Well, I hate to write a poor review for Sidewall because it's one of my favorite places to eat. But after having been to three other locations, the Simpsonville location is poorly lacking. Service was unbelievably slow and we actually had to ask for our napkins and silverware AFTER we received our food. I do appreciate the option of a gluten free and vegan pizza. The patio looked inviting, but the inside vibe was just not what I expected from a Sidewall. I will not be going back to this location. I heard the same comments from some of my coworkers who have been to this location multiple times. You have to understand, I love me some sidewall pizza... And all the other locations always blow me away. Hopefully this one is still working out the kinks maybe. read more

Ivy was great, so helpful with the beers on tap, finding out what kind if vegan cheese we were getting. Love our veganized antipasto pizza and my BIL got the Margarita which looked amazing. Enjoyed our pizza night out. We had a med style pizza (pesto, feta, chicken, olives and peppers). Was a great combo of flavors. The pizza was not over or under done, and came out in a timely manner. We also had the breadsticks- which are amazing, super soft and have a nice garlic taste (not overpowering). This is really a great addition to downtown Simpsonville! The only downside is the size of the building - they don't take reservations or call-ahead so for dinner you're probably going to have a wait, and there is essentially no waiting space. But, the staff was very friendly and they have some great drink options for you while you wait for a table to clear. The appetizers and salads are amazing - I've tried the breadsticks and fried goat cheese, both of which I loved. Also did a wedge salad which I would highly recommend. We tried the pimento cheese pizza (special offer for a short time) and another plain cheese pizza/half little pepperoni. The pimento cheese was a little odd at first but if you really like a crispy crust you'll love it. The cheese and pepperoni pizza was also fantastic - the little pepperoni seems more like it's sliced sausage or something, they aren't traditional tasting or looking pepperoni but if you are prepared for that, it's great! I haven't been able to try the dessert menu but I see the daily ice cream flavors on their social media pages and they always look incredible. Overall this place is really high quality - I'd highly recommend it to anyone! read more

Is zero stars an option? We arrived at 6 pm and were told we would have to wait 15 minutes. We waited 20 and asked and were told that someone had a reservation that would take up 3 tables and they told us we would be the next to be seated. We checked again 10 minutes later after seeing 2 random groups seated before us. We were told that we were only allowed to be seated at a 2 top table. There are 2 of those in the restaurant. Parties of 4 that arrived well after we did were seated before us. Went to the bar for a beer and the guy "guessed" that the beer was 6 dollars. It was not. I informed him that per their menu it was only 5 dollars. It was a can and it was warm. We will never be back here. The hostess was an idiot and the bartender was dumb. This place is the worst and we will NEVER be back. Go elsewhere. read more

My son took me out for lunch, and we decided to try Sidewall Pizza. The service was great, and our waitress was very sweet and helpful. Most important was the food which we thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a pizza named Tommy, which had mushrooms, spinach, peppers caramelized onions, garlic and cheese, best pizza we ever had, and the salad we shared was equally as good. Don't be scared that it's a regional pizza place with multiple shops. The Simpsonville location has been opened for a few weeks when my wife and I wander in about 90 mins before close. First things first, save room for ice cream. We'd already eaten but got some drinks and order of breadsticks. The sauce is outstanding - not overly sweet. Bread is fresh and delightful. We went back the next day and got pizza - bacon chicken ranch & meatball. My meatball pizza was outstanding - with that amazing crushed tomato sauce and FRESH meatballs. Wife's pizza was also delicious with generous toppings. But the capper was the quality of the staff - friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. The GM came over and chatted with us and I could tell she loves her job. read more

It would be one thing if it was just one time, but is is consistently every time that we have to wait abnormally long. They also run out of beer every time we are here. Second time I have tried Sidewalk. First time was a very poor experience due to customer service issues but the pizza was very good, so I tried to give them another try. This time I figured I would get takeout and avoid any customer service issues. When I placed the order they were very specific and how long it would take before it would be ready for pickup. They wanted to make sure I understood that it was going to take awhile. I said fine and showed up at the requested time. After I paid they went to get my pizza only to come back to let me know they were putting it in the oven right then. Fool my twice, their won't be a third time. read more

New location in Simpsonville, SC! Had lunch there on Friday with a friend. So delicious! Super service! Started with breadsticks, very generous size with a bowl of chunky tomato sauce. Next we split a Pear salad with plump cranberries, candied walnuts, sliced fresh pear and spinach with a fig balsamic dressing.....so fabulous. Ordered a custom 14" with small pepperoni, Italian sausage, carmelized onions, red cherry peppers..... best crust! So happy to have visited and will be back soon. read more

They walked in and the host immediately seated them. They need better organization on seating guest so everyone is seated in the correct order as they put their name down. read more

