Its hiding in plain sight. We walked in slowly because we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the owners. And was welcomed with opened arms. We were seated. The owner, Sean, has been there for over 16 years, and has create the sports bar, local place, dive-bar, food place for the area. Darts, pull tabs, pool competitions, even a karaoke and trivia night... it's all there. Personally, I'm there on Tuesday's for their Steak Night, for $13.99 you get a ribeye and baked potato (sides are extra of course). Just don't forget to order a beverage from your talented bar staff. Just one caveat, on certain nights, your food will come out pretty slow especially on Tuesday for Steak Night, and Wednesday for Trivia Night. There is usually one cook. As others have mentioned, there can be very long wait times to have your food delivered. The last time I was in, I had to cancel my order after waiting for almost an hour. Other than that, this place is great. The food is really good and the drinks are as well. This bar is filled with regulars who all seem to know each other. Usually that means that others who enter aren't as welcome, but not here. A lot of the customers are very friendly, and I've been here about five times and have had the same experience every time. They have a lot of TVs and a few pool tables if you're into sports or activities. The staff is also friendly. Overall, a very good place to be as long as you're not starving! I am sorry to say the customer service was horrible. We were not acknowledged after ordering our first drink. The waitress never asked if we wanted anything else. We ordered food and had to ask for it after forty minutes. The waitress was rude and once being asked about another drink or my food she was only concerned if she was going to be tipped. She serviced all the white patrons with no problem. I guess Being Black means no service at this establishment!! read more

This place is awesome. It is a cheap dive bar with good food and friendly (drunk) patrons. I have had several of the burgers and sandwiches and all of them were inexpensive and good. My neighbors go there for fish and chips once a week and say that it is some of the best they have ever had (but I myself have not tried it yet). If you are looking for a fancy place, this is not for you. If you are looking for a good time and don't mind people partying around you, this IS for you. read more

Pickled onion? More like the Yucky onion. Don't support this small business unless they can get some new staff. With trash food that they don't even prepare properly based on the menu they give you. I got a western burger with literally none of the toppings why? I couldn't tell you. If you ever let someone else pay your tab, their 'lovely' bartenders will harass you on social media and claim you don't pay your tab, as if that's an OK thing to do for a business. On top of that I know someone who got 86 their just due to the pure fact they did not tip. Even if every other restaurants in the Renton highlands was closed I would recommend eating at home before giving your business to the pickled onion. Great place for darts! They have live music on certain nights which is a nice touch and the staff and bartenders always friendly. Great local place to meet up with a few friends and throw a few back. As a non smoker, I do wish the designated smoking area was a bit further from the entrance though. Haven't tried the food, but portions look large and will have to try soon. read more

Soccer themed bar that is actually pretty divey around happy hour. I go here from time to time to grab a quick bite to eat out of convenience and because they have good beer on tap and the happy hour food specials are pretty tasty. I've had the wings (above average), a club sandwich that was very good, and a BLT that is a sandwich that is tough to screw up. They did a good job with it. From a sports bar standpoint, everything is very updated including a pool table, dart boards, and a great jukebox with a huge selection. There are also TV's all over the place. Expect a divey, yet friendly crowd and enjoy a good draft beer and perhaps even a cup of their signature chili. Good stuff. read more

I was in the area getting my oil changed and decided to stop it. That was a great decision. Very friendly barback with great food. I had the Wednesday special a steak sandwich. Yikes... I"m not sure where to start with this one. I would call this a total dive bar without any saving charm. I went for take-out dinner. While ordering I noticed they have a couple British/Irish beers on tap, so that's a plus. Although the signs outside promise a British Pub theme, the beers are the only thing I could see that were "British". Good food prices, but mediocre hamburger. French fries were soggy, some still cold on the inside. Bartender was weirdly indifferent, never made eye contact, never smiled, didn't talk much. I came from work and definitely looked out of place in my business casual getup, but that's no excuse. Atmosphere/ambience was non-existent. Tables, bar and floors were dated and dirty looking. Lighting was bad. The walls are filled with scratch tickets and game machines. Won't be going back. read more

