut Butter cookie
    Kelly M.

We wandered in to this bakery and sampled several of the cookies and a brownie. I got a matcha cookie for my daughter. She said it was good, although the matcha flavor was not easy to detect. I got a peanut butter cookie, and it was pretty good. My husband had a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie. He said both were "good, but not the best." The cookies are large and thick, which is not my preference; I prefer cookies to have a bit of crispness.

I drove through traffic and obstacles for their chocolate chip banana bread - which is the best I've ever tried, hands down.

    Vegan set
    Andy N.

Busy Lizzy Bakery delivers with a few vegan friendly treats and I am here for the ride. My friend shared a few in a mini gift box with three vegan friendly baked items and it wasn't bad. I tried their peanut butter date bites and their coconut energy balls. Loved the use of dates as a sweetener and as a peanut butter lover, these were fire. There was also a sea salt blondie that was definitely on the saltier side and I found these to just be okay. Although I love that there were vegan options, you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking online. I hope that they'll update their website and social media to showcase more of these so others are aware.

Maison Alyzée is a French fine pastry bakery café located on downtown Burlingame's main strip. Dedicated to providing customers with a Parisian escape through handcrafted elegant pastries and artisanal breads, the bake shoppe doubles as pâtisserie and boulangerie, priding itself on meticulous attention to detail. Upon entry, we were welcomed by a brightly lit and very clean venue. Ray and I were immediately drawn to the beautiful marble-topped white counter that encased a gorgeous variety of exquisite treats. The commitment to the elegance of French culture and modern creativity were evident in every luxurious pastry and cake on display. Maison Alyzée is an order-at-the-counter establishment, so we made our purchase with a friendly staff member at the register. Unfortunately, we were told that espresso drinks were no longer available that night since the staff had already begun cleaning the machines. Ok....I never understand businesses that start shutting down things before closing time. This just shows customers that team convenience of closing shop quickly takes precedence over customer experience, essentially omitting availability of items from the menu while they are still open. For this reason, I am docking a star. Luckily, they still had some cold brew available, so I ordered a Lavender Cold Brew with oat milk. Heads-up: Plant-based milks like almond and oat milk incur a $0.75 surcharge. I wish that the lavender was more like a simple syrup, so that the flavour was sweeter and less sharp. The cinnamon roll is light with a crisp exterior and delicate notes of cinnamon spread throughout the pastry. The cream cheese frosting is decadent and creamy. Its a good ratio and doesn't feel too heavy to eat by yourself. * Salmon scone- I ordered this because I was craving something savory. It was pretty small so no more than a few bites.
