Also, the piece's second hand had detached and was skating freely across the watch face. The associate who greeted me was very enthusiastic about seeing a Tony the Tiger watch and quickly presented me with service options. Sensing my concern about cost of fixing the second hand, she offered an alternative. She also told me the item would be ready by the end of the week but I was called for pick-up well before that timeline. Now, for just over $10, I have the watch up and spinning. She took in a diamond earring she had lost the pair to and not only did they make her a perfect break replica but they encouraged her to talk to the insurance company who fully covered the cost. I took in my engagement ring to be resized before my wedding and they finished it in one day and didn't charge me a rush fee. She offered to look at my wedding band to make sure it was the right size and cleaned and found that two of the diamonds were loose. I was skeptical of this store when I saw it, expecting it to have things Americans would think are Czech, but that in actuality are not in fact Czech. To my delight, I was wrong! This store had many nice things from the old country. There sold a lot of crystal - drinking glasses, vases, bowl, and even the little crystal animals I would see for sale in Prague. They also had a fair number of the really nice Christmas ornaments that are common in Europe, and they also had a good number of fancily decorated eggs (at least in Germany people would decorate a small Easter tree with these eggs, similar to how we decorate a Christmas tree, but smaller). I talked briefly with an older woman who, by the sound of her accent, I imagine had moved here from the Czech Republic. All in all, I thought this was a delightful store and I would recommend stopping by if you are in the neighborhood.

Before cleaning it Miriam checked it for loose stones and noticed that two were loose in their setting. It was a problem I had had before with the ring, but thought had been corrected by a previous jeweler. Miriam was very helpful in clearly explaining why the stones were loose and even showing me under magnification what the issue was. Though I am not from the area, I visit regularly for business, so I decided to have her do the adjustment to my ring to correct the problem. Just before the work was done she gave me another call with more detail and a few more ideas for my ring. Once we decided which route to go, the work was done within the time frame she had estimated for me (which was important since I wanted to time my ring being done with my next visit to the area). I was very pleased with the quality of work done. She made sure to let me know that she would check the ring in the future at no charge to make sure the stones remained set as intended. Throughout the entire process, from the time I first walked in the door until after I'd picked up my ring, the most impressive part of the experience was the effort and care Miriam gave to me as a customer. I felt she was very invested in making sure that I understood what my options were. She listened carefully and was understanding of what my priorities were, and she offered helpful suggestions based on the feedback I gave. My experience was a fairly simple jewelry repair, not terribly complex or expensive. If she put the amount of concern and attention to detail into something as small as my issue, I am completely confident that she would be a terrific resource for someone looking for custom jewelry or someone wanting work done on an heirloom piece.

I wanted to replace my current wedding band from years ago because it has tiny prongs (from another…read morestore) that snag on everything. I did a considerable amount of research this time to make sure I get a band that will last longer than 6 years, and visited every jewelry store in the area, just to see how different styles looked on my hand. My expectations were low, since the store was in the mall. There were 2 older ladies working that day, and they were very nice at first. The lighting is very poor - dimly lit, does nothing for the diamonds. The inventory was very small, and it was all chunkier settings - lots of channel sets and lower quality diamonds than what I was looking for. I explained what I wanted, and since they did not have anything that met that description, they just made suggestions on alternatives. The older lady suggested that I completely reset my diamond, because now that I am a little older, my tastes clearly must have matured and I can "upgrade" to a heavier setting. Or perhaps I would like to buy TWO bands and really complete the look? I was not amused - my tastes do not lean towards the chunky, metal-heavy, early 90's style. But that is exactly what both of their personal rings were, so if that is your style, this place is for you. Prices were too high for the quality of craftsmanship and diamonds available. There was one band that was "passable" and I wanted to write it down simply for price comparison when I visited other stores. They would not write down anything without taking down my information. Very irritating. No other store did that. Would never go back. People, please do not buy jewelry at the mall, their margins are astronomical. (I only went because I thought they would have the most variety so I could try on different styles, which ended up not being the case anyways.)
