I am so glad that I put my two year old Aussie in training with BlackPaw. Prior to his board and…read moretrain he started having reactions to dogs, people, my horse...after training he is so much better adjusted and I have tools to help in any situation. Before training, walking my pup was stressful. He was pulling on me so badly that it made walks stressful. Now, his heel and sit stay make walks so enjoyable! Thank you for helping Oslo and I. Life is just a little more enjoyable now after his board and train!

Our 2-year old Stella had impulse control and leash reactivity issues due to anxiety and fear…read more Taking her to places like an outdoor coffee shop or Home Depot was so frustrating because she couldn't control her excitement and we couldn't control her. So, we just stopped taking her. And, after a very bad reaction to a dog on our walk, where she redirected on me, I would get scared any time we saw a dog when we were out walking and did my best to just avoid dogs altogether. We finally decided we couldn't fix Stella on our own and we decided to take her to Black Paw Dog Training. The training we ALL received has changed our lives! Since her graduation, we have enjoyed Saturday pack walks with other graduates and Stella has done great, walking side by side with other dogs, passing dogs out on the trail and staying in a perfect heel. I never thought it could be possible. She plays ball in a neighborhood park and has perfect recall. And our walks and ball playing in the neighborhood are totally different. She can pass dogs on the trail and just walk on by without losing her mind. And taking her with us to stores is now a fun outing. No more whining. No more pulling. Just a well-behaved pup. Bernadette and Cecilia have opened up a whole new world for us that we never thought was possible. We cannot thank Black Paw Dog Training or recommend them highly enough.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews at all. These are dogs that have been rescued from high…read morekill shelters and often have been through very traumatic events. Their purpose is to try to find the best fit possible for these dogs so as to make sure these dogs aren't put through more trauma and have forever homes. With that, merely putting in an application for a dog doesn't guarantee you're the best fit for the dog you're interested in compared to somebody else. From what I understand they will often take a while to go through their applications because they want to make sure the dog gets adopted by the best candidate for the dog. There are plenty of dogs my fiancé and I could've applied for and probably would've been denied for because they just wouldn't have been a good fit. Also...I'm sorry, but given the fact that this is a RESCUE, not a breeder or whatever, they can't guarantee the breed of the dog ffs. Since they're a non-profit I don't think they have the funds for DNA tests when they're often funding medical treatment etc for the dogs they're rescuing. If you're heart set on adopting a breed, don't rescue I guess? We adopted our dog several days ago and we are in love. His foster family was amazing and we even have made a point to stay in touch with them so they can see how he's doing :) It took Becca/the fosters a few days to get back to us but the process was exactly as expected given the fact that they clearly wanted to extensively look through applications. He is such a wonderful fit in our family and we are really grateful we went through a rescue that clearly really cares about every dog they adopt out.

I have a well‑kept, fenced‑in backyard that borders open space. I filled out their form and waited for a response, but none came. Three weeks into the process, I reached out for an update--any update--and still received nothing. They have been extremely unprofessional. The term "ghosting" is fairly new to me, but I would say these people are being childish and petty. Support another agency--one that cares as much about the customer as they do about the rescued pup. Thanks for listening.
