After a major renovation and locking down some more consistent staff, this former pool hall + restaurant concept leaned fully into their more successful sit down arrangement and cleaned up enough to bring in plenty of families plus consistent banquet hall reservations. The only thing holding them back has been consistency. Service has been fine overall, with staff coordinating with each other and making sure things are brought out correctly. An occasional reminder, especially for utensils, water, etc is needed but if you don't like being hovered over, you'll be happy here. As for the food, this is where I find things to fall short of ideal. Their American items are typically quite good with a short wait, but their South Asian/Fusion items can certainly be a hit or miss from night to night. When you're paying almost $20 per plate with add-ons of rice or naan, or possibly even more, you want to be sure the quality stays high. Furthermore, I've noticed that portions have gone down overall which is disappointing in terms of value. From their start to now, it's definitely been an improvement, but it's sad to see certain factors let them down from being one of the best spots around. They are still worth trying though, and their late hours make this a place I would personally recommend trying! read more

Excellent ambiance, food was great we loved the mix platter especially Bihari boti, we ordered Nihari and payya for the winter weather. The service was great. We went around 3pm right before they stop serving halwa puri. Around that time the restaurant was pretty empty. Curries were tasteless, no salt, both had same gravy. Naan was not great either .I asked for spicy and I was told they can't make spicy coz it's already made. We have been going here for a little over a year now. Pretty good Nihari (better than Jimmy's and other Pakistani restaurants in the area). Malai chicken is very succulent and flavorful and not too spicy (which is what my wife and younger son prefer). Their naans and poori parathas are spot on. Service is prompt and courteous. I booked a buffet for 60 people in their dining hall. Only 55 of my guests showed up. After about 40 people took food, food tray were empty (see attached pictures butter chicken and Nihari). I asked the server to fill the tray, as some guests haven't had their food yet. She said food will be filled in 5 minutes.. and nothing ever came. All guests were trying to figure out what's going on.... I asked for Manager, and apparently no manager was available. I have had many banquets at Crystal banquet hall and they are on top of their game, with refilling the food when food tray is half.. On the contrary, this place is a disaster. I called the manager next day, and all he did was argue. This place royally sucks, and I am not returning here. I suggest the same to anyone thinking of doing any event here. The owners are unprofessional, and just interested in playing table tennis, and ripping off people with short changing on the food. Very disappointing. If I could, I would give 0 stars. read more

Desi food is galore! There are very few Desi (Pakistani/Indian/Bengali) restaurants that cater adequately to the people who know what the food is all about. Beyond the presence of various spices in the food, the real Art of bringing them all together to form a masterpiece meal. I've always been a skeptic of Indo-Pak food because for the most part, I'm hardly wowed. This place, however, is on a whole new level of wowness. I mean this place is fresh and clean, and the ambiance is classy. As for the food, the aroma is grandma's kitchen, the taste is AUTHENTIC, and the ingredients are all fresh. Signature Kabob & Grill was recommended to me by a friend who frequently goes there for lunch. I'm constantly in search for good halal restaurants in the area and this one being Pakistani restaurant was a win win. The first few times I opted for takeout from SK & Grill, mainly because I had food picked up for me. Most recently decided to dine in with family and had a good experience with the service. They seated us efficiently and took our orders shortly after. The lady working there is extremely courteous and hospitable. I love parathas so I ordered the bahari kabob roll with paratha which was delicious. I've also tried the chicken kabob rolls, fried rice, chicken tenders and mango lassi which were all quite good. They also occasionally offer complimentary chai which is nice for tea lovers. I like having chai every once in awhile. I like this new restaurant and would recommend to try it out if you appreciate good Pakistani food. read more

