Ordered and never gotten spoken to again until after we sat with empty drinks for about 15 mins while the bartender, Kelly, chatted with her friends and closed the bar top down early. She then went to the bathroom, our drinks still empty, came back did a few more things and then asked us if we wanted another one real quick? At this point it was still an hour before they closed. My one star is only indicative of the ACTUAL bar staff. The manager, Kevin, was rude and unaccommodating to anyone outside the group of ten+ that he was helping outdoors. He was rude and belittling when called out on his unprofessional behavior which is awful because the bartender and the chef were amazing. Frankly, this place would be incredible if it wasn't for their manager and it seemed like the bar staff was aware that he was unprofessional. My friends and I took a road trip to solvang and visited this place during our stay in Buellton. Our taxi driver highly recommended this place. Although the inside and drinks we amazing, the male and female bartender had this weird vibe to them. From the moment we walked in, they eyed us and hesitated to take our order. The male bartender took all of our orders and made such a face while making our drinks. My friend needed to go to the restroom, and the make bartender rudely told her she was going to wrong way. I don't want to make it a race thing and say that they were being rude to us for being POC, but they were kind to everyone in that bar besides us. We eventually left because the vibe there was just negative. And sure enough when we were walking out, the bartenders eyed us and the male bartender leaned into the girl and whispered something about us. I didn't come here to get judged and feel unwelcome. Don't bother to go on Thursday night "local" night. The hotdogs and tri-tip sandwiches are tepid and the coleslaw is warm. The food is obviously prepared elsewhere and there's a feeble attempt to keep it warm with candle flames. The coleslaw was just sitting on the table without any means of cooling. I called before we came last Friday and made sure they had appetizers. The lady on the phone said yes. We got there and I asked for a food menu and was handed a drink menu. Great bar and great service from Jennie! Enjoyed a couple IPAs yesterday. The environment is really nice and there's even TVs to watch sports. The outdoor patio is a great touch if you're in the mood for enjoying some sunshine. Very nice place for friends to gather. Nice outdoor area with deep seating and heaters for cold nights. Good wine selection that is fairly priced. Also newly renovated bar area, lots of space and attactively laid out. Service not the best the night we were there, and it wasn't crowded, but perhaps the bartender just had a bad day. The decor in this place is great! Super trendy and fitting for the area. Being locals to the central coast we are around often. Traveling from SLO to SB 3 times a week. Me and my husband stayed at the hotel two times and popped in to the lounge. The blonde bartender (Kelli??) was so visibly rude to us. She tShe didn't even listen to our order. And brought the wrong things. We proceeded to watch her smile and be friendly to other customers. I know this is Buellton and it has a rancher vibe, but this is CALIFORNIA and you might get alternative people who aren't 50+ male ranchers. Just because we have tattoos doesn't mean we are less then and deserve poor treatment. Honestly, just common curtesy. You are in a SERVICE INDUSTRY. You should treat it as such. We have children and don't get date night as often as we would like, so we would like to be treated with the same respect as everyone else at the bar when we are out. Not too much to ask. This place was most likely designed/remodeled by people like us. Artists. Unfortunately, she brings the vibe down. This could be a really hip place, but anyone under 50 would probably feel unwelcome. Beautiful remodel done and what a fantastic space! Recently celebrated my birthday here and the service was incredible. Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful decor. Bartenders and cocktail waitress were very attentive to our needs. The hotel recently underwent a renovation and the property has become such a gem in the city of Buellton. I was quite surprised with the remodel of the Sideways Inn Lounge. They had a nice selection of craft beer AND wine on tap. Lots of TVs to watch the game. Outdoor seating with an outdoor fireplace so a place to hang out with your dog. Full cocktail bar. read more

This is a great spot for a relaxing drink after a long day. We came in a few weeks ago after driving for several hours, and it was an inviting and welcome respite. Our server, Jenni, was friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. We were told the Lounge had recently been renovated, and it looks incredible. It's a cool mix of industrial meets wine-country comfort.They have a great selection of local wines (which is what we enjoyed), and the cocktail menu looked incredible; We'll have to try one the next time we're in town...and we'll definitely be back! read more
