Awesome food, service, and atmosphere. We were greeted right away when we came in and when we sat down at the bar. Bartender offered us the drink menu, and they had wine and beer, which was nice. We got the dirty fries which were super yummy. And then our food came pretty quickly after, so very fast and great service! Burger and chicken fried sandwich we ordered were both great sizes and pretty fairly priced. We finished the meal with a piece of their chocolate carnal sea salt cheesecake, which was a great end to the meal. Went there the other day with my husband and son. Waitress wasn't very friendly. When our food arrived the burger bun was ice cold and both mine and my son's fries were burnt. The waitress didn't come to our table but one time for a second to ask how everything was we told her what the issues were she never tried to fix it other then ask me if I wanted a new bun. Didn't ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks. Dropped off our ticket and didn't come back to collect our money. We had to leave it on the table she didn't even notice we had left she was to busy talking to the other waitress with hot pink hair. I do not recommend this place to eat. Not to mention it was freezing in the restaurant. read more

My husband and I were in LA Grande for a couple of weeks and Side A was highly recommended to us by family. We went twice and the food was absolutely amazing. Lots of variety. However we were served both times by a waitress Ryan, who was rude, inconsiderate, and made us feel that we were a burden to even come in. She clearly did not want to be there. We are local and decided to try Side A for the first time again in a couple of years as our first experience was not super great. We want to support our local community but this makes it hard. We had four in our party, it took almost 15 minutes after being seated for anyone to take our drink order. When they finally brought the beers out they were warm. After another 20 minutes went by they came and took our food order. We waited for what seamed like forever to finally get our food. When my burger came out it was still raw in the middle, enough to still be bleeding, it soaked the bottom bun and there was blood on my plate. I know they serve their burgers on the medium side but this was ridiculous. It took a good 10 minutes to flag down our waitress, she took the burger back and ordered a new one. We had to flag her down again, mind you everyone else in the party had their food and had finished eating by the time we were able to flag her down, she had forgotten about my burger. The new one was cooked better. My party ordered another beer while they waited for me to eat, the beer came after I was done and again was warm. We were in there for well over two hours, the service was horrible and the food was mediocre at best, the fries were greasy and over done and the chicken added to my friends salad was $6.00 for five 1x1 pieces of chicken. Unfortunately we wont be eating there again it was less than desirable food and we were pretty disappointed with the whole experience. Side A has one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The tomato jam is addictive and I could probably have it on anything. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and all the food is better than you would expect in a small town gastro pub. Outstanding beer, dogs allowed on the patio and pork belly? Is this heaven? I truly enjoyed my meal at Side A Brewing. At the tail end of a ten day road trip I was wanting more than just the usual brew pub dining. I found that at Side A. I started with a phenomenal cup of beer cheese soup. Soups are a tricky dish. The soup I had was packed with deep flavors that can only come from attention to detail and good ingredients. Obviously someone took the time to craft a yummy cup that would make grandma quit cooking. For dinner I chose the special; an Asian glazed pork belly sandwich. Pork belly!! I'm not sure what genius works in the kitchen at Side A but I can tell you that they made me a very happy man. Just fatty enough but cooked properly so as to render out enough fat but leaving the meat tender. I splurged for dessert and chose the locally made cheesecake with cherries. Should this be my last night on Earth at least I'll leave a very happy man. I only wish that I lived closer so that I could make Side A my go to brew pub. If you pass through La Grande and don't stop in then you will have missed out on a true gem. The food at Side A surpasses restaurants that charge three times as much in Portland. Yum! The food was incredible. We had the loaded fries and a house burger and were impressed! The flavors were on point without being over the top. The lemon cheesecake was divine. The beers were okay. We each were able to find one we enjoyed but for the most part we found them to be a little metallic and smelled a little funky. I loved the building! We stopped in here on our way out to Wallowa Lake and I feel like we just had the best luck to find and go here. Very friendly staff, fun atmosphere and the food was fantastic. We started with some dirty fries. Crispy, spicy, full of flavor and gone all too quickly. My brother god the pork belly tacos and he could barely finish all 3 they were so stuffed full. My mom and I both got the Dirty Chicken Salad. Spicy but not overwhelming in heat. Delicious crispy chicken with similar toppings as the dirty fries so I was in heaven. I would tell anyone to stop by there if they happen to be in town or just driving through. read more

Seriously great food as far as breweries go. High quality meats and sauces made from scratch as well as fresh produce. Their beer was good though didn't really stand out from other similar craft brewers in the region. Definitely recommend overall. read more

Increased stars! Went on a Wednesday this time. Had the Mac n cheese with bacon..was pretty good. Dirty fries were ok. I'm not a Chipotle fan...service was much better than last time. We hadn't planned on stopping at a brewery for lunch as it was just barely 11:00AM. So glad we did. Excellent food and great beer. Had the oatmeal brown with the pork belly sandwich.
