The coffee was okay but the prickly pear sparkling limeade was horrendous and went straight down the drain. The avocado toast was fine and the gf bread was not too dry to hold together. We also tried lox but they really do need to look into getting gf bagels. The lox on the gf bread didn't really work because they really skimped on the cream cheese. Like I mean a pitiful amount for 2 big thick pieces of gf bread. Also, we just finished eating and belly rumblings are already happening so the food may or may not have been cross-contaminated with gluten. We know this is a risk whenever we go out to eat but this is important for celiacs to know. Do I think we'd go again? No, its not worth the drive or the price. read more

The coffee was so good that I actually had two drinks: I started with a Havana Latte with my meal and followed it up with a Chai Latte. Chai is one of my all-time favorite drinks, and I absolutely loved theirs--it has a wonderful, truly artisanal flavor. As for the food, the breakfast was incredibly delicious. My girlfriend Isabel and I literally ordered the exact same omelette, and we were both so happy with how good it tasted. I love this cafe! They have such nice seating on their patio outside and offer a great menu of coffee, food items, and alcoholic beverages. I recommend their rosemary latte or their golden monkey latte is great too! We also tried their wine Wednesday happy hour special which is a great deal of 3 different wines and a charcuterie board for $15. The wines were good, the board could have been elevated a bit more with more of a variety of cheeses, crackers, and meats. When visiting my Yelp bestie, she was super excited to show me her off the menu special matcha. She knows I'm obsessed with matcha, so was excited to show me this. They have a honey rosemary latte here. She asked for the honey rosemary syrups in a matcha latte instead and BOYY! is it good. I highly recommend trying this one. We ordered our matchas to go and they came out pretty quickly. I also got a very yummy lemon pound cake I devoured while we waited. In addition to these treats, I decided to buy two bags of beans to take home with me. I got a light roast and medium roast. I am so sad that I've finished the medium roast. Their beans are SO GOOD. We enjoyed this place which was recommended by an online article. We stopped on a Sunday around noon. The restaurant is decorated in industrial chic style, clean and comfortable. Outdoor seating is available. Admittedly, the service was not overly warm but completely efficient and timely. Our waitress was extremely attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. I had the blackened shrimp and grits with two over easy eggs. Absolutely delicious. My daughter had the Farm Breakfast and she too loved it. The drinks were fabulous. I have been hearing about Frothy Monkey since I moved to Music City, and I was so excited to finally check out their East Nashville location! A friend and I stopped in for a coffee date on a Tuesday and were able to grab a table right away! I'm told this is one of their "less busy" locations - but there were still plenty of people here on a weekday afternoon. We shared their Artisan Cheese Board, which had a nice mix of textures and flavors! This is great for a light shareable snack - and we were especially surprised with how tasty their house-made Pimento Cheese is. I also ordered the Havana Latte, which I've dubbed the best latte I've had in Nashville! This is the perfect sweet and creamy coffee, without being too sweet. It was so good that I dragged my husband back to this location the following weekend so that he could try it too. I was excited to try this location based on a friend's recommendation but was highly disappointed with my experience. When I sat down, I waited over 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff. Most of the tables were empty, so it didn't look like I arrived during rush hour. After 15 minutes without so much as a glass of water, I got up and went to the takeout counter to order food. I ordered the Hive Bowl which should've come with vegan sausage but I was asked if I wanted regular sausage for some reason so instead I tried it with the mushrooms. We went to frothy monkey on a Wednesday night for "wine down Wednesday". Overall, the food was delicious - the pork Barbacoa was a big hit and the PMP and Betsy were great sandwiches. We did not get the wine flights, but the glasses of Syrah and Blanche were good the price. The staff was nice as always, just like during breakfast time. I instead had sausage on hash, it was pretty good except the spice in the sausage dominated just a bit too much. Can't complain though about the amount of sausages, there was plenty. My wife got the California breakfast, pretty much standard fare, but with a nice chunk of avocado. Our lattes were decent but the froth was thin. The espresso was also a bit weak for a robust latte. This is the third Frothy Monkey I've been to and I must say they are consistent at all locations. I was involved in a live theater event nearby and was drawn in. I will talk about all the usual metrics of food, service and ambiance. I've been to this location four times in the past few days because of it's proximity and the fact that there are few other eateries in the area. It is a coffee shop, and the coffee is very good. I'm not into elaborate coffee drinks, I just like coffee. Theirs is just wonderful - hot and black. On my first visit, my server made an error in telling me that they had chocolate croissants. They were sold out. I ordered the plain version and she offered it as complimentary because of her error. I refused the idea because the plain one was just as acceptable. And it was good. Stopping by for dinner, I ordered the charcuterie because I had fasting blood work the next morning and did not want to over indulge. It was interesting. It included bits of sun dried tomato. They were very sweet and I noticed they were included in many other dishes. Another surprise was the sun dried mango. Two cheeses included were quite tasty and unique. Third time coming in, I went straight to the display of pastries so that I did not have to have the server ping-ponging back and forth. The cream cheese pastry was great. The filling was tasty and the pastry flaky. Last night, I chose to have dinner here to avoid Nashville rush hour traffic. I had the salmon. It is served on cold quinoa, nicely seasoned on top, with red onion and (again) sun dried tomatoes. I'm not a big fan of quinoa, but I'm not averse to having it. I just don't have a lot of opportunity to enjoy it. I know that it is high in carbohydrates, so with my diabetes, I enjoyed "enough" and left some. Overall,, the menu is progressive creative. While I enjoy different ethnicity restaurants, this is unique. Trendy might also cover the idea. That means I had trouble finding a dish to try. Take my salmon dish as an example. I would have been happy with rice instead of quinoa, so I had to stretch out of my comfort zone. Likewise, the Basil Chicken lured me in, but I passed because I did not want the butternut squash. Each time I was there, I had a different server and wait times varied based on who served my table and how many other customers were there. Big windows give the place a nice bright, airy feeling. Seating is simple but effective. I like the genre of music, which is from the 70's or so. Upscale paper napkins wrap substantial utensils. Overall, the menu is creative and trendy, but the food is delicious. Friendly servers take good care of you in a bright dining area. read more

The quality of the food was good, and I appreciated that they sourced ingredients from farms. They are also dog-friendly, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, we informed the staff that we had a dog and asked to be put on the waitlist for the patio. It wasn't a problem, and we were told there would be a 15 minute wait. After 30 minutes, they called us for our table, but they had forgotten we had a dog and had assigned us an indoor table instead. As a result, we had to wait another 30 minutes for an outdoor table. What we originally thought would be 15 minutes, turned into an hour. Once seated, our waitress came over and told my boyfriend that his eyes were striking and that he was beautiful, then continued to flirt with him. This made me extremely uncomfortable, as it was clearly inappropriate and disrespectful -- especially since we were there with my dad.
