Enjoyed a great Sunday Brunch at The Tap Room in Farmingdale. I've been here before for some drinks and apps, but since we are holding my bridal shower here in June, we wanted to go for brunch to get a better feel for that menu. Our server Jacqueline was very sweet and attentive. We had ordered a cider flight. 3 out of 6 tasted like an IPA and we asked to swap it out. They were very accommodating and swapped it without question. Our guests' Bloody Marys were strong and spicy. We tried the short rib skillet, short rib sliders, American breakfast and breakfast burrito. The short ribs were soft and tender and the garlic Parmesan potatoes were AMAZING. (My mom actually went and spoke to the event manager to make sure we could have them at my shower.) The bacon was crispy and eggs cooked perfectly. Brunch prices were very reasonable considering the portions and quality. Overall, it was a great brunch experience and we can't wait to come back! read more

I REALLY hate to give the Tap Room three stars but to be completely transparent, my food wasn't that great. First off, I hold Tap Room to a very good standard as I have been to the Huntington and Bayshore locations and have had great experiences however I was not a fan of the Farmingdale location food wise. I went about three weeks ago and had a pretzel and a whiskey burger. The pretzel was delicious but the burger was tasteless. I thought that maybe its an off-day or something. I came back this past week and had the 20 for $20 wing special. My wings were dryer than the Sahara Desert. I chewed them and had to spit them out. I feel bad saying this but im still going to come back. The food is typically good, great deals on drinks, the staff are always friendly, but the food lately was not good. The kitchen is open late, which was helpful since every restaurant on the main drag of Farmingdale seemed to close at 9:00. The place looks cool and I wanted to enjoy it more, but the food was extremely overpriced (3 chicken quesadillas for $50, seriously?!) and the DJ only played 30 second clips of songs on what seemed to be full ear-splitting volume the entire time, so I couldn't hear anybody. Granted, I was the designated driver so I didn't enjoy the atmosphere as much as my friends who were downing cocktails, but still worth sharing that it's not really a good place to hang out and talk. read more

A much bigger space than what I was expecting. We were upstairs. The bartender was friendly and super quick with the orders we were a group of 10+ celebrating my friend's birthday. The place got packed pretty quickly at around 745pm on a Friday night. I didn't get any food but the people I was with ordered a lot of different items and everyone said they were great. I sat at the bar for two hours, and the first bartender was good. She served me 2 drinks which was fine. The second bartender who came on around 5pm, never made eye contact. Mind you, this was between 4-6 on a Wednesday afternoon and the bar was not busy. I was the dd and i would have liked a glass of water, however like i said, he never made eye contact. This place was the old Meatballs, they really haven't done much with the place, but it looks nice and has a good look of a trendy want to be sport bar, the staff was friendly and attentive, the food was pretty good, we ordered a couple of old fashioned and a Mediterranean platter to start, the drinks were ok and the platter was missing something, not sure what, but it didn't quite satisfy my taste buds, it wasn't bad, am not sure, that was followed by a Burger Wrap and a Blackened Gyro, they were very good. Had a wonderful dining experience at the New Tap Room! So happy it replaced the previous establishment. The food and ambiance were lovely on a Sunday evening. Our server, Coraima, was great! So many options of the menu she suggested the Chicken al vodka sandwich and was so happy she did! The strawberry side fields salad and truffle fries complimented the sandwich. Been a fan of their Patchogue and Massapequa locations for quite some time now. I usually always get the burger wrap. It taste exactly the same in both locations. Also a must are their sweet potato fries with the yummy dipping sauce. So by now you can tell how excited I was to tell my friends I heard of this new location and I thought we should meet them here as it's closer to where they live now. I love introducing people to new spots. I digress... This once coveted storefront on Main Street was occupied but That Meatball Place, and unfortunately it didn't last. Cue The Tap Room and their awesome menu, with quality food and a laid back chill vibe. Another location hitting it out of the park. Service was great, and I always give major points to our server who is more than patient with a bunch of kids at their table. Hugeeeee props to ours for sure. Review specific to completely mid Sunday brunch: Dining companion got their version of an espresso martini (made with cold brew coffee) and asked the waitress to take it away because it was too bitter to drink...Still ended up on the bill and neither the waitress or the manager addressed her comment Plus she ordered steak and eggs, steak med rare and the steak came out well done Additionally, the service was so slow, we literally didn't get drinks served to us for 30 minutes. Again, specific to brunch: no screwdriver option on the drink menu, which seems odd. But perhaps even more odd is that they offer 3 flavors of mimosa, but bottomless is only available for traditional mimosas (?) We also asked for a pitcher of mimosas and were told they don't have them, only to see the servers walking around with pitchers of mimosa I'd be hard pressed to recommend for brunch. read more

