Chicken biscuit with goat cheese and pepper jelly. Side of potatoes.

I added this place to my running list of restaurants to try after I stumbled upon it via Google search. I really thought I would love it based off the Google reviews but I should've came to Yelp first lol The service and quaintness of the shop were nice however the food wasn't anything to write home about. It was like a step above a hotel breakfast. The potatoes didn't taste fresh at all and I love potatoes. It seemed like they had been sitting in a warmer or something in the back. I thought the biscuit was going to blow me away but it was meh. The pancakes tasted like a box mix too.

Small restaurant. Long wait to get in. Tight seating. Decent food. And the service could have been better. I had French Toast with banana toppings.

I came to Nashville for my daughters cheerleading competition and when I'm out of town I love to find new places to visit. Sky blue had high ratings on Yelp and they did not disappoint. I caught an Uber over and arrived at this small location that is in a neighborhood across from a school. At first I was a little skeptical but decided to dine anyway. The wait was about 15 minutes but once we got in everything took off. Our server was great and made a great selection with the French toast. I ordered the French toast, a side of home fries and some bacon. The BACON WAS GREAT!!! I really wish I had more that 2 pieces. The French Toast was AMAZING!!! I love the plate they use as it keeps the French toast warm. The French toast was so good I ordered another. Overall this is a great spot that is tucked away in the neighborhood. The food is GREAT and I'd definitely go back if I were in Nashville again.

A local staple in East Nashville, but far off the beaten path, so many people don't realize it is here. You can find street parking not far. And there is almost always a line to get in (only 5 minutes for us this time). Service was on point, although I do see some reviews that say otherwise. I will note that it is a small crew working here, so if you are a Karen, this is not your place to grab breakfast. Place is quaint and has a small town feel to it. Menu has a lot of interesting items and I will definitely get back to try other items. High on my list is the Brie French Toast the guy next to us got. Coffee is excellent and I should have asked the source. Food is very good, although my mind was more interested in the southwest than my mouth was that day. I won't fault the cafe for this, as the food was great, just not what I had thought it would be like. The ATB my girlfriend had was superb. Would I return? Yes, and I already said that. There are quite a few things on the menu I would like to try.

I love to find hole in the walls! It was packed, but the staff was still great! They're food was very good and flavorful, but the french toast pancakes are the winner hands down

I had a really good, quick breakfast at Sky Blue Cafe. It is a great neighborhood spot that has 10-12 tables inside and lots of small town charm. The first time I tried to go there, there was a large crowd out front waiting for tables - no waiting inside because there isn't enough room. I was very happy that I was able to get a table on my second attempt as it wasn't as crowded. I got a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and a side of home fries. I wish the home fries were a little bit crispier, but the food was good overall. I also enjoyed my iced latte too. If I went back, I'd probably try the pancakes, as those looked good.

I'm so glad that we've finally found a great brunch spot to enjoy and eat at! We're currently here on a visit to see Pearl Jam and have tried other breakfast spots but they weren't as good here. We walked in the door and didn't realize that you had to wait outside to check in but you know a place is going to be good when the inside is filled. So we waited around 15 minutes everyone was sweet and we sat down ordered our food immediately. My boyfriend got the syl breakfast ruben and it was so saucy and delicious super flavorful well made I kept taking a bit out of his. My friend got an omelette and hot honey chicken biscuit, the omelette was also flavored nicely paired well with the pico that was on top and super cheesy. I got the hot honey chicken biscuit and I also enjoyed it, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and it wasn't spicy but also loved the home made fries that it came with.

So glad we Found this neighborhood hang for bfast

How much do I love finding a cool neighborhood eatery? It's the best! We were staying at the Russell Hotel and this cozy spot is right down the road! This place checked all the boxes, the ambiance is funky and quirky with fun flannel tablecloths, local art, even gnomes, owls, and kitties. The service was lightning fast, and our service was satisfactory albeit a tad taciturn. We didn't realize you were supposed to wait outside... and a slight comment was issued, but it's all good. A little odd, but hey, who am I to say. It's a very inclusive and welcoming space! And the food is outrageously delicious and priced to spare your wallet from overload! I had a classic breakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes and rye toast. The rye toast tasted moldy and old so I didn't eat it. The tea was fabulous! A garden earl grey that I ended up purchasing some extra teabags! Hubby had a tower of breakfast favorites, with pancakes, French toast, eggs and bacon. He said the coffee was superb! All in all, we really liked this local restaurant and would come back should we be in the area again!

