Went to the range today to test my 1911, then after a while, Oly ( the manager) came in and told me…read morethe following, he said I had too much muzzle flip from my 1911 and 1917 .45, well I don't know about that, he treated me like a child, and I had been buying guns from him for 10 years at the old mosquito store, I will never go back there again. He doesn't know I am getting over an elbow and shoulder injury, he said he would stop me from shooting if he saw muzzle flip again on the camera he was watching me from on his computer, well well Oly, muzzle flip, what a farse, of course guns have muzzle flip or rise when shooting, The range fee is too high as well. see here, this is how shot my 1911 https://youtube.com/shorts/fI-BQ3VqmQk?si=gqNAbmF7hpIK2HUN https://youtube.com/shorts/vgi_1s5eZmA?si=pC2-4PoP8lpNqjsb 10 years of knowing him and he treated me like red headed step child. The other guys seem OK. I will shoot at the Ione outdoor range from now on, and I can let my muzzle rise as high as I want, Jeesh

I'm in desperate need of of a downrigger terminator kit. Likely the only place in the whole county…read moreis going to be this shop, so I called them today, 6/7/2025 from 2pm to 2:45pm. No one answers the phone. Eventually, it falls out to a generic voicemail box that does not identify who the owner is. Am I calling the right number? I don't know. I do know I'm not going to waste time driving up there if there's no way to confirm they are either open or not. Customer service starts at the beginning, such as answering the dang phone, and if you can't answer the phone, a message of who it is I called, AKA, business name, your hours of operation and who to dial next since you can't be bothered to answer the line you have listed. People wonder why so many businesses fail, especially up here on the hill. I can tell you why; because they disrespect their customers, can't even answer a phone or have an answering machine inform the caller of the basics, such as who they reached, what the hours of operation are, etc. Amazon it is then, I'll just have to wing it until my idem arrives. MCO's loss.

Sierra - Welcome to the old OfficeMax. Another location of this business is at the Y in South Lake Tahoe and you can tell why when you go inside.

This used to be an OfficeMax. It's a large space and they have a broad selection of stuff but at…read morethe end of the day, there is no specific area in which they specialize. It feels like it's a surplus store. They bought too much of a certain item so it lands here at discount. Is that the case? No idea. It also feels like it's what is needed in this town. Instead of running off to San Francisco or Sacramento, you can find clothes here. There are going to be plenty of other retail outlets doing similar things like Nordstrom Rack over at the old U-Mall. Would have been nice to have had this here in previous years though. It was also a lot of different specialties under one roof. A bit of the jack of all trades, master of none style. Buy shoes, dog food and a bicycle? This is your place. No one is going to want to do that though. Or surprise me...I'd like to see something land in this retail space and thrive for more than a few years at a time. From AI: Sierra Trading Post opening in East Hanover Sierra is known as an off-price retailer specializing in outdoor and activewear apparel, footwear, and gear. They offer a wide range of products at generally lower prices than department and specialty stores, with savings typically ranging from 20-60%. Sierra is part of the TJX Companies, which also owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.

Sierra - Cast iron? Students in Davis are not looking to cook with cast iron pans. Makes sense that this is also in South Lake Tahoe.
