The staff here is not a baby sitter and should not have to remind parents of their responsibilities as parents. I've seen the staff have to remind parents that their kids can't run wild and play in the streets only to see the parents get upset and complain about being asked to watch their children. I was really looking forward to checking out this new space. We stopped by on a Monday night for a beer. The view was great and the indoor space was nicely decorated. Normally, I do not rate places by service but in this case I will. The bartender was very efficient, but she was the only one working. It took a long time to get a drink and when I finally placed the order, they were out of one of the beers. We had to bus our own table in order to find a place to sit. Hopefully they are just working out the kinks and we will try it again. read more

Kudos to the staff here. They are some of the nicest people I've met. For what they have to deal with they are extremely professional. I'm not sure why people come to a brewery and let their kids run around unsupervised. If you want to have a drink and not have to watch your children maybe stay home? There are group of kids running around as well as small children with no one watching them. If the behavior would not fly in a regular restaurant why would it be ok here?!?!? It's a beer garden not a playground. The owner should be concerned about liability and put some rules in place. We came to their temporary location and wow! Their beer is fantastic and the pizza is to die for. I can't remember the name of the pizza but it had tater tots on it! Service was fast and the bartenders were so nice! Their bathrooms were super clean too, although a bit a cramped. They had a sand box looking thing and an open area for kids to run around. I've been to Calicraft a few times now, and can safely say the quality of the beer & vibes are both consistently high. If you're looking for a relaxed environment, fantastic local brews on draft, and laid-back service, Calicraft is a great option. If you're up for a crawl, add in Mike Hess up the street. While there is plenty of warm, comfortable seating inside, I've always been outside on the picnic tables. The bike rack & immediate proximity to the Canal Trail makes this a bike/beer lover's dream spot. Food options depend on which food trucks they have visiting; last night, wood-fired pizzas dominated. Kids run amok (the area can feel like you're drinking beer in the middle of an elementary school recess), which makes this a great choice for parents. I'm more of an adult-vibes-only drinker, but there's no reason to avoid Calicraft. Two kolsch's & a tip were about $18. Two beers and a couple of hours of relaxing after a ride felt completely worth it to me. They played fun, energetic rock jams & the fire pits added a cozy feeling to an autumn afternoon. Let's level set this review, a snap shot of Calicraft at this moment in time. The brewery is under construction, so there's a makeshift beer tailer and expensive $$$ ($20 personal pizza) food vendors. Beer, good! Food, idk. Because why bother eating with a horrendous ambiance (construction backdrop in the middle of suburbia). The bad: All websites need to update how this establishment currently looks, not how it looked (pre-construction) or how it will look (when the place is phenomenal). The good: In 2026, I promise to visit when the venue is fully complete and give an updated review, when the place is likely going to be amazing, again. All in all, what a waste of time to travel to this brewery as presently providing service, when there are soooo many other options. read more

The beer was okay but nothing spectacular but I like the family-friendly vibe. My review is mainly about the service. There are two issues. 1. Before going, I checked their website, it listed two food trucks for Sunday, but only one (a pizza place) was there. 2. There was also a strange issue with the charges. After I swiped my card, the screen didn't advance, but it showed $16.94 (including tax). The bartender said the payment went through so it was good. Now, my credit card showed a $30 charge and, the next day, a $9.96 refund. My guess is they charge a $30 deposit for a flight and then refund the difference, possibly keeping a ~$4 "service fee"? I wouldn't mind tipping for good service, but that should be voluntary, just not hidden in the billing. read more

Calicraft makes great tasting beer right in the heart of Walnut Creek. They have a lot of outside seating and a fair amount of inside also. You can book different areas for an event, depending on your needs. For an inside room I was scoping, the price is around $10 per person, which does not include any beer. Awesome brewery hidden off the main roads and in the back of a big parking lot in a little industrial complex! Plenty of parking, dog friendly, lots of outdoor seating (and some indoor seating), super friendly and helpful staff. And the beers were super tasty and reasonably priced (I did a flight of 4 to try a bunch). They had a food tent making pizzas outside and I guess they have other food tents/trucks and events throughout the week. Definitely coming back here often to try more beers. read more

Met a group of women at Calicraft Brewing in the evening. It had ample seating on the inside with bench-style tables. I was able to secure an open space with a nice long bench. I liked how the establishment had twinkle lights decorating the interior. Outside the establishment, there were plenty of benches, but unfortunately, there were no heating lamps and sitting outside on a cold evening was too uncomfortable. I'm sure it would be nice to sit outside when the weather is warm. The brewery does not serve food, but they had a pizza food truck on this particular day by the name of Citizen Pizza Company. Please check the calendar online on the establishment's website to see which food truck will be there ahead of time. The service by Citizen Pizza Company was very unpleasant. I did not have a great experience with the pizza owner as he was really rude and snappy. Also, upon arriving the establishment there was a lady who appeared to be the manager of Calicraft Brewing that was extremely short and demanding. Overall, I did not get a welcoming vibe from this establishment, but I did appreciate being able to meet with friends at a clean venue with an open space. read more

