We were seated right away and our server came over shortly to take our drink order. We just missed happy hour by a couple of minutes, so we were disappointed with that. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds for an appetizer and they were huge! Came with ranch for dipping. I ordered a chicken salad to balance the cheese curds. It was delicious, with tasty chicken and toasted pecans. My husband wasn't as enamored with his meal. He ordered rotisserie chicken and brisket. While they had decent flavor, they were kind of dry. The brisket was swimming in bbq sauce which detracted from the flavor of the meat. The cheesy hashbrowns were greasy, the beans and coleslaw nothing spectacular. The cornbread muffin with honey butter was good. Our server checked on us a few times. The restaurant was clean and had a good vibe. It's not that anything was awful, it just didn't completely wow us.

We came by about 7:30 on a Saturday. There were just two of us. We had about a 15 minute wait before being taken to a table. It was immediately clear that the wait wasn't for a lack of empty tables, but a lack of staffing. Everyone there was extremely nice and helpful, but they were stretched so thin. We had a long wait to place orders, and for my husband to get his beer (it turned out they'd run out of his first request, but we didn't know for 15 minutes until we inquired), and for our food to arrive. The food was fine, too. We'd come here as part of the Curd Crawl, and Grizzly's has gigantic cheese curds. Really, they were almost too thick! They take several bites to eat. We'd also ordered small salads to balance with the cheese. I hope they get the staffing issues fixed, as it was apparent that the people there were doing everything they could.

Still one of the best low-cost restaurants in Eau Claire. We got a meal and drinks for about $17 apiece. Service was amazing and that atmosphere was quite nice with only a few people in the restaurant. food was better than I remembered definitely worth the $14

Ordered takeout here and it was ready when it was supposed to be. For some reason this place was hard for my GPS to find. The cheese curds were decent, kind of odd for being curds. Online ordering was smooth, I just didn't feel the love so I don't think I'd go back.

Portions very small, salads used to be great now mediocre. No seasoning on shrimp. Salmon was like half of what it used to be

The kids made the decision to head here since they all love the TR bread and cinnamon butter. The adults weren't thrilled but went along with the decision. I will say that the hostess did get us seated in a reasonable amount of time and service was not bad! Unfortunately I'm not a fan of their food. On this visit I had steak which I requested to be medium but it arrived more like well done. Their sweet potatoes and veggies are fine and their prices are fair, but I cannot bring myself to give TR (this location or any others I've been to) more than 3 stars. If you go, enjoy the bread and butter and more casual steakhouse vibes and don't have any expectations higher than that and you'll be just fine.

I got the country fried chicken. It was very good. I got a side of their Caesar salad and mac & cheese. I love that you get 2 sides. The Mac & cheese was very creamy, but my salad only had 5 croutons. Everyone else in my party got steak and they enjoyed it thoroughly. We sat at the Willie Nelson table. It was very fun. The bathrooms were also clean. Overall would recommend for large groups, solos, and dates, even if you don't like steak.

(Spoiler -- it was a delightful meal!) The Wissota Chophouse is inside the Cobblestone Hotel. It has a separate entrance that leads right into the dining room. It's not a very big space, but the table arrangements are comfortable, with different-sized tables to accommodate larger groups. We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated right away. Menus and waters came quickly, and our server checked in with us immediately. In addition to taking our drink order (Huckleberry Old Fashioned for me), our server did a nice job of explaining the menu items. He was also candid about the dishes he didn't think were the "best" choices. I really appreciate it when a server feels connected to the customers and confident enough in their own palate to share honest opinions. We ordered the calamari appetizer. Our server wasn't crazy about that choice, but we went ahead anyway. It was "okay." It's sautéed rather than fried, so you have to set your expectations accordingly. It was hot, flavorful, and a good portion. However, like a lot of sautéed calamari, the rings were overly chewy :( They also provide a complimentary bread service (French?), which was fresh and warm, served with butter and a couple of different salts. That was unique and very good. Our entrées included Ribeye, Chicken Ballotine, Carbonara, and Sea Bass (for me). These items are à la carte, so we also ordered sides of Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was served at the right temperature. The Ribeye was excellent, and big enough to share. The Chicken Ballotine was tender and flavorful. My Sea Bass was amazing, though the portion was a bit small. Both sides were very good, especially the Brussels Sprouts, which had just the right amount of crisp. We saved room for dessert and shared two -- the Chocolate Cake and the Raspberry Tiramisu. Both were excellent. Overall, the evening was a big success. I really appreciated our server's help and attention throughout the night (thanks, Bruce). The food was wonderful (with one exception). The atmosphere was upscale but casual. It's not a cheap dinner, but for what you get, I feel it's a good value. Overall, a memorable evening -- I'd gladly return.
