Exactly what we needed on our last morning visiting Chippewa Falls. This place had a lot of options but all were mostly diner style. I ordered the veggie omelet with cheddar cheese and my friend ordered the hash. Both were served with toast and hash browns. The omelet was juicy, cheesy, and well cooked. The hash browns were solid and the toast was great too. We also loved that they just let the coffee pitcher on the table, makes it way easier. Prices were decent and food was solid. We'd definitely recommend.

Great breakfasts. Service is always good. Saturday and Sunday mornings are super busy so there may be a little wait.

Food was very good at a good price. Hash browns were very good, I added onions. Waffles were good and they do a good job with eggs.

I ordered the meat lover skillet and it was everything you want in a hearty breakfast--loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. The real star, though, was the hollandaise sauce. Rich, creamy, and clearly made with care, it tied the whole dish together beautifully. Paired with their toast, it was comfort food done right. The portions were generous, the food came out hot and fresh, and everything tasted homemade rather than rushed or generic. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're fueling up for the day or just craving a classic breakfast done extremely well, Egg Break Café delivers. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu. Highly recommend!

I Googled for places and this place had an outstanding score, so I was expecting good things. And that is exactly what we found here. It was a local diner scene with a little upscale flamboyance thrown in to make it something much more special. Food: Fresh and quality are the two main highlights on the menu. I noticed a lot of things were made in-house and prepared daily. The produce that was on each dish was bright, vibrant and at peak freshness. The berries were bold, the lettuce was crisp and the tomatoes were meaty and big. It kicked everything up a notch. And yes, the food was amazing because of it. Large portions to fill you right up and get you ready to get back on the road. Verdict: Awesome food without losing that small town feel made this an A+ stop. This will be a spot to visit again when we are back in the area.

First time here. I was in Chippewa Falls to see some family and found this place right next to the…read moreChophouse where we had dinner the night before. It's a nice spot, with a large windowed storefront and inviting signage. Inside is a large open area with the order counter toward the rear. An old brick wall, metal lighting fixtures, and a tin ceiling give it a vintage vibe. There are café tables with metal chairs for small groups. The noise level is reasonable, and it's easy to have a conversation. They have an extensive coffee menu, including tea lattes. But the one thing that really stood out was the bakery selection. They have items called Cornetto, which look like croissants. I was told they're similar and used in similar ways (fillings, glazes, etc.). We ended up getting a coffee, a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam), a Custard Danish, and an Apple Almond Scone. It didn't take long to get our order, and everything was amazingly good. The London Fog was made with loose-leaf tea and steeped well. The pastries were fresh, large, and very yummy. Everything was also very reasonably priced (you spend way more than this in most places -- and that's not something I usually fixate on). Excellent experience. Friendly service, excellent food and drinks, great value, and a warm atmosphere. If I could make one suggestion, it would be the metal chairs -- I just didn't find them very comfortable. Definitely on the "come back to" list!

Some items are definitely overpriced. However the feel of the establishment is very calmingread more

I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. First off, I was very impressed with the variety of flavors that were displayed (i.e. passionfruit, rhubarb, cardamon, kimchi, etc.) All the baked goods I got were fantastic- especially the cruffin. I was initially hesitant to order it because I'm not a fan when the exterior doesn't have that flakey/crunchiness. But I'm glad I tried the one here because the texture was perfect. As for the filling, it was a good balance of sweet and tart. Same thing for the croissant. When I ate the cruffin, I already knew the croissant was about to hit- and it did. Perfectly flakey and had that beautiful crunchy exterior. They definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate/almond filling either! Personally, it was a little too much for me but that's just a me thing Last but not least, the lavender vanilla shortbread was wonderful. You can actually taste the lavender and they added a perfect amount of salt to bring the flavors out! Aside from the delightful pastries, the coffee was lovely and the staff were super friendly. Nostalgic Bean is definitely a Altoona gem!

Chai latte was delicious, not too sweet, not too spicy and I love the variety of steamers available for kids. They even offered to make them kid temp! Space was cozy and had plenty of tables when we went (10am weekday).

I truly feel for the staff at this location. I overheard the cashier/wait staff tell a customer…read morethey were short staffed Sunday, June 28, 2026. With that said, and the lobby was filled every inch, wall to wall, my recommendation would have been to announce this struggle with their guests as they added their name to the wait list and let them make their own decision whether they stay or go. I opted to stay (BIG MISTAKE). The wait to be seated was easily 40+ minutes and not realizing at the time, if I thought this was bad, I had no idea the food to order to table would be the same or longer. I think there was 1 cook and they were in over their head by the demands coming in. 1 hostess (manager), 1 wait staff working one side of the room, and a 2nd wait staff on the other. No cashier. 2 guys bussing tables, wearing white plastic garbage bags stretched thin like an apron. Gordon Ramsey would have shut the restaurant down! My fiance' ordered Corn Beef and Hash, we needed a magnifying glass to identify IF there was ANY corn beef in this dish. We asked for the check with our meal and were ignored. I ended up leaving cash on the table and walking out. As departing the restaurant I was sure to tell other patrons coming in to turn around and run! We were there for 2-1/2 HOURS! Next time, put a tap on your wait list, tell your customers what is going on so they are not held captive. Terrible Experience!
