Another resale/vintage place I found via Yelp that had glowing reviews. Parking on the street is a nightmare unless you happen to arrive early or get lucky. Make sure you either have enough coins or have a credit card on hand to pay for the meters. The man and his wife (the owner) greeted me warmly and asked how I found their shop. (I told them through Yelp.) They specialize in carrying vintage clothing from the 1950s onward since it is difficult to find anything older that is in good, wearable condition. Most of the vintage they carry is designer vintage. Sielian has a great eye and after meeting me in her shop, she began making suggestions and pulling them from racks for me to try on. One was a dress reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn that Dianna Agron had tried on last time which was a bit expensive for my budget so I had to pass on it. But she pulled this 1980s Chloe dress with a drop back that I fell in love with. At first, I left it there to think about it. A few days later I called her back about the piece which was till there. Because it was a flattering and elegant piece that I really wanted to wear, Mom helped me negotiate a little lower price. They have an impressive amount of clothes at various price points and styles but don't be surprised if some of the pieces seem a bit high priced. I will most likely be back for more. read more

One word: RUDE. Came in right before closing which we were told it was by appointment only but since we mentioned we were referred, they let us in. I was very grateful for the owners doing that until my friend revealed he caught both of them texting back and forth about us... talk about tacky. Let's be real: Their pieces aren't that astounding and their level of professionalism is also questionable. I AM DISGUSTED AT HOW I WAS TREATED YESTERDAY. I went in looking for dresses for my destination WEDDING (bachelorette dress, bridal shower dress, rehearsal dinner dress, and reception dress) the woman was so condescending from the get-go. Saying I NEED to wear spanks with these, that don't worry about my body because size 14 people come in? That I was lazy, talking about her weight and how I still "have time" to lose for my wedding? What the actual f? How is that professional at all, especially when it's such a sacred and special time for me? I will NOT be buying the dress I liked and will tell everyone I know in the fashion industry to never support this business. I have never been so humiliated in a retail space in my life. I visited Sielian for the first time about a year ago, and I'm only sad that I don't live closer or spend more time in California because this is one of my favorite stores . . . in the world! I'm a fashion creative and writer (The Eye Travels) and I spend a lot of time looking at and searching for unique clothing. Sielian Vintage is a diamond in the ruff. It was the rave reviews on Yelp that brought me into the boutique to begin with. Meeting Sielian Lie and her husband Tsutomu, then perusing their collection of gorgeous vintage threads was a true pleasure. So much so that I returned the next day to continue our conversations. For me it was the best of both worlds, I had Sielian who is passionate, knowledgeable and meticulous about vintage clothing, she has impeccable taste and a precise eye when acquiring and caring for unique clothing from years past. Then I had Tsutomu, a flutist and lover of classical music, and as a classical clarinetist myself it's needless to say that they instantly became one of my favorite couples. I couldn't imagine a more perfect store, it is the anti-vintage vintage store, the opposite of feeling overwhelmed by hundreds of packed racks of clothing. Each garment is extremely special, making it no surprise that celebrity stylists flock to Sielian when they need the perfect red carpet stunner for a Hollywood starlet. I purchased a gorgeous Adele Simpson three piece ensemble that I recently wore to Milan Fashion Week, it literally looks brand new. read more

The guy who runs the place (with his wife) is super nice. I mean like, go-out-of-his way to be helpful and sweet. I went in looking for a vintage wedding dress and he showed me heir stock that they keep tucked away in a closet. They had some very nice pieces--unfortunately not what i was looking for. Another plus? They pay for parking. I put some change in the meter but was getting close to running out of time while browsing the store. I commented about needing to put more change in and he reached in a drawer and gave me two quarters and explained that they cover parking at their store. Wow! How unheard of is that in Hollywood? They even have a restroom that they allow you to use. Again, we are talking about West Hollywood on Melrose! The sad thing is I still ended up with a parking ticket because i had accidentally parked parallel over the diagonal lines. When I first parked another car was parked like that and I was unable to see any lines so I didn't think twice. I came out to find the parking police writing my ticket. Be very careful when parking in this area. Aside from my less-than-fortunate parking experience I remained in a good mood and felt grateful for incredibly helpful non-pretentious people. I now own about six treasures I've purchased at Sielian's Vintage Boutique. I am collecting them one or two at a time and each one is a joy to own! I just bought a YSL top yesterday! Gorgeous! This shop has restored my passion for vintage clothing which is something I thought I was done shopping for. My Green neighbors to the left! Sielian's Vintage Apparel is a fresh take on vintage! No spelly old clothes here. Just beautiful fashion finds in a clean modern/retro store. Everything is one of a kind and freshly drycleaned. There are so many options and the owners are very sweet and helpful. Its not uncommon to see celebrities like the Hilton sisters and famous stylists shopping there. The prices are reasonable for vintage too. Dress range from $150 - $500. They also have great accessories. If you are stylish (that should be everyone in LA) you must check this place out! read more

The couple who owns the store is super nice and helpful - you can tell they really love and take pride in what they do. There's an endless supply of hidden gems here. I've been going to Sielian's for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. She has the most interesting and gorgeous pieces I've seen. Plus she is so sweet and her husband is a doll as well. But the clothes! And the jewelry and belts... not cheap, but not super pricey either. All beautiful. I have several pieces from her that I will keep forever.