I am sure that the PO is filled with chummy high-fivin' regulars in the evening, but man it was depressing as hell at noon on a Saturday. I came, I saw, I left. Yes, this is a review on my decision not to waste any time or money here. My man friend (?) wanted to check out this joint, maybe grab a snack and a brew- it was bingo night. The speaker was terrible, the general atmosphere and mood was dank and dirrty and grumpy. I know it was Bingo night but some music might have helped. I am sure they have some regulars who stumble home and really keep them in business- and enjoy bingo night. Wish I could have given more stars. My 17year old had suggested we go to Paddy Coyne's Pub in Bellevue, and I suggested we go somewhere closer. When we arrived I checked to see if there were any notices about it being a 21 and up spot. Nope? Only two no-firearms notices posted. Went inside, sat down, and were told they are only 21 and older. We politely got up, and I mentioned that I hadn't seen the posting outside (there doesn't appear to be any inside either). I was assured - oh it's there, we're a "Pub!" Well, I felt silly having missed the posting, so I went back outside to check. Nope, I hadn't missed anything. Went back in to again, just to share (politely) that there was no signage up indicating it was 21 and older. I guess my sharing was NOT appreciated and I was told, but we have PUB in our name, of course we're 21 and over. Well....... I'm sure there are regulations about how the seating is structured that don't allow Pickled Onion to easily accommodate under 21 guests, and that's OK. Pumphouse in Bellevue has good food, and also clearly posts hat they only serve guests 21 and older. Instead of going back to the original plan Paddy Coyne's PUB) we headed to Mustard Seed PUB & grill. Both spots (like other PUB's) serve 21 and under guests. Maybe we'll come back. Went here Saturday night to see a friend of mine's band play. I'm not much of a bar person, so was really reluctant to go, but did so for my friend. This place was much better than I expected for typical bar atmosphere. It wasn't near as loud and crowded as I expected. It's not like it was empty, just not elbow to elbow. Once the band stopped it was low key enough you could talk without shouting (just talk slightly loud). It was also nice that it was not an all early 20s crowd. I felt more comfortable with the slightly older (e.g. my age) crowd of 30 somethings. Come in and see Mark or Klaus if you are looking to have a very good time. The place is a dump, the music is bad, the pool tables are worse, but the bartenders and staff are the reason I will keep coming back to the Onion! Drink prices are very reasonable, and while I don't drink the suds, they do have many beers to choose from...One thing of note, the kitchen closes at 10 EVERY night so don't try and stop by to grab food late night. Parking is always free and never a problem (the bar is in a strip mall type place, so they have the entire lot to themselves during the night.) read more

A friendly bar, awesome staff and the regulars are nice as well. You don't get that feeling you're crashing a party, nobody is eyeballing you when you walk in as a new face. It's in a bit of a strip mall and extremely well lit inside. Attentive service even when it's a busy dinnertime crowd. Be patient, it's a small crew but they know what they're doing. Fair prices and adequate available parking. First time in tonight and had an OK time. Beer was starting out at just under $3 a bottle. Seemed busy with a lot of possible regulars. We (four of us) got shots of tequila bought for us by a group of other self-proclaimed newbies to this bar. The bar has darts for fun. The mens' room smells as worse as you think the worst mens' room on the planet would smell. Think "Abu Grabe". We might be back. read more

This was the first bar I went to when I turned 21. I loved it immediately mostly because of the staff. The bartenders are great, always remember you, and know drinks well. It's billed as a "British pub" but is basically just a Sports Bar with soccer on the TV. First round of drinks came out and my beer was flat, tequila had a bug in it. I get that things happen (even sometimes 2 at once) but it wasn't a great first impression. Food was ok.. pretty standard freezer to fryer bar food. If I go back I might get a sandwich or something else. Honestly though there are enough other options I don't see a 2nd trip happening. read more

This is a perfect local dive bar! It was cleaner than I expected going in and there is a ton of room. We have twice held a birthday party for my husband there and it comfortably could fit a group of 15. With dart boards, 2 pool tables, and pull tabs there is great entertainment and they even do live music and trivia some nights. The food is exactly what you should expect and is classic good bar food. The bartenders are always really great and will even come around and check on you if it's slow. It has become a great hang out for my husband and I! read more
