I have been living here since January 2021 and at first I was hesitant because of all the reviews (they were quite old reviews to begin with). CON: The only complaint I have at first was the parking. There are limited spaces and people keep taking the visitors parking without a pass. We were put on the waiting list and finally got a parking spot. However, this is out of the staff's control when it came to visitors "stealing" parking spots without a pass. The gym, it needs windows :( it is so hot in there. Please fix. The traffic on Sierra Hwy during rush hour, beware! Also, out of staff's control. PRO: Management has changed so I think that's what made the community better. I absolutely love the staff and maintenance staff! They are very attentive and fast when it comes to needing help or fixing something in the apartment. I've built a great rapport with them as well as friendships. They make life living here such a great community. Treat them with respect, they are human beings too and doing their job. The apartment community has a lot of family. It's a very family oriented apartment and all the neighbors are so nice and looks out for each other. Friendly faces everywhere. I feel safe here! So close (walking distance) to grocery, food, cleaners, Canyon Country Community Center (which also houses the Farmer's Market). read more

So it's not a boring personal experience review, here's the rundown: Office manager and assistant (Irlanda and Marie) are honestly very kind and helpful. Sometimes, like anyone, they forget to do certain things or contact you over matters all you got to do is touch base again and they'll make you a priority. Applying was great and even with me having a bad credit score (partner had 740) they were able to get us approve easily and got us going quick. I had no problem with maintenance team or office but just beware of living bottom floor. I had my packages stolen multiple times (they seem to like the electronic hazard sign) and living under someone is terrible no one has decency to put in their screaming kid or stop them from running around upstairs cause they're lazy and dont take em out to play. Honestly people here are ghetto and uncivilized but I guess Jake way across the corner so what did I expect. There are nice people here but mostly central American's that will let the trash bin get extremely full and leave stuff on the ground all around the apartment complex/parking where the trash is. Parking is terrible if you own a truck or SUV don't live here. Our BMW can barely fit in between 2 SUV's we literally lost weight just to get into our cars at 5 AM. I will say the convenience of everything there is nice but between 3-7 dont even think about leaving because you can't get out of that place. So much traffic coming down Sierra makes it impossible to leave. We hated having to go anywhere with a car after 3 it's always full of cars and there's a commercial truck company there so a lot of heavy duty vehicles. Laundry rooms suck cause some work some don't and there are occasional cockroaches in the laundry sadly. Also my apt was riddled with cockroaches and crickets. They don't seem to seal under door's properly so check that before move in. We had a more updated apt but overall still lacked common building practices. Light switches that didn't do anything, light switches that are hidden behind the towel hanger so you can't hang anything there so people can find it, kitchen is outrageously set up so theres only 1 person comfortably able to be there, floors were poorly installed and used glue to keep em down, windows that didn't open properly, even flooring, 2 doors for a bathroom...1 and lastly the door bell was broken lol. I will say this place is not worth it unless you don't make the money to go elsewhere or credit is at 600 and below. I also would not trust the base rent -- due to people irresponsibility the trash, sewage and landscaping/cleaning is crazy. We paid 1925 or something and our bills were up to 2100-2200 range based on fees not including our electric and gas bill which are separate ultimately running the charges up to 2300 just to live there. Lastly, in a sad fashion my last impression by the management company (Hopefully not the office people) stole most of my deposit. My deposit was 1925 along with my pet deposit. My cat did not damage anything and I only installed a TV on a support in the living room. 2 nickel sized holes and I even patched it for them just didn't use paint to color match which I was told was awesome. Irlanda came in for the final inspection. She was in awe on how clean we kept it. My partner and I are in medical so it was just sleep, waking up and eating in there. We didn't plan to stay there so we didn't hand pictures or decor. Literally only installed a TV, walls, floors, bathroom and carpet were immaculate. Irlanda really said it seemed like we didn't even live there. Here we are I am in a much better apt now but we get our return deposit summary and out of 1925 (no exact) we are getting less than $500 back. They charger us $600 for paint... I had no idea they painted 6 other units with our deposit but good for them. Everything else was justifiable but $600 for painting 2 drill holes. Overall I'd live here if you really need to like I did due to work but honestly i'd try to live in Valencia not Canyon Country. read more