We tried Sidewall years ago when it first opened its first location. We were super excited to try but ended up having a terrible experience. Our waitress forgot about us completely! Never had that happen before. I called the owner and instead of apologizing, he got defensive and was very rude. I tried to be polite but was really taken back by his reaction and found it extremely unprofessional. Yesterday, we were invited for a luncheon at Sidewall in Simpsonville. After years of not visiting, we had yet another disappointing experience. First of all, the pizza took forever to arrive even though the restaurant was only 20% occupied when we ordered. Our gluten free crust was not made correctly. It was so puffy it looked ridiculous and tasted terrible. Then, we paid at the end and didn't see our charges until after paying and saw we were charged for items we did not order! The whole experience was frustrating, but based on my prior experience do not feel reaching out will lead to anything productive. I will not be visiting any Sidewall again. Lots of great local restaurants, but Sidewall is not one. read more

Once again, Sidewall Pizza is a huge disappointment! The first time we went, they wouldn't even take our order because we didn't have a mask on. Mind you, we were outside and distanced. But we gave it a pass and decided at a later date to give it a try. We sat at the bar, lunch was good, service again was underwhelming but we would go back. Tonight, we ordered pizza and breadsticks to go, over 45 minutes ago. They said it would not be ready before 8:35. My husbandly got there and they just put them in the oven at 8:34. Guess we should have read between the lines. Sidewall has the WORST customer service. Looks like a fun atmosphere from the outside, I've always wondered about this place when it's take my daughter across the street for ice cream. So today, as wet drive around looking for lunch after church, we decided to check it out! I saw the pear salad on their menu online and then it was recommended by Toby, one of their fantastic waitresses.. and my oh my! I've never had a salad that had that flavor! It was absolutely delicious! We also got the baked goat cheese that came with crostini, emmm! Then the fresh mozzarella they used on my daughters pizza was really good too! Too too it all off, Erin and Toby (didn't catch the lady chefs name that came out) but their service was absolutely wonderful! They are super friendly, nice, caring and really take care of their guests! Traffic in the restaurant was slowing down for the moment on -in's, and we're all struck up a conversation, what a fun place and group of people! We're will definitely be coming back! Oh and the natural sodas, I'm not a big soda drinker anymore.. and I had 3 of their cream sodas! So yummy! Couldn't say enough great things about our experience today! read more

Although I like the food I was refused service as I didn't have a mask. I asked if they could provide one and they told me no. I own a business and most provide them for my clients if they don't have one. If it's a requirement they should offer it. Love the pizza, but this new location has some issues. First, it's small. Maybe this won't be an issue when the novelty wears off and/or the weather warms up making the outdoor seating an option. We waited a looooong time for a table (quite a bit longer than they estimated when we put our name on the list). Second, I witnessed an uncomfortable interaction between a customer and someone i assume to be a manager. Pro tip: Skip the defensiveness and just solve the customer's problem. read more

I do not think I have ever been more angry with a restaurant in my life. If negative stars were possible, they earned them tonight. We ordered 2 pizzas online at 2:00 PM for pickup at 6:00 PM, clearly stated on the receipt. We paid $40 for 2 pizzas and also tipped 20% ahead of time, big mistake, so almost $50. We arrived at 6:00 PM for pickup (we had an appointment 1 block away and were going to eat there). The pizzas were not ready. I left my wife there and walked to the appointment. My wife finally showed up at 6:30. She received the pizzas at 6:24 PM, obviously they had not even started our order despite it being placed at 2:00 PM. She opened the box and looked at the crust, it was raw! So, not only was it 24 minutes late, it was inedible. Both pizzas were like this. Then, to add insult to injury, my wife gets a text at 7:10 PM that our order was ready and to come pick it up?!?!? What??? We already picked up the RAW pizza! $50 thrown in the trash. We tried to order from the Five Forks location on a Saturday night and it was randomly closed. I've had this happen with other locations as well - randomly closed on a weekend night, which makes zero sense to me. But I'll chalk it up to poor staffing because of trying to recover from COVID. We decided to then drive the whole family to the downtown Simpsonville location and eat there. Giant mistake. We got there at 5pm and the restaurant was hardly busy; certainly nothing that was crazy. We ordered breadsticks as soon as sitting down and it took 30 minutes to get them. When they came out they were clearly undercooked, very chewy. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our pizza. We ordered the spicy Italian and it was so sloppy and flimsy you couldn't pick it up because it just fell in to a giant slop. The gluten free cheese pizza was fine though. Overall, it was incredibly disappointing. And this is coming from someone who is a major advocate of sidewall; tonight my family didn't want to go because I always force them to do sidewall and not somewhere else (because it's usually such good quality) but now I've been turned off for the immediate future. I'll be back of course, but to give them another chance mainly because of how much I usually love them. It was just a poor experience from start to finish and to top it off, we had staff checking in on us very infrequently and no apologies for how long it was obviously taking. Only reason I didn't give a one star is because I know they can do better, but if this was my first experience I doubt I would return. read more
