The knowledge of a world-class expert like Dave has been immensely helpful to me. He is generous to explain in detail the questions I have had. His extensive experience probably outweighs anyone else in his field. I believe his is an expert's expert. Fortunately, he is honest. My husband and I were looking for a place to get few rings repaired our friend recommended them she said they were great honest and knowledgeable, exactly what we wanted! So we did and it was a wonderful experience soon as we walked in we were greeted by one of the staff and soon after helped by a really nice lady who introduced us to David the owner who ended up helping us a very nice gentleman who took time to answer questions we had and share some knowledge we didn't know and we much appreciated, he made us feel comfortable and not just like a business transaction but someone that cares to help. Where do I even begin to start? I feel like the luckiest gal to have found this place as I wanted to go to the best when it comes to my engagement ring and wedding band. I originally wanted to get my rings soldered so I called and talked to Dave (the owner) and then chose to drop by on a whim to get a feel of the place. First off, this is probably one of the last (if not the last) in Utah County to even consider/want to work with platinum, as it's a very tricky metal to work with. Upon Dave's investigative work (microscope) I realized that my previous jeweler in California pretty much sized my platinum rings the wrong way (yes, there's a wrong and right way to do this), so now there were weak spots in my ring that had to be strengthened and reinforced before even considering to solder them together. Not only did Dave do what he said he was going to do, but he also went ABOVE and BEYOND what he promised. Dave is such a blessing (and a find) in his line of work, as he is one of these people: once he starts to work on something, he will not stop until he finishes it and gets it done right! Dave infused palladium in my platinum engagement ring to reinforce/strengthen the band, cleaned the rings, and soldered my rings together. I can't tell you how happy we were to see my rings in pristine/original/brand new condition! It looks (and feels) brand new as to when I received it MANY years ago and it sparkles like the most brilliant star in the night sky! Dave also gave pointers on what to use to properly clean it and when to come back for regular cleanings/polishing. He is like a long-lost uncle who makes you feel like family. The pricing for his work was excellent and reasonable. Pray to have him never retire as Dave is the best of the best! read more

I previously had a 5 star review because he said he would drop the charge me for resizing the ring in return for a review (the initial resizing, which he previously said was free) I bought my wife unless I left that review. He also made an uncomfortable comment about my wife's weight. read more

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TAKING ANYTHING TO BE REPAIRED AND HUR Took my Invicta in there to have the battery replaced and the Worker that was replacing the battery broke the band. Then after a week of waiting for them to replace the band i got it back and the pin fell out with 5 minutes of leaving the store. Worst customer service the lady I spoke to on the phone said we didn't have to replace the band THEY broke after I mentioned the pin fell out of the band. The jeweler is never there to replace what they have broke. read more

So when my daughter stretched out/bent my serpentine gold necklace, I wondered if it would ever look right. I needed to get the setting on my wedding ring fixed. I went on yelp to search for a jewelry repair shop near me. I read the reviews and decided to go to Hur Jewelers. Dave talked to me about the problem with my ring and told me that the place that fixed my setting the last time didn't finish the setting and that's why it was all rough. I asked if he could fix it or if I needed a new setting. He said he wasn't sure but he would try and that a new setting would cost $170. To my pleasant surprise he was totally able to fix it! I asked him how much I owed him and he said he did it free of charge and for me to just give him a good review and refer my friends to him. I am BEAMING after recently having purchased my wedding ring from Dave at Hur Jewelers! My fiancee and I are just traveling through the area on a trip to the national parks, and decided to stop by Hur on a whim, just for fun. Boy am I glad we did! Dave is the best kind of professional you want to work with as a customer. He doesn't put on any pressure to buy, he's extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and on the personal level he's very patient and friendly. During our first visit, I was excited to see so many gorgeous styles, but a bit saddened that I didn't like how any looked on my hand. Just before we left, I tried on one last ring, and it was THE ring! A beautiful rolling ring (Gucci style, sometimes called a trinity ring or a Russian wedding ring)... the first of its kind I've ever seen. And it fit me perfectly! I was thrilled but still not ready to make the commitment, so we left empty handed and the next afternoon, after thinking about the ring non-stop since leaving the store, I called to tell Dave I was coming back in. When I got there, he already had the ring polished and ready for me. Even so, he STILL spent 30+ minutes answering my questions (it's a big decision, after all!) without any signs of impatience or annoyance. He guided me into making a choice (adding a satin finish) that I'd been considering and am so glad he helped me finally make, because the turnout couldn't have been more "me." Hur Jewelers is for those that actually know about Jewelry. Dave makes his own jewelry and has his own gemstones. My fiancee and I walked in on a recommendation from many people. We knew the kind of ring we wanted, we showed him a picture and he knew exactly what we wanted found what he had made, and let us change the stone out. We got a higher quality ring for hundreds less than the other 27 (yes 27) places we had been. 10/10 would recommend. This place is the best! About 2 and a half years ago, my husband and I were ring shopping. It felt like we went everywhere in Utah valley. We got scared off of a few places because they pressured us too much. When we went to Hur, there was no pressure. Dave just told it to us how it was. He wasn't trying to push us into something we didn't want to do. I was so excited when I found my ring there. He gave it to us for an amazing price, and then threw in my husband's ring for free, which he got to custom design! A year later, for our one year anniversary, my husband wanted to surprise me by adding a band to my ring. We were living in Texas for the summer, so he contacted Dave and he looked up our account and sent us the wedding band. He sent the ring to us in the mail before he had even received the check my husband sent because he knew it was important that my husband have the band on our anniversary. I was totally surprised when my husband re-proposed with the beautiful new band and was thrilled when it fit with my ring perfectly. Ok, fast forward another year. My sister-in-law was getting engaged, so we enthusiastically recommended Hur jeweler. Of course, she found a ring there that she loved. About the same time, I realized that a small diamond had fallen out of the band we had added a year before. So I brought my ring in to find out how much it was going to cost to replace it. While I was in there I mentioned that I had sent my sister-in-law there and Dave replaced the diamond in my ring and soldered the band to the main ring, all for free! Not only did he do that, he polished and shined it, and all in two hours because he didn't want me to have to make another trip back to Orem (we now live in Salt Lake). He called me personally when it was done and it looks just like new! Dave Hur is the best.