NEVER AGAIN, The place turned into ROMPER ROOM on March 1st for a "bar Crawl" on Main Street. Walked into the place to find the lights turned off, tables and chairs gone, blasting horrible music and it was LOADED w teenie boppers...It was like being in a sardine can. No way all these brats were 21+.... door guys didn't ID a soul that walked by them & we couldn't even get within 20' of the bar. The back door was locked so no one can enter. Hoping for fire safety sake you could at least get out if needed but you would probably be trampled to death before even getting toward an exit. We have been to this location before and liked it which is why we returned to gather for my bf's bday, but after this visit-never again. Stopped in for lunch - it was early, so it was pretty empty. The bouncers/security at the front door were really friendly and welcoming. Once seated, our waiter came right over - we ordered spinach dip which was freaking amazing - then we ordered chicken sandwich w-truffle fries - it was messy, but tasty. Loud and proud was the vibe last night. Parking as always on a Friday night along Main Street is a challenge but i suggest finding a municipal lot and just take the walk. So at 7 party of 2 we had a 30 minute wait due to the METS game the place was packed. There were 2 birthday parties taking place upstairs and a very lovely woman singer was downstairs by the front windows and she was incredible. We were greeted promptly by our server Peter who was on point, attentive and friendly. The menu is not huge but they offer a wide variety of options to choose. We started with hot honey Brussel sprouts with bacon lardon and oh my that was amazing . Next up was the birria sliders (x2) with jalapeños and a consume dipping bowl and i was pleasently surprised as to how tender the meat was and the consume you want to swim in. My wife opted for the Chipotle shrimp tacos (x3) and they just hit. The creamiest of the Chipotle cream sauce along with the snap of the fresh shrimp was noteworthy indeed. By 9:00 the Mets crew had cleared out and the Yankees crew had made their way in since this place has like 100 tvs to watch whatever sport you'd like. I remember when this location was the local hardware store. Then came That Meetball Place who did a major renovation to the property and made it an awesome bar scene with lots of rustic wood everywhere. I always loved That Meetball Place for their ambience and amazing Happy Hour specials (all taps $4). Food, not so much. So when I heard this was going to be another Tap Room location I was excited since I regularly visit their Massapequa Park location. Having been to 3 of the 5 Tap Room locations (Farmingdale, Massapequa Park, and Bayshore) the Farmingdale location is similar to Bayshore in that is has two levels. Massapequa Park is only 1 level but seems always packed. The energy is different at the Farmingdale location. It doesn't have the same "Tasp Room vibe" of the other locations - yet. Could be they opened it less than a week after That Meetball Place closed. Maybe they are making progress in that department. The Farmingdale location was always a huge club scene when it was That Meetball Place, with lines out the door Friday and Saturday nights in the summer. I don't think the other Tap Room locations are like that, but I have not been to them late at night. So if The Tap room of Farmingdale can continue that tradition they should have a great club scene in the summer. My current concern with this location is the food. I have eaten there 3 times since they opened (including day 1) and the food has been hit or miss. The first day the food was pretty spot on like the other locations. I think that is because they brought in so many Tap Room employees from other locations to help them the first few days. But a week later the food quality has gone down. My second visit the chicken wings were soggy and a bit rubbery. I had ordered them to go and had to heat them in the air fryer to make them edible. The Mac and Cheese balls I ate on premise were great, as was the pretzel. And the beer was good, even though they do not have all the usual beers the other Tap Rooms carry (like Banana Bread beer) yet. This Tap Room has a mediocre Happy Hour since is limited to only a few basic taps at $5 each. My third visit the boneless chicken wings were literally raw inside. Thankfully we cut them in half before eating so we noticed right away. They were pink and translucent in the center and the bartender had to toss them in the trash and give us something else. Turned us off for eating anything else that day at the restaurant. I think we got a pretzel in their place. But definitely disappointing to have another chicken dish undercooked. At this point we decided to take a month off from this location in hopes they iron these kinks out. It is a shame they are having these inconsistencies since it is such a great location and Farmingdale has a great bar scene. They should be making a fortune here but if the food is not on par with their other locations they won't last. Hoping to update my review to 4 or 5 stars in the coming months. read more

Recently I stopped into the Tap Room in Main Street, Farmingdale. I was with my cousin.The place is very nice and has a lot of space including a full bar. Ordered delivery on the tap room's website. Order was marked for delivery 5 mins after the order was placed. Food came about an hour later, ICE COLD! I had to reheat everything. Also, for a $20 salad, the lack of ingredients, and size of the salad I received, whoever prepared it should be ashamed of themselves. Found a spot on Main Street that was not crazy crowded with good food and entertainment! I was really happy with the steak tacos and the options given as sides. There were some guys at the table across from us clearly many drinks in and they kept getting closer & closer so no one could pass without hitting the chair. I frequent the Patchogue location a lot so I was super excited when I heard they opened a location right up the road from my house. Came here tonight and was seated upstairs in Bianca's section. She had zero personality which is really not hard to fake, put on a fake voice and smile and you're golden. We ordered our food, wings and spinach dip and got tortilla chips instead of the pita due to an allergy. The chips were stale but you know what I can deal with that but my wings were ice cold like they were sitting in the back for a while. I sent them back and had my new order packed to go because I was over being there. My to go wings also came out ice cold. I'm never the one to not tip because as someone who is also in the restaurant business I know we rely on them but with the service we received I couldn't fathom leaving anything.