I promised I would never say this but if I could give no stars then I would. Sadly the place I called home for almost two years had become an unbearable nightmare day and night, every day. Please save your sanity and live somewhere else. Cheap but comes with a price of having to deal with inconsiderate, rude neighbors who have no respect or common courtesy for your time, your space and your home. My husband and I quickly came to learn that even though we all pay for our own assigned parking spaces, somehow that doesn't mean anything and people will still park however they want. They will bring over a wannabe mechanic to block your parking space and have you wait as they continue to block your space to get in. It would always be a ongoing concern if we were to come home one day and find another vehicle in our assigned parking space. Also if you like random people coming in and out doing who knows what in the middle of the night right next to your bedroom window, then this place is for you. People drinking with open alcohol containers and smoking right next to your bedroom window at night? This is the place for you. If you like loud music playing and banging/vibrating from your bedroom wall then specifically ask to live in apartment F107. (see picture for reference). If you like sending emails about all of your concerns and worries for months and months with no response from your management then I welcome you to the Sierra Canyon Apartments. I pray I save someone. This is the kind of apartment complex that makes you wish you'd taken apartment reviews more seriously, as I will not fabricate or overly dramatize my experience here -- anyone saying otherwise is simply lying. My first 3 days were actually pretty cool aside from the kids that run around every single day, which almost none of them goes to school. Every resident has a dog and will poop and pee on your front lawn. A dog park and kids play area is badly needed here. Parking is terrible. Break-in's constantly. You'll get a far park from your actual unit that's literally too small for a Toyota Corolla so good luck if you have a bigger car. Your neighbor are all over capacity in their 3 bedroom units which are above all the 1 bedroom units (which they fail to disclose) so not only will you hear stomping and banging 24/7, you're pipes all all connected so in a 4 plex unit, you guys all share the same water :) Cockroaches infestation of course, as I read a complaint about this way in 2018 which didn't change and neither did the management inconsistency but the bugs are mainly due to the really old infrastructure of the buildings which honestly need to be demolished and rebuilt. Amazon, FedEx, UPS they will all misplace your packages as they don't have a locker here and if it reaches the hands of someone else, good luck. Mail boxes are outside and constantly being broken into. 1 and 2 bedrooms don't come with washing and drying machines so you'd have to use the coin machines which are normally broken, dirty, or if you overcome the first two you'll chance someone coming in and stealing your clothes. Wet or dry. We have nighttime patrol, which is essentially here, is having nothing as gangs are through here constantly. Phone doesn't even ring when you call and goes straight to a full mailbox. I pray someone buy out this complex and actually do something with it while I'm in my lease. The building have potential but definitely isn't worth anything over than $1200. They're so behind and the property managers are all younger inconsiderate workers. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you absolutely don't have anywhere to go. Good luck. read more

Been here about 4 years now and it's been good. Not nearly as ghetto as down the street on Jake's way. We had a run in with a girl on drugs and a guy who shot a gun outside my window, but hey everyone was ok in the end. Used to live in the valley and that was far far worse. The units could have better bathrooms, and I know some of the more recently updated ones do have slightly improved ones. Neighbors are all nice. Kids scream outside at 8am on Saturdays which sucks for people that wanna sleep in, but it's whatever. It feels like a friendly neighborhood and I'm sure the kids are having a great childhood growing up here. Despite what the office says, they do bend on price. I was able to negotiate $350/month off a 3 bed. I'd give it 5 stars if they had handled our situation with the mold better, but it was at least satisfactory. We wanted a totally new unit, but they just had us move to a 1 bed, and then a 3 bed, before returning us back in to our unit. They didn't bother to have anyone help us move our stuff in the super short time span they gave us. I would have expected at least some movers. It could have been a super easy lawsuit too and we decided not to, so again I would have liked more help from the complex since we chose to be nice. Anyways I wouldn't worry about that as I've seen the other units and they're nice. Ours is a little run down and hasn't been updated in a long time, so problems are a given. Tldr just move here and try to haggle if you're thinking about it. read more

