I would leave no stars but it won't let me. I ordered a cheese pizza at 8:50 pm with estimated time of 45 minutes. At 9:45 started wondering where it was. Called at 10pm and was told it was a few minutes away. Called back at 10:15pm was told driver got lost and brought it back. Asked for a discount and was told we would have to cancel the order. I got a pizza delivered thru Grubhub. The box wasn't sealed and when I opened it, it had clearly been tossed upside down. Either at the restaurant or by the driver. When I opened the box, there was an overwhelming fish smell. I didn't order fish on my pizza nor did I order those stringy purple onions. The crust is thin and looks and smells so inedible even if they wouldn't have damaged it, I wouldn't have eaten it. Totally gross. Will not be ordering a repeat. I ordered an Italiano Deep Dish Pizza for delivery. I added mushrooms, carmelized onions, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. The pizza looked great until I picked up a slice. It was basically 2-3 inch high dough that was not quite done covered up by the thinnest layer of toppings I have ever seen. I could not even see any onions or mushrooms. In addition to that, I discovered that the upcharge Romeo's has set up through the delivery service is exorbitant...added almost $10 to the price of the pizza, and this did not include the delivery fees. Never pay over the phone for pickup so you can just leave. My dad was there to pickup the order at 7. The order was ready, but he didn't get it until 7:40ish because the employees seemed overwhelmed and kept using it's a Friday night to justify their incompetents. He gave them the name for the order and the employee went to the back and never returned. I called the store to confirm it was the right place and gave my dad's name that he was there for the order. She said she looked and there was no one there for that order. According to my dad no one came to look or ask for his name. Until after he called the store while he was there. He finally gets the order but it was cold and didn't have the extra sauce I was charged for.I called back to complain and the manger just kept repeating its Friday night and that he would take $10 off my next order... like I don't get how he came to the conclusion I would want to come back after how terrible this experience has been. I guess I arrived too early to pick up my pizza and after giving my name to the staff I was told "it's Friday night ma'am" "our ovens are packed" "you are fifth on the list"." She finally calmed down a little and said "give us 15-20 minutes". Mind you, I was not rude and I did not say anything back to her. We have always gotten delivery from Romeo's but last week I was near by so I ordered ahead and headed in to pick up. I want to start off by stating that the food was ya know, good for SC pizza; and that the employees are very nice. My order was not ready and it hadn't even started. A computer glitch, it happens. Could I wait 15 minutes? Two littles in the Jeep but yes I'll go get gas or something. What was not cool, was the fact that not one single employee had on a mask. I saw one disposable face mask laying on top of a box behind the counter. Not only that, the employee followed me out to my truck, to apologize about the wait, which was super nice but again no mask on. I had one on. I didn't want to make a scene or hurt the young man's feelings so I simply waited for the pizza and threw it away upon arriving home. We had PB&J instead. We just moved here so we've only ordered twice but both times are order wasn't what we ordered. The first time they forgot our garlic butter and the second time we wanted one pizza cooked regular and the other well done but both were well done. Fairly new spot in Simpsonville and I saw that they had Chicago Deep Dish so i had to try it. Ordered and paid online and picked it up at the window. Super-easy! I got it with pepperoni, sausage and onion. The sauce is a bit sweet, which is fine by me, and really delicious. The crust was also great and the toppings were just right. Next time I will definitely get extra sauce for dipping the crust. Looking forward to trying more menu items! read more

We are huge fans of Romeo's Pizza. Especially the Italiano deep dish pizza with Italian Sausage & Caramelized Onions. It doesn't look all that special, but it is amazing. COVID 19 alert Forgot the basil pesto sauce on my pizza as I didnt open the box til I got home. Called to ask for a replacement. When I got there was asked see the pie and told he could add the sauce to it. I said my pizza is cold I want a new one. He said well the sauce is cold and it's on the side. Had to read the description from the menu stating it comes ON the pizza. Remade it then, and I had to WAIT. When ready asked for my old pizza back like I am trying to get a free pizza, which is against DHEC restaurant protocol due to COVID 19 since it left the store, into my HOUSE. Guess catching an imaginary thief or hustler and saving the pizza place a few dollars is more important than employee and customer safety. Needless to say I will not return. read more

I've only had Romeo's a few times and I honestly wasn't previously overwhelmed but I tried their stuffed crust pizza and my entire family loved it! I personally feel they tend to overcook the pizza a bit so I go with a light bake on every order. Hand-made crust and the sauce has a hint of sweetness. A little sparse with the toppings in my opinion but we'll be seeing them again I'm sure! read more

I am a pizza fanatic. My favorite is Miami's best but since we are not in Miami, Grimaldi's is a good second choice( I reviewed on yelp) . I never would've went into Romeo's because it is Chicago style which is not my favorite but I met the owners in Publix and we got to talking so I remember I needed to give them a try sometime. I ordered a half sheet with mushrooms green peppers onions pepperoni and it was delicious. Like I said I'm not a Chicago deep dish guy but this is the real deal or at least a variation of it that I really like. I absolutely love their thin crust pizza. It reminds me of a place back home in WI. I've ordered several times, but tonight we tried the mozzarella sticks. Do NOT recommend. Horrible. Baked on one side and so not crunchy or 'stringy' as you'd expect with a deep fried mozzarella stick. Very gummy and just gross. Pizza is great. But don't go for the boneless wings either. Tried Romeo's when we moved to the area earlier this year and have had it at least once a month since. Ordered it for a group of hungry men moving furniture and it was gone within 10 minutes. We always get the chicken bacon ranch pizza and try one other new pizza we've never had each time. Capone sauce is delicious with the chicken pizzas. Thick crust so get a dipping sauce as well. When we asked people from here if they had heard of this place they said "is that the gas station pizza place?" And we found out that yes it is and it's better than almost any pizza we've had. Ordered the deep dish with green peppers and crumbled meatballs. Don't have deep dish very often and this one did not disappoint. Very good pizza. Best I've had in the area in a while. I am not a fan of overly sweet sauces so was worried about the sweet sauce comments. I thought the sauce and crust were great! Restaurant food in general and pizza in particular tend to be overly salty. This was not! I'm wondering if the sweet complaints meant that it doesn't have the overly salty taste that we get used to. This is 2020, get with the program! Tonight was the last time I will ever TRY ordering pizza from this restaurant. If you have an app, it should work. If you have received multiple complaints from your regular customers about the same problem then fix it or take the app down. Certainly don't argue with a customer or treat them like they are lying when they call in to order a pizza special that is advertised on the non-functioning app. This has been a constant problem since we moved to the area five months ago. Moving here from Chicago, I've been looking for a pizza that reminds me of Chicago. It took 4 years, but I found a place that reminds me of the Midwest, Chicago. The Italiano with the sauce on top is the type of pizza that I am used to. The pizza was delicious. The crust was perfect; not overdone. Just very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the pizza online, after debating Papa Johns or here. I also read a review about a sweet sauce, not sure what they were talking about? If anything the sauce is light and you can barely taste it over the other great ingredients. We got the bacon chicken ranch and the butcher pizza. Both were excellent. The price of the pizza seems high here but it's one of those things where you get what you pay for. Our pizzas were at least 3 times heavier than Papa johns, which I love and will still get occasionally. The weight was because of the quality and amount of ingredients they use. Highly recommend, just take advantage of their online or mobile offers and you will not be disappointed. Over all of the pizza places around her, this is 1 of the 2 places I will go to. read more
