My coworkers and I came to The Main Event for happy hour one weekday after work. The Main Event is located on Broadhollow Rd in Farmingdale, NY and there are plenty of parking spots. The Main Event is a 10,000 square feet restaurant and sports bar. There are two bars, more than 80 HD TV's, outdoor patio, and private room. We had reserved a section by the bar area and it is very spacious. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We ordered and shared classic buffalo wings, extreme nachos, mozzarella sticks, and breaded chicken fingers. It was good bar food and the portions were good. Staff were very friendly. I recently visited The Main Event in Farmingdale and had a great time! One of the highlights was the numerous TVs available to catch any sporting event. I ordered the steak tidbits, which were delicious and cooked to perfection. I also tried the fried clam strips, which were good but slightly overcooked. The atmosphere was fun and energetic, making for a lively dining experience. The service was good, but our server could have been a bit more attentive and checked in with us more frequently. It's a great spot to catch a game or meet friends for a casual dinner. Its great for kids too - they have a great kids menu and our kids had a lot of fun watching sports while eating dinner. The restaurant also has a large bar area, perfect for adults to hang out and enjoy a drink. Overall, I would recommend The Main Event for a fun night out and some great food. read more

It's a Friday night in December and 11 middle-aged friends from all over the island are meeting up for dinner.... We get a table no problem. Waitress, Emily, was efficient and took drink orders for the me and & friend that were the 1st to show up. As people showed up, she took drink orders... finally we decided on food, etc... all good! great waitress! BUT - turn down that music!!!! Why do I have to shout across the table to friends!?!?! Beautifully decorated for the season, nice touch, all in all great... But just DON'T go to the bar afterwards to sit and chill and we all order another round of cocktails, after spending $800 bucks... after the drinks came, another bartender that did not serve us tells us that the section we were standing in, (had purses on chairs) was reserved... for the same time we got to the bar area, told well their "regulars"! Went here to visit some old friends and watch the Yankee game. TVs all over the place. Not a bad seat in the house. Probably a great spot for Sunday football. We ordered a bunch of food, I had the roast beef dip. Very good. Big pretzle was good also. We had a great server, beers were cold, food was good, great company, Yankees game. Greetings Fellow Yelpers, My 1st review of 2024 ( I've been busy) Met a large group of friends for Super Bowl LVII . It was my first time visiting this venue which is an open atmosphere with 2 bars and dining room seatings along with patio seating in the warm months an quite an ample parking lot. I had already eaten at an earlier get together so I didn't order any food. I picked on some group apps which were good. I will update this review on food on my next visit . TV's are plenty full and it was a very comfortable atmosphere. Bartenders were pretty good considering it was a group of 25+ Very clean venue with spotless restrooms. Shout out to Mike the owner who made his presence know making all facets of the night were good . The kitchen did get backed up for about 45 minutes but you were alerted prior to ordering. Kudos. If you come here expect the slowest service. We came in the bar at 3pm with 3 tables in our servers sections. Our drinks were forgotten, our food was forgotten. To add the cherry on top the hostess came up to the table with a blank stare, removed a chair and then told us we would be relocated (the host are in charge of seating). The food court at Target would have been a better dinning experience. Do yourself a favor and choose a different location. To the manager, you need to do a serious retraining across the board. I do not blame the staff, but the manager who has allowed this to become a norm. read more

Went there this past Saturday night with a group of ten, and as you can imagine it was crowded. We had reservations and was pleasantly surprised when were seated right away. The place is huge with a great number of tables, bars, and tv's for watching the sporting events of your liking. The menu consists more of a restaurant selection than a typical sports bar menu; with fish dishes, steaks, and some chicken entrees being offered. The food is ok, not great not terrible. I had the Ahi tuna with the roasted buffalo cauliflower appetizer. The tuna was good, but the cauliflower was awful, having been severely over cooked. The rest of the table, for the most part, were happy with their orders, except for the undercooked risotto on one of the fish dishes. The service was decent, although I did order coffee which was never brought to the table, and my wife was brought the wrong dish, and had to wait a few minutes for what she had ordered to be prepared. Now, bring your ear plugs, because this place is uncomfortably L O U D!! It's hard to have a conversation with the person next to you because of the decibel level. If your looking to have a few beers and some bar food and watch the game with some friends, than this place is a good choice. If you're going there to have a nice meal, and converse with some old friends, then I wouldn't recommend it. Take it or leave it. read more

