Great little local place in Madison. I work on Dickerson Pike, so I'm so grateful to have something other than an Arby's or McDonald's close by. I don't like chain restaurants much these days, but there are a few nostalgia points that I miss, whether they are actually good or just good from memory remains to be seen, so hear me out. This place was awesome. Service was quick and super polite. The hashbrown casserole allowed me to relive my Cracker Barrel childhood, but way better, and without a nearby interstate exit ramp and 153 grumpy senior citizens in a shitty gift shop. The veggie focaccia sandwich, which I got with no pesto but added mayo, took me back to a very specific Schlotzsky's deli sandwich from the early 00's that got me through some tough times as a young, mostly uninformed vegetarian idiot. I would come back here without question. Even without my redneck fond-memory throwbacks, the place is solid. read more

Wonderful neighborhood cafe! The menu is varied without being too much. A great selection of sandwiches, soups and salads, breakfast items and baked goods. Espresso drinks and delicious drip coffee (try the pecan!) is available also. The staff are incredibly kind people and the food is good too! The only complaint I have is that like almost every other restaurant, they are closed on Sunday. There are no cafes or breakfast places in Madison to visit on a Sunday morning and if Sidekicks were, I'd be there every weekend! read more

Lunch with work friends. We had been eyeing this place for several months and decided to try it after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed! Everything we had was excellent. They said everything was homemade and I believe it! They also have loaves of fresh bread and other homemade sweets for sale. The restaurant was a typical 1960's Tennessee ranch house that was converted, but don't let that deter you. Everyone was super friendly and the service was excellent. We really wanted to like this place. It was a Saturday late morning. All the East Nashville places had long wait times, so we drove a little bit further to try this "5 Star" breakfast place. It's basically an old house turned into a restaurant. You find a seat and order at the counter, then they bring out your food. Pros: No wait for a seat Live music in one of the rooms Broad range of menu items to choose from Friendly staff Plenty of parking Cons: Even though I was the only one in line, I waited for 10 minutes to place our order while the cashier took a large phone order. She was apparently the only one who could use the iPad to take my order? My latte was bitter and just tasted like coffee and milk. Definitely not smooth and no foam. My husband got their "famous biscuits" and gravy. The biscuits were possibly underbaked. They were flat, and basically tasteless other than a raw doughy flavor. The gravy had an interesting spice in it...maybe garlic? Just wasn't appealing. Tater tots were undercooked and soggy. Bacon had a good flavor (what bacon doesn't?) but was limp, not crispy. Breakfast burrito is just okay. Some of this may just be taste preferences, but overall it was a disappointing experience. read more

Such a great local spot for breakfast, lunch, or coffee! My mom and I visited today, and although they were busy during the lunch rush, service was still excellent and quick. It also smelled wonderful inside. We both got the house salads, which were very fresh. My mom got the chicken salad on top with the honey and celery seed dressing, and she thought it was delicious. I got the roasted chicken breast with Catalina dressing, which was so good! The cold brew is awesome as well. I will definitely be back. read more

Everything I've tried here has been fresh and reasonably priced. I don't usually like breakfast burritos, but theirs was excellent with some tasty salsa...not too spicy. They also have an excellent offering of baked goods. The staff are welcoming and the service has been fast. The only constructive criticism I can offer is for them to return to the previous gluten-free hash brown casserole recipe...which was amazing! This is my reason for four stars instead of five. My family went there for this dish and now it's gone:( The new recipe unfortunately lacks flavor and adds gluten back in. But hey, it takes time to get the recipes right. I had high hopes, which were sorely let down. I wanted to get a turkey bacon sandwich with avocado and Mayo on it. Whenever I tried to modify the BLT, the worker acted like it was super stressful and was getting upset about it. Then I was charged extra for the avocado and turkey, which I was fine with except when I got the actual sandwich, it only had turkey and Mayo on it. The worker told me that they refused to put avocado on it, which I still don't understand. But even when I got the actual sandwich they didn't even put the bacon on it! I should have just ordered a turkey and Mayo sandwich and it would have been cheaper. I am super unhappy with the service and food. read more

It was alright, but kind of bland. I had the breakfast burrito, and it was nothing special. Just your basic eggs and some fixings wrapped in a tortilla. It didn't have any flavor. It was served with some bland salsa/pico de Gallo. Again, not much flavor. The hash brown casserole was tasty, but basically just rich and cheesy. On the other side, I did enjoy the coffee bar. Nice place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. My friends and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but not overwhelming. You go up to the counter to order and the menu is very easy to look over - breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, and sides. All 3 of us got iced lattes. I got an iced mocha and WHOAH so. much. chocolate. It seemed like a desert drink. Next time I will just get the iced latte like my friends did. They are both vegetation so got the breakfast burrito without meat and were pleased. I got the melted pimento cheese & bacon biscuit. It was good, but could've used some pepper jelly on it or a sauce to break up the biscuit. We sat outside because it actually didn't feel like hell outside and this was beyond their control but we were fighting off flies the whole time. Maybe some fans could've prevented this. read more