I just had the most horrible experience with the staff at the leasing office The staff was very unpleasant and disappointing. Irlanda was very rude, disrespectful and honestly I felt discriminated against, I have never in my 44 years of life felt or have been made feel this way before. Irlanda was extremely, rude, and inconsiderate & honestly needs a training moment. When people have questions it is okay not to know the answer and say that they don't know instead of becoming defensive and disrespectful and insulative. Moved here in 2021 and it's really been the nicest most affordable place in canyon country. All the neighbors are respectful and the families that have been living here for a while are very welcoming. The leasing office staff is always super helpful and attentive. Maintenance request are done online and the turnaround times to get something fixed is always reasonable. The property his always kept clean and is pet friendly. They have a nice community pool and a new updated gym. So if your looking for a nice friendly affordable place to live I recommend Sierra Canyon. read more

I wish I could give this place -0 stars. I PROMISE YOU GUYS WHOEVER COMES ACROSS THIS POST THAT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX IS NOT FOR ANYONE. Avenue 5 that turned into 6 star properties. Whatever they promise you when you are signing for a lease here is all BULL. Irlanda the front desk girl HORRIBLE. Rude, inconsiderate & uneducated. My boyfriend called the office around 5:30pm because the water has been cold for TWO days. The first day that we noticed it was cold was at night and no one was here to deal with it so we left it like that. The second day which is today he was at work all day and I was at school we literally got here at 5:00pm of course we called late because we haven't been here and I advised him to call the office before people leave. So that's what he did. Irlanda said she called the maintenance people to see where they were at she said he can fix it the next day at 8am. He asked her if we can call someone and have the property reimburse us she said that they don't allow that, so now we're going on another day without showering?? I took over the phone call and asked her for the email of the property and she completely ignored me and repeatedly kept asking if we wanted the 8am appointment & I responded I want the email of the property again she ignored me and I asked her what is your name she then said "so you don't want the 8am" and HANGS UP THE PHONE. HANGS UP THE PHONE. I was in complete disbelief that someone that's supposed to be "PROFESSIONAL" would hang up the phone. My boyfriend and I walk over there to the office because that's not okay for someone to do especially someone who is supposed to be the face of this property. We go inside the office and the first thing she says is "ARE YOU SERIOUS" and I respond "of course I'm serious" then she wants to blame ME for coming off strong when I DIDNT EVEN SAY A WORD WHEN I GOT IN THERE. What she was supposed to say was "Hi how can I help you" but no she wanted to assume. What if that was someone else? She assumed it was the girl she was talking to. I am in SHOCK that this property has someone like her. This shows me that they hire anyone off the street, with ZERO knowledge of how to be professional when speaking to someone. Last time I checked when you are WORKING you don't hang up the phone that is common sense and second that's not the first thing you say to someone who walks into the office. Of course she doesn't see my frustration because she's not the one living here. I'm sure if she put herself in my shoes, being pregnant and NOT being able to shower she would want something done or at least would want some clarification on what we can do in this situation. A comment she made was "what do you expect me to go fix it myself" no one is saying for her to go fix it but when we ask her what can we do in the moment she has no answer. So if she doesn't know and we don't know what is supposed to be done. If they make you believe that they care I promise you they don't. I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE and your TIME. She wants to talk about RESPECT. From what I know YOU GIVE respect when you RECEIVE respect! This all started when she decided to hang up the phone because not one second of that phone call did I disrespect her. Sorry I asked for her name and email of the owner. We've been living here a little over 3 years now and have and it has been quite the pleasant experience. The units are very nice and clean maintenance is always very very nice and ready to assist if you have any issues. The court