I hate giving this spot a subpar rating since the service was beyond friendly and nice. I ordered the chicken sandwich which had some tenders inside. The chicken was seasoned well similarly to a lot of the other chicken shops in the area. However, the chicken was overcooked and dry. Maybe I'm spoiled having eaten at chicken shops in Nashville and all the other ones in SJ. The seasoning was not similar since the ones there are typically dipped in a hot oil seasoning mix where this has more of a dry rub. I also didn't taste any brine in the chicken which could've made it more tender and gives a little more leeway to overcook. The fries were all very flaccid, but were at least seasoned well. Pretty solid value fried chicken spot with a cute twist with their waffle sandwich variant. It's definitely high up in value with how much food you get in a combo. Sicko Chikz is situated in a small gas station lot as a grab and go food truck, so don't be expecting to eat here. Close in spirit to gas station food trucks of other names in the area. As far as service goes, we had a 25min wait for 4 people in front, so expect a bit of a wait if you're coming during peak hours. Menu is pretty straightforward with several combos to pick from, but differences aligned more with the item than combo. 2/5 = Fries were rather soft and cold, but well seasoned. Packed in a separate container, which is well appreciated since most other spots would just cram it all in the single styrofoam tray. That said, could use a bit of work here. 4/5 = Sandwiches are basically one tender long, makes part of the sandwich a bit "empty" and slightly imbalanced size-wise. Tenders are breast meat, reasonably moist with a slight dryness at the thickest part. The bread is heavily buttered in that good old artery clogging way; very nicely aromatic. Slaw is fresh. Sauce is pretty dope too. and they give you more on the side for dipping. Little packet of honey for the regular sandwich too. 4/5 = Waffle sandwiches were interesting, with reasonably good execution. Not sure if it's my cup of tea though. The waffle is on the brittle side, but has large sugar crystals for a nice crunch so the texture contrasts is very interesting. Sauce and syrup is on the side for this one. There's a bit too much sweetness and the sauce doesn't quite do enough for savory flavor, plus the moisture could use a bit of rebalancing (overall dry). Interesting to try though since it's objectively a great Belgian waffle, I'm just not sure about the combo. read more

Sicko Chickz's spice is no joke. I usually like to get medium spice when it comes to chicken sandwhiches, but this spice level is more on the hot side! The spice creeps up on you and when you eat the sandwhich right when it's hot and fresh, it's even spicier in my opinion. As for the fries, it's decent. There wasn't really a wow factor for me. Had the sauce drizzled on top of the fries! Overall would come back again and get mild instead. The tenders were generously seasoned, so be extra cautious about ordering your spice level! The best thing about the Sicko Chickz tender was that it stood alone without needing a dipping sauce. Crispy, spicy, and cooked perfectly. That's how good I believe the tender is. The Texas toast was nice and buttery, and great to snack on in between bites of crispy chicken. The fries in this combo set were okay; however, my friend separately ordered garlic parmesan waffle fries. Exceptional. GET THIS ITEM! It's brand new but I've been seeing them all over my Instagram and finally was able to make my round and damnnn this place was SHMACKKKKK ! And hella fat pieces of chicken !
