After 5 months of jerking me around, 3 months WITHOUT my extensive medical records, then telling me 4 months after the fact, his expertise doesn't equate to all my issues (most are serious & life-threatening). Nice time to tell me! I'm living on borrowed time & the fear, anxiety, + mental anguish has worsened my emotional/mental state. Listen is a psychiatric counselor/practitioner? I don't believe this. He ruined my holidays with his attitude & false promises, but most of all, he stuck my 2nd leg in the grave, so to say. State/Gov't are looking into this.

Elder Health and Living, Chateau Gardens, and Waterford Grand, are the other top places. But Quail Crest is the place I picked. One thing you want to check, is if the facility has medicare rollover. Which means once the resident runs out of money, will the facility allow the resident to remain? Quail Crest does allow this. Waterford Grand does not. Quail Crest has these individual "houses" where the residents live. And they have a shared "backyard", that all the residents from the different houses can all access. It has a BBQ, easy to walk paths, beautiful gardens, and many plants. And in this shared yard, they can interact with residents from different cottages. The facility very clean, but it doesn't feel like a hospital. They have a lot of activities, and things for the residents to do. We had a few minor bumps in the first few months, but that was during 2020, and they had a lot of staff turnover. But since then, they seem to have have gotten things sorted out. Many of the staff who was working there, were willing to give out their cel phone numbers, so you could call or text, and get updates on how things were going. It is a very expensive facility, so that would be one of the downsides. But when talking about caring for a loved-one, you want the best for them.

I was really looking forward to added support as I knew our journey ahead was going to be challenging. Unfortunately, not even Lumina knows what is meant by palliative care. Each time we had a need, I would contact them and they'd say, "oh we don't do that. But call us we are here to help 24/7." Problem was they could not define what it was they were there to help with. They also kept referring to my mom as being in "hospice" and we are not there yet, that's why we signed up for "Palliative" care. Honestly during the month we worked with them trying to figure out what they could do for us- the only thing I figured out was that they were supposed to keep us from using the ER for services. So at this point "palliative " care must mean, "make sure we keep that person out of the hospital/ER" aka cut costs so they get paid. Very disappointed!

We were promised training if caregivers did not have experience and that never happened. We had completely stoned individuals come in to care for my father and reported it, and nothing was done. RUN do not WALK away from this horrible company; all they care about is collecting from the VA and getting paid. The last thing on their mind was the client. We actively reported them and nothing was done. If you care about your loved one do not use this company, they do not care! This location is Bend Oregon not Eugene but I'm sure they are all the same