yard area is super nice and well maintained very nice for like picnics or just sitting outside on a nice day. The staff is very helpful Irlanda the leasing agent is super sweet and is ready for any questions you may have and if she doesn't have an answer for you she will investigate for you and come back with a proper response. Their apartments are infected with cockroaches they blame people but they are under the carpets and come out through the bathtub . Service is so bad specially the one in the front and the old woman , they pretend to be the manager and once you ask them something and they don't know they transfer the call to someone else . They pretend to be nice but are rude once you live there , except Valery the manager she's not the best but I can't complain about her . Washer and dryers Suck there they are always stealing your money and when you call and ask for your money back they just give you 10 bucks. They are just rude and I am sorry for all the residents living there, there's also people that has a bunch of stuff in the balcony and they don't say anything but if they see you with a freaking chair they will leave a freaking paper and tell u to move it . They are not fair at all . In the other hand Maintenance guys are really nice they are always doing a good job . I just moved in with my husband and father in law almost a year ago and before we got the new management team in the office I had complained to Rita and Sandra about the 2 fat maintenance men who were following me to my sister's car on their golf cart and they said to me "Me gusta tu culo" and I was wearing grey sweats and a tank top. I took Spanish classes for 2 years so I understood what they said which is disgusting and for the office to not do anything about it makes it worse. Also the skinny gardener with the green shirt stalked me while I was walking my yorki and he even stood behind me for no reason while I was checking my mail and I said "Can I help you?" And he smiled creepy at me. Another girl has told me that they've also done the same to her. If the office won't do anything then I will make a police report. read more

I have to say that a lot of the complaints here are internal - the violators are the residents that allow their friends or "roommates" run around and break the rules. The office is not at fault for people not following the rules - dogs off the leash happen all the time - when the office is closed - how do you blame them. Rita, Sandra and Jody do the best to find you a place to live and the maintenance does their part to fix whatever you need done. Does it always go smoothly - not always but they do everyone a service by finding you your new home. Now if you choose to not report something and just want to lay blame that is your choice. Give them a chance by letting them know what is going on and I'm certain they will do their part to help. I can count on my hand the number of times I have asked for something to be fixed. They take care of what needs to be done. Now if you really wanted to help make the community better - let them know if there is too many people in the apartments - stop trying to rent the rooms to people that will not follow the rules. It's not a gated building so remember that there is also going to be people that don't belong here but you have a voice also - don't just give it to the office. If we do our part, it will make the building nicer for everyone. I see the stuff that happens after hours - your frustration is that they don't do anything perhaps but - report it, document it so they could do their part. Rita is usually available if you need something - she is approachable. Sandra is always eager to help and Jody is always around to help + she does the events for the children which is always nice. I lived here a few years back, contemplating moving back to the area and wanted to check reviews for the latest updates. Glad to see Rita, Sandra and Jody still there. They work great as a team as well as independently. Those complaining that they didn't get their full deposit back (shrugs), I got my full deposit back. It's important to note that even if you clean the place, if it's not move in ready then they have to hire someone to do it over. I lived first floor and never had any issues. read more

This place is absolutely terrible, constant smell of weed in the air around the entire neighborhood, no one picks up after their dogs so it lines the sidewalks, groups of drug dealers standing in the front of the neighborhood, drunk people passed out in front of their houses - or sometimes even in front of YOUR house! Parking is just ridiculous, people park their broken down cars in the guest parking and have left them There for months while others half to park a mile away in the complex down the street. The dumpsters are always overflowing and and are completely disgusting. Cockroaches everywhere - luckily our building seemed to be less infected only saw 5-10 of them while living there but other buildings were being fumigated monthly. Don't let the price of this place draw you in, I wouldn't live in these apartments again if they paid me. The management does nothing about any of this, so don't even bother. Worst apartment complex ever. DO NOT MOVE HERE! You have been warned! read more

