This place is what I would call a mom-and-pop for so many reasons. There was one worker there who seemed to be the hostess and the server and he was so sweet to us. The food was so amazing and it felt like it was made with love, the Garlic Naan was EXCEPTIONAL, it was crispy yet soft, there wasn't an overwhelming amount of garlic butter on it and then it was very fresh! The place was very chill, when we came there wasn't a lot of people but as time went on, more people came so it probably gets busier at night. We walked in on Saturday at noon and it was very homey and quiet. It is a small family owned business. A lady came out to greet us and asked us if we were dining in or getting take out. She was really sweet and gentle. There are three levels of spiciness. We both got the medium tikka masala and creamy butter chicken. The chicken and veggies were in nice big chunks. The heat was right as well. The order of garlic naan was a nice touch to the meal. Overall, the food was delicious--I personally really enjoyed the butter chicken. It definitely hit the spot. All for around $45 We left full and with plenty of leftovers! It was my friends first time trying Indian food and he loved it. The fish seemed a bit mushy and undercooked in my opinion. I like a more firm fish, but the sauce was still yummy. I ordered pickup from here yesterday and it was some of the worst customer service imaginable. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I see two guys sitting at a table chatting but nobody at the counter or serving. I was there for nearly 10 mins trying to understand where everyone was who works there. After I stood around awkwardly for some time, one of the two men chatting asked if I needed anything. I then asked if he worked there and he said yes. I replied with asking why he chose to ignore me and not greet me when I walked in, especially seeing me stand around looking for someone. He ignored my question and asked what I needed. Clearly I'm there to pick up my food considering I'm standing at the counter. I don't randomly enter a restaurant to hang out by myself....awful people skills. After returning home with my food, it wasn't terrible. It was a bit spicier than I had asked for but flavor was decent. Not the best though. I will never come here again after such an awful experience with their staff though. read more

A fantastic Indian restaurant within the Plano area. The cheese kulcha wasn't as good as I was hoping. What should have been cheesy felt more like a speckling. Perhaps if I had heated it up at home this would have helped. The regular naan is actually pretty damn good. Perhaps I should order garlic naan next time instead of a kulcha. Fluffy with a hearty bread flavor. They accidentally gave me Gobi 65 instead of Chicken 65. It was pretty good, although I would have preferred it crispy, the overall flavor profile was decent. The lamb Bhuna curry may be a new favorite of mine! The sorrel leaves leave this acidic tang that enhances the overall experience, like lemon on a fish. Sooo, I kept searching and found Wild Mirchi and I'm so glad I did!!! I came here once, maybe 6 months ago - randomly found it on Yelp. Had a good experience and I remember that the food was good. I was craving Indian tonight and decided to come back. Unfortunately, the experience was so terrible that I feel obligated to give a heads up to my Yelp community. Food: I got the chicken tikka masala, lamb seekh kabob dish, garlic naan and rice. In all my years of ordering chicken tikka masala I've never seen it look so... red? Did not taste good, and came with a thimble of chicken. The lamb dish was small as well and tasted ok, but both dishes just looked very unappetizing. Service: The restaurant industry is hurting for good employees and this place is no different. We waited 35 minutes for food, and there were only 2 parties in the entire place. The worst part is that our server zealously applied thumb flavor to each dish that she delivered. I'm not at all a germaphobe, but add that to an already mediocre tasting/ visually unappealing plate. I don't ever remember leaving a plate unfinished at any Indian place I've eaten at. But today I got to scratch that off my bucket list. There is a strong Indian community out here in Plano so settle for below average Indian food, I shall not. read more

Servers continuously ask for cash instead of CC and have told us the owner does not give them the tips if it's through CC. And if we provide cash, then they get to keep it. I think that's illegal. Terrible customer service after messing up my order! I placed an order through DoorDash and when I receive the order I was missing 2 naans. I right away called up the restaurant and they claim it's not their fault and they place the correct order indeed. Basically calling us liars. After a lot of back-and-forth They asked us to comeback in person to pick up the missing naan.. This doesn't make any sense because there's a reason I placed DoorDash and not in person pick up order. Didn't know this place existed but wanted Indian and couldn't eat meat. I must say, was thoroughly impressed with the meal that I got. Ordered the paneer butter masala with garlic Naan and shrimp biryani. The sauce was really good for the masala but I wish for what I paid I would've gotten a bigger bowl. On the other hand, the biryani was huge! Even though it was mostly rice you definitely got your money's worth. The sauce they had on the side was very refreshing and lightened up the dish. Much quieter an hour before closing. This is a hole in the wall place with good food. Adequate portions. Spice level 3 has pleasant 'heat' and I still can taste the other flavors. Appearance is tacky and kind of messy with buffet table stored away in a corner, take-away containers etc stored along with it, non-menu items for sale on a table. Service was quick owing to the late hour and everything is as pre-prepared as much as possible. Mango lassi came right out of fridge in cup with lid (i.e. not freshly made) as did the 4 oz bottle of water. Nan tasted fresh, but not right from the tandor fresh. Samosas... uh, not so much. (Same as last visit. Am I a slow learner?) Showing their age. Can't recommend those. Butter chicken was on point. Bollywood TV was on. The dancing cracks me up--seems to be a mix of classical dance combined with herky-jerky movements. This was oddly interspersed with a soap-opera type program with people yelling at each other (please, I can get that at home and it doesn't enhance the dining experience) that didn't seem to be related. I did notice a few insects near the restroom. Pretty off-putting. About time for pest control service. So why 1 star better than last time? Absence of screaming babies. read more

