I came by with my wife to have a watch battery changed. It had been a number of years and the battery had started to corrode. They tried cleaning it, but to no avail. They didn't charge us anything and let us keep the battery. At home we found another watch that needed a battery we could use instead. Back to the store. This time everything worked. We had decided to bring back other jewelry items that needed work. My wife is having her wedding ring re-sized. That went easily and fairly priced. Secondly she has a crucifix that needed a new chain. We looked at several options in white gold. He had great advice on different styles that would meet our needs. He first recommended one option until he checked prices. Gold is indeed getting pricey. He then came up with another option that would work without having to go up to the next larger size we were looking at but would be very expensive. I ordered a necklace on December 31st for my mom for her birthday and they had me pay for it and then forgot to order it. I went to pick it up on the scheduled day and they ordered it (finally on the pick up day). When I went to pick it up yesterday (at their new scheduled date) they said to come back at 5 because it was being worked on. Went back at 5 and they said that it was on backorder and it will be at least a week. I'm still confused as to why they told me to come back if it wasn't even in the store to begin with. Its been almost a month but, because it's not a 10k diamond it's not a priority. They gave me a cheaper version of the necklace and credited my account the difference. I've been a customer there for 20 years and I'm positive that if a bigger commission were involved people would have done their job. read more

Sierra West came very highly recommended from a close personal friend so we decided to check them out. We went there 2 years ago to buy my wife's wedding ring and there has been problem, after problem, after problem. I really understand that...to a certain extent. That's not my issue with them though. Since we bought the ring 2 years ago it has been in the shop 4 times already. My first inclination to not go there was when we already bought the ring and then they told me it would take 2 weeks to get the ring back. It took around 2 months and we are still having major problems with it. The setting has cracked twice already. They sent the ring back to us with stones missing after another visit. Now we are having problems with the diamond itself. It's such a headache. The fact that all the above has happened is deflating, but the most insulting part is how they treat you. They are condescending and they treat you like you are lying about any problems you have. We have called in multiple times to check on the ring and they never have a for sure date to pick it up and just tell us, "Keep calling because we have so many customers to keep track of we might not call you when it's done." Terrible customer service. You can't call me when my ring is done? We called in a few days ago to pick up the ring and they told us the Murray location would be open until 9pm. We rolled up at 6:15pm and they were closing. The manager was walking out and we told him that they told us the Murray location is open until 9pm. He started back peddling a ton and was very defensive about it. Dude, just tell us someone told us the wrong information and you can't open the place because the alarm doesn't allow you to do that. What a clown and just a real runaround. We are looking at taking the ring somewhere else from now on even though we have the warranty through Sierra West. Not worth it to deal with these guys anymore and their terrible service. Hopefully this will make it to them and they will change how they treat their "valued customers." So, so disappointing. read more

We were treated like royalty and they did the most to get us exactly what we wanted within our budget. The turn around time is crazy fast & the front desk staff was so cute. I can't emphasize enough how perfect our experience was, especially after going in to Shane Company who recommend a white sapphire because they couldn't work within our budget, whereas SW was never pushy about our budget and got us a beautiful 1.9 carat solitaire ring for that same budget that Shane Co. just couldn't be bothered with. Eventually I got lucky and found a sales person who was willing to look it up online and order it for me. Their prices are also much more expensive than other ring stores in Provo. I bought my wedding ring here 23 years ago with a so-called lifetime warranty. 13 years ago they fixed it for me when the prongs on the diamond came loose. The prongs on the diamond came loose again. I called and they said they got a new system and so I'm not in it anymore. Apparently their lifetime warranty expires at 23 years. Deceiving dishonest and not helpful, I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more
