This used to be one of our absolute favorite spots to go for good food at a reasonable price on almost a weekly basis. For a place in the middle of nowhere the prices have gone sky high. Burgers used to be $10 including chips and could upgrade to fries for 3 extra. Now the burgers start at $15.99 for only the burger and then you have to add on fries for another $4. A burger with fries is $20?? This place is literally a hole in the wall bar. While I understand that costs have gone up, I would expect that the alcohol would somewhat subsidize the food. Additionally, their pricing has increased far more than other similar restaurants in Belleville. We continued to be patrons of this place through COVID but no more. If you want to overpay significantly for bar food, feel free, but we will be spending our money elsewhere. read more

There food in pretty good, my only complaint is they had the nerve to charge me extra for using my Visa Debit card. The practice of charging is illegal, if it was a regular Credit Card it would be fine, but not a Visa debit that is like paying with cash. We made this happy discovery of this restaurant when the one we planned to go to wasn't available. The food was delicious, well made. No pictures because it didn't last long. It was actually about a 2 1/2 but I'll try and hope this was an off night. The best- gigantic onion rings. Omg these WERE great. Big onions and great coating. The quite good- shepherds pie. A big portion and a tasty version. Good veggies and gravy and nicely seasoned. The mixed bag of tricks- the seafood mac and cheese was pretty good, could have used a pop of spice but decent. The crab cake? Heavily breaded and overcooked to boot. Blech. The bottom of the barrel- overhyped dried out burgers. How is an award winning burger bone dry even when not technically overcooked??? How does it utterly lack even a hint of flavor? I freaking love burgers, when I hate a burger it's deserved. Mine was the worst of the two. I got smoked gouda and bacon. Undercooked bacon. Decided to try this place on a recommendation from a friend. When we got there the sign said to wait to be seated. So we waited. And were ignored for a good amount of time before we left. Not sure what is going on here. There was no hostess stand so not sure who seats you but on this day I guess nobody. No one even acknowledged us at all. We would have been happy to wait if someone would have just said they would be with us in a minute. But we had No confidence in the place after being ignored. Maybe the food is good. I came here several times before the pandemic hit. My buddy's parents live out in Belleville. The first time I came here was Easter Sunday, 2019. We came here for their buffet. I have to say it was fantastic. On several other occasions, we also came back before the pandemic shit it all down. I miss coming here for the buffets! I need to get back out here soon. read more

I arrived and the bar tender informed me he did not take the order, he asked what phone number I called I looked it up and realized I called the one in Ypsilanti, He then rudely told me it would take 45 minutes to cook a burger and fries, do you still want it? After I left complaining what a jerk he was, I called the one in Ypsilanti and apologized explaining I did not realize I called that location by mistake the gal was wonderful, she actually told me she was aware of what a rude person the guy was. Our McShanes (Ypsilanti) went to bar-only during covid times so now we drive 20 minutes out to get the most perfect Turkey Reuben on the planet. It is made with a swirled rye bread and we get it with cheddar instead of swiss, which is very good. The sweet potato fries are addictive as are the homemade onion rings. Sheperd's pie is amazing and come on, the delicious cornbread! Ask for extra of that!! Ask for extra ranch! I am in love with the McShane's and Cheese (Mac & Cheese) and have recently discovered subbing chicken for the sausage with the broccoli is a perfect dinner. We have often taken the containers to a local lakeside park and eaten it there so it is still hot but these containers microwave just fine. My meal was amazing. I don't like cornbread, but theirs is phenomenal. Light and fluffy like a cupcake with a welcome sweetness. Another surprise was the coleslaw, which was unique in a good way. I took it home after eating too many fries and too much fish, and ate it for lunch the next day because I just couldn't let it go to waste. The beer-battered fish is on my top five list of beer-battered fish. It's really, really good. The breading has a wonderful flavor, and there's just the right amount coating the fish. It was a little greasy, but not over the top. I didn't need to mop up the grease with a paper towel. :) The french fries were large, potatoey (I've decided that's a word), and wonderful. My husband wasn't too impressed with the pizza, and it honestly didn't look like anything special. Service was phenomenal. We decided that we would give the restaurant a chance since it had taken the place of a long-time bar/pizzeria. I believe the first time I went there, I had wanted to try their shepherd's pie but, due to them being relatively new we settled on an appetizer and decided to try them again later in the year.