Was in a mood for kababs and decided to get the rolls. Got the Chicken Boti Roll in a Naan and Chicken Seekh in a Paratha. Both the Chicken Boti and the Seekh Kabab were cooked well and had good balanced flavor but the salt in the Boti seemed to be on the higher side. Both the rolls were good but they can be great if the rolls had something other than the onions and the creamy sauce, like some lettuce, tomatoes etc. Also if there was a choice of accompanying sauce. One suggestion, if you are ordering a takeaway, you may be better off getting the Kababs separately and make your own rolls with Tortilla's. If that is not an option, go with the Naan option as the Paratha can get a bit more chewy. I placed the order through Yelp/Grub Hub with a scheduled pick-up at 6:00 PM. First of all, let's start with the water, it tasted like filtered urine. There were FLIES flying over our food in an in door restaurant!!!(pics below). The garlic Naan we ordered was cardboard like and overly salty and churnchy to the point where you might as well call it chips. I'm pretty sure they serve grocery store bought frozen Naan. Moving on to the entree: we ordered 2 entrees, the mixed kebab grill and brain masala. The kebabs tasted like they were dipped in salt and then they sprinkled some more salt on top of it. They were dry and the chicken kebab tasted sour (makes me think they serve expired food). The brain masala had tasted raw and undercooked. It had a spungy texture and felt chewy. Moving on to the service: we told the waitress all of the entrees were overly salty and the chicken tasted sour like it had been sitting out. Instead of taking that feedback back to the chef, I believe her exact response was "oh ok" and walked away. And to top off their amazing food and service they automatically charge a gratuity of 18%!!! These people should not be allowed to charge for their food, I'm pretty sure jail food would taste better. The ambiance of this place is great. Upon entering we were promptly greeted and seated. The customer service is amazing. The server was polite and provided prompt service. The food came out quick and was fresh. The Nihari is to die for. It is absolutely delicious. The Karhai was also very yummy. The kebabs were very good too. The serving size is huge. For dessert we had gajjar ka halwa and kheer. Both equally delicious. This is great edition to Plano. We will definitely be back! They are open late and also have a game room/area. SUMMARY: STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT My wife and I visited this restaurant 2 days ago and had the worst restaurant experience of our lives! My wife suffers from a gastrointestinal issue due to which she cannot have very spicy food. At the restaurant, we ordered a biryani after clarifying from the waiter that it won't be spicy. The menu also did not indicate anything about the spice level. Once the biryani came (along with other items), it was WAY too spicy for either of us to eat. Now keep in mind that both I and my wife are desi and we've had biryanis all our lives. We know what is the spice level of a biryani. It's not like we're having biryani for the first time in our lives. Anyway, we asked the manager about it, and he claimed "that's how biryani is made". We told him that the waiter confirmed to us earlier that it won't be spicy, and he didn't care. We also told him that restaurants normally indicate spice level for extremely spicy dishes, and he again said he doesn't need to mention anything in his menu since "that's how biryani is made". We asked him if we can return the biryani and he outright refused and threatened to "call the cops" if we don't pay for it. This completely pissed us off. Instead of realizing the restaurant's mistake of giving us an extremely spicy dish which wasn't meant to be spicy, he's was being totally aggressive and claiming that we are at fault. When a dish isn't properly made, all respectable restaurants admit their issue and offer alternatives such as refunding that item, or making the dish again or providing an alternative, etc. But this guy wasn't willing to admit his mistake at all! Also keep in mind that all of the above occurred within 5 minutes all our food arriving. We had only eaten perhaps 15% of the food we had ordered, at which point we had stopped. So it's not like we ate all the food and then complained about the spice level. Anyway, when the manager threatened to call the police, we stood our ground since we were specifically told earlier that the biryani won't be spicy. We told him that we won't pay for that dish. He then pretended to call the cops, but it was apparent that he did not since we patiently waited 30-40 minutes for the cops to arrive, and nobody came. Ultimately we realized that he may be waiting for us to leave the restaurant without paying the bill, at which point he'll have an actual excuse to call the police. So we called Plano police ourselves to mediate this issue since we didn't feel safe. When the manager realized that we called Plano Police ourselves, he got pissed and said more hurtful things which even the 911 operator heard, who then told us to walk out of the restaurant and wait for an officer to arrive, and not engage with the manager. Ultimately the police came and mediated the issue. And even when the police came, the manager walked out holding the bill in his hand and saying that we left without paying the bill, trying to create a case against us. Ultimately we were told that we don't have to pay the bill, but my wife was banned from returning to this restaurant. Why ? Because we stood our ground. This manager was obviously thinking that we'll give in and pay the bill, and he'll not have to explain his attitude. Long story short, DO NOT COME HERE. The manager here isn't customer friendly AT ALL. Go to some other restaurant where the manager values you as a costumer, treats you and your wife with respect, and doesn't threaten to "call the cops" on you when it's actually their fault. read more

Nice place, food was ok. But the problem is if you go there 2 plus guys without telling you, they charge gratitude 18% and they tax on it. Our bill was around $101.00 and they charge gratitude around $20 on it so final bill before tax was $121.00 plus tax. Note: Most of the American restaurants charge gratitude on 6 to 8 people.