I would give the apartment zero stars if I could. This apartment complex is the most horrific place I have ever lived. The residents are low class and ghetto, the property management has no control over anyone living here. The staff leaves at 6pm and security doesn't arrive until 10. This means that from 6:30-9:30 every night the residents do whatever they want including throwing huge parties, teens drinking and smoking pot, groups of 20+ children playing soccer and cursing loudly. The parents are even worse. My cat often sits in the window and mothers let their children walk up and loudly bang on it. When I ask the children to stop nicely I get the rudest glares and grumbles in Spanish. Not to mention there are several domestic violence incidents, not including the recent murder and suicide we had. The cops are here at least 3 nights out of the week. There is no guest parking because people park their broken down cars on the lot and don't move them. Homeless also frequent the complex, leaving their grocery carts and trash laying around. The place is infested with roaches, I spray my unit weekly to keep them from coming into mine. Please I am trying to save you the misery of getting stuck here for a whole year like me! We are currently trying to save the money to break our lease so we can escape this awful place. If you don't believe me please call the local sheriffs station first for a second opinion and visit between the hours of 6:30 and 9:30 to see for yourself how the place is when management is gone. Very unprofessional. Don't ever get into trap of giving $250 holding deposit, you will never get it back. I was assigned N105 Apartment, I got approved through their website which takes $10 for the application fee for each applicant but when you go their office, they will request $35 fee per person to run another credit check. I fell into trap giving them holding deposit of $250 and $35 application. Later I was told to bring in $35 for my wife application fee, room rent and additional $250 in deposit when I move in on January 19th, 2018. One week later my wife got a call, if we don't pay the $35 fee by 11 am by next day, our application will be cancelled. Since I wasnt in the town, we thought our apartment was cancelled. Now they won't return holding deposit of $250. I regret going to this place. Avoid it. read more

I wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars!!!! Management is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! They are very rude especially Rita and Sandra. Only person I ever wanted to deal with was Jody. If you must speak to anyone speak to her. A million things are wrong with this place, l'll state a few. #1 parking is horrible. They claim you can't park in the "reserved " section until after 6, I got off work and was home by 430 everyday and every spot was taken. When I go to complain Rita tells me "she can't sit at the window and tow every car." Thanks management. Then when someone parked in MY SPOT that I pay monthly for and called "management" she said I had to wait until security got there at 9pm to call a tow truck. Btw it was 530pm when I went to the office to complain. #2 There is dog poop EVERYWHERE!!!! #3 my 2year old had asthma issues and was put on an everyday inhaler since we had moved in... Never before has she had these issues. Since moving out in May 2015 she hasn't used an inhaler or a had a breathing treatment. What does that tell you?? #4 When it rains the walkways get flooded so good luck finding a way out without getting water to your ankles. #5 the last few months we were there, there were 2 separate shootings, one man was killed a few doors down from me. #6 All kinds of people are hanging out at night in the parking lot. Rita is rude and won't have the balls to give her face if you have a problem, the apartment I was given was infested with roaches I had to call an exterminator my self a week after I moved in , I couldn't use the dish washer because it was filled with roaches and I had them give me a new stove because the one originally placed in my apt was filled with roaches too it was disgusting and the walls had cracks on them so in the winter it would get extremely cold I wouldn't take my daughter on walks because there was dog poop EVERYWHERE and the residents would always smoke weed so the place would stink really bad , also parking was a nightmare and guest parking was revoked and you would have to pay to park in what was promised "free guest parking " if you have the choice to go else where . . This apartment complex obviously has no respect or care for their residents and will stop at nothing to make your life miserable and difficult. The on site laundry machines leave your clothes dirtier than before you washed them, there is garbage littered all over the premises that often takes several days to have