I can't believe that I walked past this place multiple times and never acknowledged that it was a brewery. This brewery is definitely a hidden gem just down the street from Todos Santos Park. We were here on a Wednesday evening for the Home Alone Trivia night and it was so fun! There was a taco truck outside and I ordered a plate from La Kura who brought the food to our table. Their food was delicious by the way. Side Gate has different food trucks every night so there's a chance that La Kura may not be there on the day you go. But I think they are there on Wednesdays. Anyway, Side Gate is awesome. It's very spacious inside and outside, and the staff is super friendly. We enjoyed our time there and can't wait to come back for another trivia night.

This gem is located on the corner of the street that literally has a Side Gate you can enter through. They had a food truck outside, not sure if they are featuring deferent food vendors or if this is their own, but it's always nice when there's food options. Service was quick and easy, super casual and ordered from the counter. They have an apple amount of seating indoors and out. We chose this place to enjoy a drink since it was beautiful out. Definitely would come back

Love this spot! It within walking distance of todos santos park and they have delicious beer and usually have a good food truck outside for some good snacks when I went we got a flight of beers and some tacos from a food truck called La Kura. Everything was delicious! We sat outside and there are areas with fire pits to keep you warm . Our server was so nice and would come by regularly to make sure everything was going well.

There's a fantastic brewery in central Concord, conveniently located near a variety of restaurants. You can bring in food from outside, and there's always a food truck offering diverse cuisines. The outdoor patio is spacious and inviting, with multiple seating options, including patio chairs and tall bar tables. Inside, there are two levels of seating, providing plenty of room to relax. Most of their beers are brewed in-house, ensuring freshness and quality. The staff is friendly, courteous, and welcoming, adding to the inviting atmosphere. It's a highly family-friendly and dog-friendly spot, making it a great place to enjoy a pint or two for all who are of legal drinking age.

Such a great spot! We are always looking for a casual place to hang out outdoors that is also gated so the kids can't escape. Love that we get to add Side Gate to the rotation. Beers are great, staff is kind, they have pop up food options, trivia, etc. Really well thought out concept. Excited to come back!

We really love the variety of local breweries and tap rooms there are to explore so close to home. Side Gate is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The remodel of the place really opened up the building, with high ceilings, upstairs seating and large glass garage door style doors that open up to the wonderful patio. Lots of seating inside and out. They have a good beer selection and offer beer flights too. There is often a food truck in the parking lot, snacks for sale at the bar and I'm pretty sure you can bring food with you. Great beer and seltzers, friendly staff and close to home perfect!!

I've been coming here for a couple of years. Beers here are fresh and a wide selection. staff are much friendlier than breweries at walnut creek. the inside seating is heated on cold days unlike other breweries. I love the rotating food trucks too. my favorite is the indonesian food truck. their Roti are amazing pairing with beer.

Sidegate Brewery is hands down one of my favorite local spots in Concord! The beer here is next level--great selection, excellent brewing, and something for every beer enthusiast to enjoy. The owners are fantastic people who are passionate about what they do and it shows. They've been incredibly welcoming, even letting us film our beer podcast, Hops and Houses, here several times. They even gave us the opportunity to do a pre-grand opening podcast and tour, which was such a cool experience. (Find it on YT) Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking for a fun, laid-back spot to hang out, Sidegate Brewery is a must-visit. Amazing beer, great vibe, and outstanding people--what more could you ask for? Bonus - incredible Mexican food truck out there most days. Owner is Robert, give it a try!

Apparently this isn't a brewery it's a daycare with beer. The beer is great but they let toddlers run around and scream all day.

The vibe is casual and family-friendly, with a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating. TVs are scattered around for catching a game, and if you're in the mood to do more than just drink, they've got a couple of pinball machines, a free-play Street Fighter II cabinet, and a billiards table. It's a fun, low-key setup whether you're there for a quick pint or settling in for the afternoon. Service has been good every time with friendly staff. The beer selection is where they really shine. Core beers like Nightshade and Zombrew anchor the lineup, backed up by a solid rotation of seasonals, sours, etc., so there's always something new to try alongside old favorites. They've also got premade cocktail options for anyone not in a beer mood. If you want to take some home, they do growler and crowler fills, plus they keep cans on hand and ready to go. On the food side, they've got snacks in-house, plus a rotating food truck that changes day to day -- check their website before heading over so you know what's parked outside. And if none of that appeals, you're welcome to bring your own food in. Prices are a good value across the board. If you're around on a Thursday, they run trivia night with Geeks Who Drink, a solid excuse to make it a regular stop rather than a one-off. Overall, this is a great spot for a local craft beer and some laid-back hangout time. I'd recommend it to anyone -- beer geeks who want to dig into the seasonal lineup, or anyone who just wants a chill, family-friendly spot to grab a pint and catch a game.

What started as a convenient local hangout has become one of our favorite places over the last three years. Hop Grenade has truly become a second home. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely care about their customers. We love seeing familiar faces and catching up with the regulars. It has such a great community feel that can be hard to find these days. The beer selection is hands down one of the best around, and the prices are hard to beat. I also love that they've expanded their offerings to include wine and wine-based cocktails, which means there's something for everyone. The food is great too! We always look forward to Wing Wednesday, and the flatbreads are one of our go-to orders. One of our favorite things about Hop Grenade is bringing friends and family here when they're visiting from out of town. We recently took some wedding guests to the Thursday night music and market event, and they absolutely loved it. One of them even joked that he was ready to move here after experiencing the atmosphere. That's the kind of place Hop Grenade is...it makes people feel welcome and part of the community right away. Because Hop Grenade has been such a big part of our lives, booking the Tap Bus for our wedding was a no-brainer. It felt special to incorporate something so personal to us into our big day. For those who don't know, Hop Grenade has an awesome vintage VW bus outfitted with taps. Not only did it make for a unique and fun focal point at our wedding, but it also served some of the best beer, cider, seltzer, and wine our guests could ask for. We received so many compliments throughout the night about both the Tap Bus and the drink selection. Justin and his team were fantastic to work with from start to finish and helped make our wedding even more memorable. Whether you're stopping by for a drink, grabbing some food, attending one of their community events, or looking for a unique beverage service for an event, Hop Grenade delivers every time. We're lucky to have them in our community and can't recommend them enough.

Kids were running absolutely EVERYWHERE while the parents sat around drinking like they had hired invisible babysitters. No supervision, no discipline, no "hey, get down from there"--nothing. At one point I was genuinely wondering if the parents even knew where their kids were. There are literally signs telling people to stay out of certain areas, yet kids were running all over the newly planted plants like it was recess. Look, I have nothing against kids, but a brewery is not a playground. If your kids need somewhere to sprint, climb, yell, and run laps, there are plenty of actual playgrounds nearby. Take them to Pixieland or COPA across the street and let them burn off some energy there. And maybe keep an eye on them while you're enjoying your beer... because watching two adults drink while their kids are running around unsupervised is not exactly the "relaxed afternoon" I came here for. The beer was good, I'll give them that. Unfortunately, the atmosphere felt more like Chuck E. Cheese with an IPA menu. Definitely not the peaceful brewery experience I was expecting.
