The atmosphere was somber and reminded us of something like a wake. This building and space they have has lots of potential. Couple that with their good drinks and maybe they can compete. Until then, I'd stick with the other guys in town if you had to make a choice.

I guess it's a place I'll have to come back to time to time. This place is more known for their sours. I have to agree. The strong blueberry one was really good. It was packed with flavour, thanks to the blueberries. Some of the other fruit sours were a bit of a miss. I had high expectations for the strawberry one but didn't really get strawberry unless I thought about it... My fave thing about their flights are the drink cards that go behind each flight glass. It was a nice touch to be reminded of what you got and read the vision behind the drink. (Almost wish the photos weren't of the cans but more of a moodboard to convey the flavour's vibe).

This food truck was owned by a lovely wife and husband who were quite pleasant to speak to. Going into the Beach Cat brewery made me feel as if I was a coconut in a palm tree enjoying the light breeze and good company. The ambiance was beautiful there was indoor and outside seating with games available. It was a gorgeous place with an amazing view. I would recommend this place!

I ran my finger along this wooden item and there was a sharp part alongside it that might have been from a piece of wood splintering off of it. I ended up eating around the middle of the burger in order to avoid any wood that might have been left inside it. Please do not use these items inside the food as they are not well made. Instead of enjoying the food I ended up being paranoid about what foreign object might have been left inside it.

The place wasn't too busy and the bartender poured us a sample of four different whiskeys. The #11 was my fave. A nice rye. Not too spicy. I also purchased a bottle of dark cherry infused whiskey and a 4 pack of Irish Red Ale, which was nice. They had a DJ with trivia on a Thursday night.

We only got one beer and it was a beer type we don't often get, a Dunkel style beer with a funny name called Creepy Uncle. The logo is fun on the bottle and it will be a name for a beer I won't soon forget. With the beer in the flavor profile you can expect to find maltiness witha hint of vanilla and nuttiness with an appropriate amount of sweetness. The beer is smooth and light bodied. It's a good one to sit down to and relax when you have that desire to unwind.

When I entered, I was immediately greeted with a smile and a welcome, which felt good. I drove an hour to get there and it just set the tone right away. I was low-key impressed and thankful to have a friendly bartender, as the last time I went (2 yrs. Ago) I felt the service wasn't the best. This was a different bartender. I asked about their brews and was informed they'd switched a bit. So, I ordered the Hazy and the Blonde, both of which are brewed in-house by SAAL. They were. both great. Good body on the IPA and almost no bitterness. The blonde was good too, although blondes aren't my typical go-to personally, so maybe I'm not the best judge of that. The owner came and spoke with me for a minute about their business and how 2020 had inspired them to brew the Hazy. I think it's called "All Love" or something similar, and it had something to do with the riots of 2020 and how we needed more love in the world. I dunno, felt inspired. It was a good conversation and I felt that the owner is passionate about what he does. Which I really liked. A business I want to support. The poutine I ordered was good but not great. I don't usually order poutine so I had low expectations but it just feels like it's just in the menu for the sake of being on the menu. Nothing felt inspired or original and this dish would benefit greatly from a little recipe switch up. Maybe use a better gravy and crispier fries? It could be great. This didn't detract from the experience for me, as like I said, I had no expectations from the food. I just wanted something to stave off the hunger until I got home.

Standouts include their "adult" grilled cheese with apple and a delicious tomato bisque, and the Zombie appetizer: a monster mound of tots with Mac & cheese, chili, and bacon...my goodness. My fave beers so far are the Three Sided Coin, a light-bodied mild rye bitter that is super food-friendly, and A Point In Time, their medium-bodied earthy oatmeal stout. A must try if you're in the area. A lot of pride in product here. Highly recommended!