Did you know that Goat means all bone? Yeah, I didn't either. The rice was awesome as before and the service was too. But $14 for some bones and rice? Not a good thing. If no Lamb next time, I'll move to Chicken or Shrimp maybe. The Garlic Naan was good as well. I was craving some family style, authentic Punjabi food and drove all the way to Plano to get sarson ka saag with makke ki roti and rajma! Right after we stepped in, I realized the management had changed! I was hoping they would still have the same menu but they don't!!! I was so disappointed! I am not of Indian heritage, but I spent many years living in the San Francisco Bay Area surrounded by many wonderful Indian friends, so I've had the opportunity to enjoy MUCH good Indian food, both from restaurants and cooked at home. In my opinion, Wild Mirchi Indian Grill is by far THE BEST place in this particular area of town for northern-style food! Every dish I've ever ordered has been wonderfully prepared, never too oily, and seasoned just right - a few of my usual veg favorites include palak paneer, malai kofta, chana masala, and dal makhani. The naan is DELICIOUS - always freshly-baked with a flaky outer crust and a few char spots as expected, and a pillowy-soft interior that's never too chewy or dry. The rice is always perfectly-prepared as well. Note that seasoning levels at Wild Mirchi do tend on the "spicy" side, so if you prefer only a gentle heat in your Indian food then you'd be best to order MILD. I usually order medium for bean and lentil dishes, and mild for all others (though I can speak for veg & bean/lentil only, since I do not eat meat). The atmosphere is not much, being a small storefront in a stripmall, but I always order to-go so this is not an issue for me. The website offers easy online ordering for pickup, and I've found it usually takes no more than 20 minutes for my online order to be ready, no matter the time of day. When I'm craving Indian "comfort food," this is definitely my location of choice in this part of the DFW area! If I were rating this restaurant "all-up" including the dine-in atmosphere, I'd probably give it a 3. But since I only ever order take-out, I'm evaluating it purely on my perception of the quality of the food - in which case a solid 5!! read more

Our new favorite place for Indian in the area!! We were really impressed with what looked from the outside like your usual humble strip-center Indian restaurant, but which inside was SO MUCH MORE!! We were impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the very detailed and varied menu, and the relaxing decor inside. The buffet tables gleamed, and are obviously kept in pristine condition. Steam rise from them as the slots were being filled in preparation for the day's lunch buffet. One of our group got the buffet. He had a nice selection of dishes he had no idea what they were (but I did -- LOL) and allowed me to repeatedly them for my review. The chicken bob came as a patty, and was spiked with obviously freshly ground coriander and browned onions, before being pan fried to crispiness. Saag paneer was smooth, creamy, and nicely spiced, with a punch of chile (they way I like it). Vegetable pakora were made with fresh and frozen vegetables, but had both a nice crispy coating and tender vegetables inside. Chicken tikka masala is all about the balance if tomatoey sauce and spices, and their version was delicious! Of course, basmati rice was tender and flavorful with a few peas scattered on top for color. I got the spicy goat curry, which came to the table bubbling hot, studded with chunks of incredibly tender bone-in goat chunks in a spicy red gravy with TWO fried red chiles on top. OMG I loved this dish!! The peppers are really hot, hotter than then ones you find in Chinese cooking, so if you can't stand the heat, don't eat the peppers. I LOVE the burn, so I ate the peppers, and sat in a capsaicin-induced happy haze for several moments. The goat was so tender it slipped off the bones and melted in my mouth. Absolutely the best goat curry I have had in a long time. Another member of the party got the Chicken Korma, which was hotter than she expected, but still delicious. We were surprised to find whole cashews and raisins in the smooth coconutty gravy, but that unexpected burst of sweetness and texture really elevated this dish. It is THE BEST Chicken Korma I have had in Dallas. Because each dish here is cooked to order, you can specify the level of spice you can handle. If you are chile-averse or unfamiliar with Indian food, do not hesitate to ask to discuss the menu.
