Unacceptable across the board. They showed up over two hours late, and it only went downhill from there. Their equipment wasn't working, which dragged the job out to nearly twice as long as it should have. To make matters worse, they spilled what looked like close to two quarts of oil all over the dirt on the property and made no effort to properly clean it up or take responsibility, instead they tried to conceal it by kicking dirt on it and then left it. That's not tacky its highly inappropriate. Communication was just as bad. We had to chase them down for days to get the report, after clearly written instructions to the company. After raising these concerns, the company promised a follow-up call to take care of things that never happened. Completely blew us off. Then the invoice showed up hundreds higher than expected, pushing close to $1,000, including nearly $400 just for the inspection. For the level of service provided, that pricing is hard to justify. After 21+ years in this business across two states, this is easily one of the worst vendor experiences I've dealt with. Poor execution, poor communication, and zero accountability. Hired for a septic inspection after entering escrow to sell our home. The inspection came back stating the leach pipe was saturated, so the company recommended a recheck/remediation attempt the following week. The younger tech, Lucas I believe, was polite and professional. However, we were told by another technician (older gentleman) that if the leach pipe was saturated and could not be fixed that we would need an entirely new septic system, but we were NEVER told this company does not actually replace septic systems themselves. I assumed they handled full replacements, so we agreed to let them attempt remediation. Three days and $3,000 later, including about $2,500 just for excavation, we were told the issue could not be fixed and we would need a full septic replacement through a completely different company. Had we been told upfront that they do not perform full replacements, we would never have approved the excavation or remediation attempt because now we have to pay another company to excavate all over again. During the "remediation," they also replaced two pipes that did not even need to be replaced since the entire septic system now has to be replaced anyway. It felt like unnecessary work added onto the bill. The yard was also left looking terrible with dirt piles, patches everywhere. Two other septic companies came out afterward and one specifically commented that if their crew left a lawn looking like that, they would "rip them a new one." After paying $3,000 for essentially no resolution, my husband called asking for the yard to at least be cleaned up properly. The older technician told him he would call the following week to schedule a day to come out. Instead, he showed up unannounced on a random day and immediately started digging in the front yard. When I opened the door and politely asked what he was doing and informed him another septic company was on the way, his response was simply, "yeah, so?" Extremely rude and unprofessional after everything that had already happened. At the end of this, we are now paying an additional $15,000 for a full septic replacement on top of the $3,000 already paid to this company, including duplicate excavation costs that could have been avoided with honest communication from the beginning. I'm sure they may be fine for a basic inspection, but I would not trust this company with costly repairs or major septic work. read more

Used Sierra Septic to pump and inspect my mom's septic during the selling process of the house following her death. They were knowledgeable, informative, and easy to work with. Showed up on time and got the job done. The only surprise was that the tank turned out to be a 1500-gallon tank vs the 1000 we were expecting, so it was a little more expensive...which certainly wasn't their fault! LOL read more

I was up front with her when I called that I had never done this before, I didn't know the location of my tank, nor the first clue how to find it. She went above and beyond not only talking me through the process, but even assisting me to locate what I needed to find. There were no hidden fees, and after calling around the price was more than fair. Scheduling was easy, and the work was done fast! They also offered to add something (again I'm new and don't know the actual name of it) so now when we need to drain the tank again, we won't have to pay a fee for them to locate and dig it up. Had a problem with the septic backing up to the house. Dug up to both access holes in the septic tank. Scott pumped, flushed and noticed the outlet pipe was crushed. The reason why the septic was backing up. They fit me in two days later to get the crushed pipe replaced and to add risers to both access holes. Scott was friendly and very knowledgeable. We have dealt with several septic services in the last 35 years but I will share with you now that Scott at Sierra Septic is the only one I will work with! He's very responsive, respectful, honest, trustworthy which is huge when you really have no idea what they could say you need. 1 guy from another company came out without even a pump truck and tried to convince us it was a clogged clean out drain and NEVER even took the lids off the risers which we already dug out. He wanted 450.00 for that alone and tried to tell us he was just trying to help us out. He reminded me of a closer at a car dealership. I told him no thank you, took the lid off and our tank had backed up over the tank lid. That's when I called Scott at Sierra. Almost literally threw away 450.00 and it wouldn't have solved anything! They had pumped my tank before and all I was asking is if I can pay them in 2 increments instead of using trade. I spoke to Cindy. Then she told me, why are you on social security? Insulting me, then she says if I don't pay, and I haven't used them yet, they'll dig up my lids and fill up my septic with shit. What she did was totally uncalled for! I decided to have my tank emptied for the first time since purchasing my home several years ago. I wasn't really knowledgeable about the process but Sierra Septic Service made it very easy and gave me several options (for the emptying / risers I wanted to have installed). I am having an emergency with my septic tank and called a company we used before to get a quote. They quoted me in the $500 range and when I told them I could not afford all of it today and would they take payments they said no. So I continued on my search for some help.
