I received an email with my quote about 2 days later and was sent an invoice once confirmed I wanted to purchase. I picked up my cake the day before our celebration and WOW she did amazing!! I didn't expect it so be so detailed and have so much beautiful additions to it. Now for the taste... BEST cake I've ever had. Yes, really! My family was so impressed and some that don't even like cake ended up eating an entire slice (Mom wanted vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream). The frosting was sooo light and soft, I loved that it wasn't overly sweet like most frostings. The cake itself was so moist and flavorful. It was just perfect! I can't rant and rave enough at how impressed on the taste. It was almost too beautiful to eat, but we definitely ate that beauty up! I was the coordinator for a wedding and was scheduled to pick up the cake at 10:15 a.m. I arrived…read morepromptly, but the metal screen door was padlocked and no one appeared to be there. I rang the doorbell, called the number posted on the door, left a voicemail, and sent a text explaining that I was outside for the scheduled wedding-cake pickup. Because I had the wedding florals in my car and needed to keep them in the AC, I repeatedly went between the car and the shop while continuing to ring, call, text, and even knock on the window. I eventually had to leave without the cake. Waiting for a response caused me to arrive at the venue around 11:30 instead of 11:00. The bride's cousin also attempted to reach the bakery numerous times. Neither of us received a response. The bakery ultimately contacted the bride directly, despite having my contact information as the coordinator. The bride then informed us that the bakery had forgotten to make her cake. She had to ask whether they could still make it since the reception was not until 7:00 p.m., and she also had to request delivery because I was already at the venue. The cake was ultimately made and delivered, which I appreciate. However, it had been paid for approximately a month in advance, and the order and scheduled pickup had already been communicated. Forgetting to make a prepaid wedding cake, remaining unreachable during the arranged pickup, and then contacting the bride on her wedding day instead of responding to the coordinator created unnecessary stress and disrupted the wedding-day schedule. Mistakes happen, but the communication and handling of this situation were unacceptable. Based on my experience as the wedding coordinator, I would not use this bakery again or feel comfortable recommending it for an important event.
