Simply the best Sichuan restaurant in DFW. Tried lots of dishes and were never disappointed. Hotpot is amazing as well.

I've found the food quality here to be very good, however, the portion sizes are extremely small, especially for the price. I've ordered a $20 dish (the "hot pot beef") that maybe had 2 ounces of beef in it, and a similar amount of vegetables. Maybe three of those would be enough for a normal serving? I haven't had quite as extreme experiences with other dishes, but do expect to spend a lot if you want to eat a full meal. read more

Simply the best and super fast delivery. We enjoy Sichuan at least 1x a month. They have a great variety of what you would expect and a diversity in the menu that will have you trying new things like chicken gizzards. We first started coming here when they had just opened. I believe our first visit was the week they opened and we took a chance to eat here before going to H-Mart. We were very surprised at how much we liked it. I have tried other Sichuanese restaurants in the area, but nothing compares to this place. We came once a month and then moved farther south about half a year ago. While you would think there are great Sichuanese restaurants in Dallas, there are NONE that I can find. I made the trek the other day to come eat, and I realized how much I miss this place! I had their wonton appetizer with chili oil (I like to scoop out the chili oil and garlic to mix with my rice!) and the fried fish. The fish has a very light egg breading and had a good amount of chili peppers, but not too many. My one constructive criticism from when I first started coming here was they would put way too many chili peppers. I remember one dish had half protein and half chili peppers (not sure if you are supposed to eat them all, or if they're just there for flavor). I am glad they cut down a bit on those! Other notable dishes to try are their dumplings and their twice-cooked pork. Service is great here also. Even though I haven't been back in 7+ months, my server remembered me and even remembered I was sitting at the same table the last time I was there. I will gladly drive 40+ minutes to eat here. I was at this restaurant with several other Chinese friends on 1/15/2016. We frequently try out new restaurants in Plano, Richardson, and Dallas areas. Compared to other Sichuan restaurants in Plano and Richardson, we don't recommend Sichuan Folk for the following reasons. 1. Very pricey in terms of serving quantity. Each dish portion is only enough for 2, maybe 3, people. 2. Not authentic Sichuan food in sight. All the spicy dishes (Mapo Tofu and spicy boiling fish) are missing pepper corns, an essential part of Sichuan cooking. 3. The service was extremely poor. We constantly felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant despite everything being very slow to get to the table. I read more

Someone dropped off a menu on my door a day or two ago and since I love Chinese, decided to give them a shot tonight. We ordered: hot and spicy wonton 10/10 AMAZING flavor, not too spicy.(maybe I'll ask for extra spicy next time :) ) Almost wished I had just this for dinner. Sesame beef 10/10 Finally someone did this right. It has a hint of sweetness instead of the over powering sugar taste that most places seem to do. Yu shan pork - 8/10 Extremely good, never had this before so I was not sure what to expect. It was pretty damn good. This first impression has me looking forward to the next order. They were fast with delivery and while they are $1-2 more expensive than our usual places, the quality and flavor more than makes up for that. I put in an order about 20 minutes before I got there, and it said my order was done. I ordered a beef fried rice, and a sweet and sour chicken, but when I got there the hostess saw I was there but didn't speak to me for about 20 minutes. Another person came in and she spoke to him immediately and got him his order. She finally asked what I got than went back. 2 other people came in and she gave them there food while I was still sitting there waiting. I've been there for an hour at this point and the lady, talking to other guests points at me and says something I didn't understand, but both of the guest pointed and laughed at me while I was waiting. When the hostess waited til she had nothing to do she tried to help me. I showed her my phone with the order and the confirmation that it was this restraunt I ordered it from she walked away and didn't do anything. I gave up at this point and went to Dairy Queen. I've never left a negitive review before but I was steaming. I've never felt more disrespected, ignored, and treated so poorly at a place I already spent my money and tip on. They were rude they were unprofessional and I'll never in a million years give this place my money again. I would rate 0 stars if possible. I work as a server and have worked in the food industry my entire life, so I try to give as much leniency as I can, but this was absolutely ridiculous, and unacceptable. I would say this is one of the more authentic Szechuan eatery in DFW, definitely better than Sichuanese Cuisine, Royal Szechuan, and Szechuan King, slightly better than Fish House. Haven't tried Little Szechuan yet so don't know how they compare. The sauteed lamb is succulent, cold appetizer of beef and chicken are tasty, the soft tofu with fish has the right spicy kick. I really like this place. It's low key, not expensive, and the service is pretty fast. Food is really good - family style, nothing fancy, very solid, but spicy. The fried basil chicken is a really good pair with beer...the basil eggplant is delicious....the twice cooked pork is pretty solid although wasn't our favorite. This is our go to Delivery place! Food is really yummy and very reasonably priced! I love their dumplings with chili and their cashew chicken. I also get this spicy eggplant dish that's my fave! We live close and delivery is always under 30 mins. You know it's legit when there are little tiny grandmothers in there chowing down. I always trust a place that elders approve of. read more

This place opened a few months ago in the shopping center with the Korean supermarket. The inside is quite nice, decked out with wood flooring and wooden blinds. It was much more pleasant than most Chinese restaurants. The food was pretty decent, although the dish I ordered had far too much white pepper in it. Last minute find and wow we got lucky! I ordered the sesame beef and an order of the dumplings. The sesame beef came out hot but they were so good. The dumplings were perfectly seasoned. Amazing Authentic Chinese Food. We order Spicy Fish with Boiled Oil sauce, Szechuan style shrimp, Veggie Lo-Mein with Chicken and another fired fish. All food came promptly, Servers were very helpful and happy we order authentic Chinese food and not American-Chinese. Helped us understand what different foods and where in China they came from. I am not sure what the other reviewers find so amazing about this place. We ordered the wontons and two chicken dishes last night. The food was spicy, as I had requested. The meat quality was really poor and the food is dripping with oil. Chinese food doesn't have to be like this. I've traveled to Singapore and China. A comprehensive, almost overwhelming menu. it's hard to limit your choices, so the more people you bring to dine with you, the more you can order and sample. This is authentic Chinese food.
