I had a few chewy pieces, but that did not detract me from enjoying the sandwich from start to finish. I sat at the bar, as I didn't need a table for one and it was going to be a quick lunch. I do enjoy bar service, and Peter (I believe) was the bartender/server for lunch service was very personable and recommend the hot beef, the dish I was after for this visit. Ambiance is a classic Wisconsin bar/grill with money taking machines (hopefully not) and of course, pull tabs. There are outside patio tables, as well as, inside table service. He recently opened a restaurant. Yay!! (You'd think.) We were seated in the dining room, with only two other tables in the room, and ordered an app, two drinks and two entrees. Drinks came out fine, but app came out after entrees. Hawaiian pig sandwich was bland, from the unseasoned, unsmoked pulled pork, to the unseared/non-grilled canned pineapple round, and the bland coleslaw. Season, people!! Incorporate BBQ sauce with your naked pulled pork. Sear your generic canned pineapple to enhance/bring out flavor, season the coleslaw. Make sure your limp french fries aren't featured in a Viagra ad. Pizza: cook the crust. Street corn pizza was sad, center of pizza crust was raw. Waitress was a fail. Other servers brought our food. After sitting for some time, my husband pilfered napkins from elsewhere and had to leave the dining room and go out to the bar to ask for BBQ sauce for my inedible sandwich. I'm allergic to fish…read moreso I was down for eating dinner while visiting the area, but I was going to opt for something else to eat. My cousin took my Mom & I here last Friday for dinner. We had the beer battered cheese curds to start, and the three of us split a pizza. Being from Chicago, I was questioning why we'd order pizza from a bar in this little town in Northwest Wisconsin but it was surprisingly good. All the food we had was good. They have a variety of beer here too on tap and in bottles. The atmosphere was decent for a Friday night with plenty of places to sit and hang out. I approve! :)