Ugh! I wish they are closer to us so I can go as often. Food is always amazing. Service is always great. Steven is awesome and friendly. The price is great for the portion you're getting. Worth coming every time.

Walked in on a rainy day . Amazing hot cocoa with marshmallows , gluten free pancakes ... omelettes were fresh and great sized . Nicole our server was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. We loved it here . Rustic ambiance . Cozy and welcoming .

I was hungry and it filled me up. I had the Em's bowl, nothing too exciting to report. It came with sausage gravy, potatoes, biscuits, eggs, and cheese. LOTS OF CHEESE. Taste was sort of bland, not much in the way of seasoning. Having waited 10-15 mins to be acknowledged at the stand and another 15 mins for a seat for one, I expected more. It's a small space, which explains the wait. Try for yourself, just not a repeat for me. Not terrible, but also not worth the trip for me.‍

Ask the Community - Sky Blue Cafe

    Do they offer gluten-free options?

While I don't believe they have a GF-specific menu, there are items that are GF and you can also ask them to modify an order to make it GF, I would assume. Give 'em a call; they can answer more specifically.

Do they offer bottomless mimosas (esp on Sunday)?

    No they do not...

Great value if you are coming with a group and can't decide what to get. I was not able to take pictures of everything as the dishes just kept coming and I lost track of everything that was brought out, but in general, the dishes were veggie-forward but not exclusively (we had some fried chicken that was very good). The menu is seasonal, so made differ when you visit, but my favorites were the squash and brussels sprouts. They were very accommodating of a gluten intolerance at our table and the staff thoroughly explained the components of every dish and reiterated throughout the dinner what was gluten-free and what wasn't. They provided substitutions when necessary. We additionally ordered the famous whipped feta. I am not even a cheese fan, but thought it was incredible. Super creamy and flavorful, it went perfectly with the pita. Definitely order this no matter what!

I pivoted to the Boozy Blackberry Mint Limeade for a second dreamy beverage treat. The server sensed that one wasn't hitting the same (the limeade was SOOOO strong), so she swapped it out for me--back to another Boozy Strawberry Lavender Lemonade! Without me asking. Figuring out what the diner needs and handling it before the diner asks (or was never going to change) - that's service! Brunch food I went for the Protein & Veggie Egg White Omelet and OMG, the chicken sausage in this thing was next-level. I even tried to make chicken sausage when I got home--and nailed it. Despite being called a "bird of an eater," I finished the entire omelet too because *determination* ya'll. The vibe was as hoped for, the outdoor seating was chill, and even my picky eater companion finished her Goldilocks porridge which looked warm, nutritious, and satisfying. If you're in East Nashville, this spot is a must. I'll definitely be back on my next trip!

While the cocktails were refreshing and they had a cocktail for every palate, my steak and eggs was bland. It came out a little closer to rare than medium, but I can live with that. But I am not sure I detected a speck of salt or pepper. The steak was at least tender and the sunny side up eggs were cooked appropriately. The potatoes were dry. And I did have the wagyu meatball appetizer. It's a large portion, so easily shared amongst two or three people. Cheesy and saucy with a little spice. The focaccia could've been toasted a little more. I considered the short rib hash, but my server told me it could be salty and hit or miss (I appreciate her honesty and she 100 percent should be praised for it). I came during brunch (even on a weekday). They also serve French toast, desserts, oysters, burrata, potstickers and tuna tartare, salads, burgers and other sandwiches. If you come for lunch or dinner, you can also get grilled salmon, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits, pastas (cajun chicken, pappardelle bolognese, tortellini) as well as various cuts of steak.