While doing a little wedding anniversary trip to the bay, my husband and I came to Calicraft brewing because it was near our Airbnb. They have a large parking lot with plenty of outdoor seating. The indoor seating is limited, but there are spots. I love that they are both dog and kid-friendly, as we had our two large dogs with us. They appear to have a rotating food truck, and it was serving pizza the night we were there. They have a nice variety of beers on tap as well as some of their beers for sale to-go. Whenever I visit home, this is the go-to spot to meet up with friends. This a cool spot & I had no idea it was in Concord! My husband & I have tried & enjoyed their Cool Kidz that we picked up at our local Whole Foods so we were excited to visit the actual brewery. The parking lot is quite large & the outdoor seating space is large as well, a lot of covered & uncovered tables & lawn chairs to choose from. They also have a few large tables indoors that you can sit at. They have a variety of beers & spritz as well as slushy spritz! What a fun little spot! And when I say "little", I don't mean that literally. This place is actually pretty damn huge. Geezuuuss... whyyy has it taken me soooo long to finally get here?! I remember seeing the signs on the street when this place first opened. It's down the street from one of my favorite weekend farmer's markets. I've been telling myself for years that I was gonna stop by. Welp, FINALLY made it here last year! And I can honestly say that I'm a fan. Good beer, good vibes, and good times! If you know me, you know that I'm a wino at heart. But every now and then, I gotta have a cold one or two. Dropped by on a Friday night and the place was bustling! Calicraft is located all the way at the end of a very inconspicuous parking spot on a random street in Walnut Creek. You would never know that this place was here if you weren't looking for it. They have a few a-frames out on the street which kind of helps. They've got a huge outdoor patio space that's decked out with several tables, lawn chairs, and barrels. There's also a smaller indoor area where you can sit inside, but the patio is definitely where it's at. It was super busy but all of the tables and barrels were spaced out pretty far and a lot of people were wearing masks even while they were outside. They had a live band playing and Cousin's Maine Lobster truck was there shelling out their lovable lobster rolls and clam chowder. Of course I had to get me some lobsta! They don't do taster flights here, but they'll let you try a splash of anything before you buy it. The beertenders are also super helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to recommendations based on your palate. I'm big on sours but sometimes they end up being a bit too tart for me. This was the case with their barrel aged sour blueberry. The beertender recommended that I try their popular Tiki Time tropical wheat and it was a hit. Ended up enjoying on the patio with my lobster roll and clam chowder. They have a pretty versatile tap list which I can appreciate. Many times I've gone to breweries where the majority of their taps are IPA's. Not everyone gets down like that, and I'm glad that these newer breweries are noticing this and adjusting to the times. Variety is definitely key. At night, the patio is all lit up with string lights. Didn't see any heat lamps, but that would be tough with the large space that they have anyways. Definitely a super fun spot to kick it, especially when it's warm out. Now that I've finally been here, I have no excuses. It's too close to not stop by again soon. read more

Calicraft is an awesome neighborhood taproom and one of my favorite places to meet with friends in the area. From the solid draft menu to the lively outdoor seating area, Calicraft provides the ideal venue for a cold beer on a laid-back afternoon. The menu is small but offers something for everyone, from fruity spritzers to bold double IPAs. My personal is favorite is The City West Coast IPA, and I've also tried the Cruz California lager, which I would consider ordering again. There is usually a food truck onsite - I have seen taco trucks during each of my visits. You can also order cans to take home (and enjoy the neat designs on the labels). In terms of ambiance, the spacious outdoor seating area is set far enough from the street and nearby buildings that it is not readily evident that you are sitting in the middle of a business park. There is live music on weekends, and the overall atmosphere is family and pet friendly (each group seemed to have at least one). I can definitely see why Calicraft has become a neighborhood fixture. read more

"Giant Festival + Beer of Course" Every time I visit this brewery I am amazed how many patrons they have. Today, it was like a farmers market. There were quite a few plant and handicraft sellers right beside the brewery. What will they think of next? Despite the crowd, there was plenty of seating, and I quickly found a table under the shade. Currently, you have to use a QR code and order and pay from your table. I'm not a fan of this and prefer a more personal touch. However, my order was delivered promptly, and the process worked well.