We got there around 11pm on a Friday, but unfortunately they close at midnight--would've been better if they stayed open later. Just had a couple beers and some chips with guac, which were fine. We had our daughter's first birthday party here, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The staff at the main event was so incredibly helpful and even helped us hang banners and do everything we needed to do to prepare for the party. They were always available whenever we had questions before the party and were extremely accommodating. Everyone was raving about the food and how it was the perfect space for a birthday party. We actually had access to two huge rooms, which was great for various entertainment we had, and they were able to close off one room with shades to make it more private. It's a good location when meeting friends a very large menu to choose from with lots of good item choices. I love the octopus on salad. But this trip I had the Taziki chicken souvlaki. It was very good and tasty. Other people at the table had burgers And we're very happy with their taste and flavor. Another person had a chicken sandwich and loved it. The fries are extra crispy. I'm assuming that's because they're double fried but they came out hot and crispy. The ice tea is not fresh made so it has that tubing taste to it. But the diet soda was fine. It's a large area to have a party but the night we went the Rangers were playing on all the TVs. It was playoffs. It was hard to hear friends talk , because the Rangers were winning and scoring a lot. I know this is a sports bar. Can you believe that I lived in Farmingdale for YEARS and never been to the Main Event before? YEARS PEOPLE! I guess we always just didn't think to hit up 110 when going out and would head over the Main Street. But let me tell you, this spot was not only hopping but it exceeded my expectations. I was invited to a surprise 30th birthday party here. Which I will say, with that party, a reunion party and their general customers...parking was a bit tricky. Not sure if the dispensary that neighbors the restaurant shares parking but it was a bit chaotic. The restaurant itself is bigger than you'd expect. We were in a private party room to the back which was really nice. The bar was just outside the room so easy access to drinks. The food itself was quite good too! Wings, sliders on pretzel buns, chicken parm, chicken teriyaki and more. All of it was delicious and again, exceeding expectations with the sliders being my fav. Service was great although I wish they had more than one server assigned to our room. We were a lot to handle (not rowdy just a nice size group) and I just wish she had a bit more help. Wouldn't mind meeting friends here halfway for some drinks sometime soon. Too bad this is post me living in the area but always happy to find a cool bar to hang at. read more

When our company has holiday parties this seems to be one of the go to restaurants. From the bartender to waiters and busboys the service was good. The ambiance is busy with all of the winter holidays coming up and there is a screen in every viewpoint. Great selection and their Greek style food is A+ Lobster bisque has large chunks of lobster and was creamy and delicious. Came on a Saturday afternoon with a few friends and it was PACKED, to the point where it was difficult to get a spot in the lot, but still we were seated pretty quickly. Exactly what you'd picture from a sports bar- tvs all around the walls showing the games, tables cheering on their teams, but also a number of birthday parties happening concurrently. Food wise exactly what you'd expect too- we got the sampler of onion rings, mozzarella sticks, Buffalo chicken fingers, and nachos, and while it was fine I was expecting a bit more for the price (especially because it's not easy to split two chicken fingers...) for about $25. Altogether between a drink a piece, the sampler and a side each it came out to about $40 each including tip and tax. If you're going for a game totally recommend, but otherwise not necessarily my first choice read more

From what I have read, the Main Event is a Family-owned Restaurant and Sports Bar with two locations. The location we had chosen was in Farmingdale. The restaurant has plenty of flat screen TVs with a sizable bar area. I have also read that their seafood is always fresh and is delivered from the owner's own seafood business. Next time I will most definitely try their lobster roll. We ordered the American burger with fries and a chicken taco salad which were both particularly good.