cleaned up, the cops are here constantly serving arrests to the noisy disrespectful tennants that will be your neighbors, there has been gang graffiti that hasn't been cleaned up around here for months... I'm not sure if its just my unit but the water never runs cold. If it does, it runs cold for maybe 10 seconds then immediately turns HOT, like HOT HOT. Oh, and the swimming pool is filthy constantly and was just closed down by the city for safety standards. But all these problems are just the cherries on top of the rude, smug attitudes you will get from the leasing office. Just today they illegally had my vehicle towed from the premises. For NO REASON WHATSOEVER. So thanks to that I'll be spending my day off at the impound lot shelling out $250 to get my car back. Aside from that, there is absolutely no where around here to park. Some nights I'll find myself parking literally 2 miles away from the complex and walking home. This place sucks... Its cheap but you really get what you pay for. If you're considering moving here, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $150 or so at a better complex because you will hate your quality of life here. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! IMPORTANT INFO BELOW FROM PRIOR RESIDENT I lived here for 2 years because we could not afford any other place at the time. We were perfect residents, paid rent on time, rarely complained, never had complaints and kept to ourselves and followed all the rules. The first year was bad, cockroaches everywhere, bed bugs constantly from neighbors, constant chemical cleanings, loud neighbors, drugs in the grass area with the constant smell of weed and teens walking around with guns and fighting. The second year was exactly the same except this time the manager was dead set on evicting us because she had given out personal info about myself and where i lived to other neighbors and i called her out. After that it was all downhill. She told neighbors lies about me and my family and said we were complaining and then multiple times knocked on my door and screamed at me about how i was a horrible tenant and how my neighbors were gonna do something to me because of my constant complaining and that i should "watch out". After that i recieved a notice saying we were no longer allowed to live there and couldnt renew our lease. Which was fine cause we didnt want to anyways! She had no legal reason to kick us out because we followed all the rules and had no complaints. As time went on i talked to many others who experienced the same exact thing as i had. I had also learned and then investigated the many building violations inside and outside of the apartments i lived in during my stay. Rita stilman has multiple cases open on her in court from bad management and illegal activities. She also hit and almost killed 3 children a few years before and is a reason why you will never see her driving to work. Yet she still works where children are present! Look her name up and you will see i am not lying either. I have no reason to lie about this, if you dont believe me you will see yourself, im just trying to prevent this from happening to you. We ended up leaving a week early and even though we only had a week left and left our apartment in the same condition (we got all of our deposit back) we still owed $1000!! The money has no reason behind it and i have called many times to ask and my call os hung up on or forwarded. I tried to even set up payments and within 2 weeks of my lease ending my balance was sent to collections. Is that even legal?! I tried setting up payments but she would disappear or ignore me whenever i tried. Now we no longer have our deposit (she put it towards the balance without my knowledge). Now i have to pay before i can fight it and we dont have the extra money. So like i said before... dont move here and if you do, dont say you werent warned. The Leasing Office Agents Are All Arrogant Once You Sign The Leasing Agreement! They Offer No Solution To Any Problem At All And Once You Bore Them of Asking When Something Will Get Done They Tell You Charlene Is In Charge An She's Just A Bitter Woman Probably Hired To Avoid Any Solution! My steps Were Rotting When I Moved in Instead Of Having Them Fix Before I Moved they waited Til I hurt My Back and It's Documented At Holy Cross of My Injuries but Never Got To Fix My Patio Til a Year Later So I Lived With Puddles in the Raining season and a big hole by the Entrance! After Further Review on Google It was Common For Park Sierra Apt To Have these Tow trucks come in Take a Car Selectively and Leave Cuz What The Tow Guy Insinuated Was That The Ppl That Call Get Money From it!! So I Took Pics Of All The Cars Parked On My Street To Prove This Probably Just Done Selectively and My Car Was Leaving In 20 Min not Like The Ppl That At 530 am Still Had Their Car Stationed on The fire Lane! I Called The Main Office Jason Who Never Has Any Solution And No Ppl Skills Unless He's getting a Lease Signed Or An Insurance Policy Signed Since They All Get Money Out Of That!
