I placed an order over a month ago for a suppressor. I have patiently been waiting and then an update came that I needed to add my middle initial on my form. I immediately did so and then continued receiving emails saying my information was incomplete, even though everything else is correct, and the portal confirms this. I emailed and attempted to call two weeks ago and received an automated email saying someone would contact my shortly. After a week, I did not receive a response or any updates. I again emailed and messaged with no responses. I have since been trying to contact anyone from the company but only go to automated messages and no emails back. I would suggest using someone else local that will actually speak to you and update you on your purchase. *I have also already paid for it and because I can't speak to anyone or receive any response, I cannot even cancel it. read more

I ordered two threaded spacers AC114 and upon arrival i noticed 1 of them is defective and not threaded all the way through on the inside and is not usable, this is a new part i ordered from silencer shop. Called silencer shop 4 times wednesday and waited around 45 minutes each time and got hung up on while i was trying to explain what the issue was with the adapter, 1 guy told me that i would get a return shipping label in a email i called back today and i was advised i would have to pay to ship back a defective part that silencer shop sent out to me. Made one purchase through them and it was fairly smooth. Fast forward, I purchased another item in Sep of 2024. We are now going into April and just got denied due to the dumb a$$ NICS system. Applied for a UPIN numerous times now, since the first application was "missing" fingerprints (they were sent electronically with confirmation email). New prints were in and signed for on 15 April. VAF is still showing incomplete. Emailed FBI for status update and was told I needed some added info that silencer shop has. Currently, on hold with silencer shop 40 mins and nothing but elevator music. The kiosks and the silencer shops website make purchasing a silencer as easy as buying a toothbrush from Amazon. The few steps involved are printed through your email. Nothing is fast. Burrying a 35% restocking fee on a fully returned item (one that I never even touched) because your business model is inneficient is not a company that anyone should be doing business with. I can fully appreciate and understand that I made a mistake and returned an item, can fully appreciate that the $200 dollar tax stamp was filed, and I can fully appreciate that it requires time and effort to restock something - but at this rate, there are so many other companies available - I would urge everyone and highly suggest you look elsewhere before ever doing business here again. Do not let their Free Tax stamp or any of the other language trick you. And to make matters worse, the guy on the phone of my last call was a complete a@@h@le from the moment I started talking. Would never come back here just based on his tone ever again. If you've read this far, and are researching your first suppressor, definitely look elsewhere. And to add insult to injury, their support team, after THREE phone call interactions at ZERO moments throughout this entire process, ever mentioned a 35% restocking fee. I am working on my 4th item and have run into problems with it. I also had problems on my first. They said it was because I have a hyphenated last name. This time they said that ATF changed u.s. territories to states, and the problem was on their end, but they can't give an eta on the time to fix the problem. This compounded by the fact that you can never get a hold of them. This morning, I got another mail form them that it's time to certify so I went to my dealer and once again I can't. I bought my suppressor here and the process was easy until it wasn't. they did not communicate and have an internal processing time frame of 20-45 days just to get it out to the ATF. once they ship to your local shop they have no control of when it will be ready and you are left in limbo.. it's faster to do it yourself and EFORM everything within 5 days or less. they make it appear simple and fast but it's not. I placed an order in December. It's February 22 and my silencer is at a gun shop that doesn't have a license to submit the silencer for approval to the ATF. This gun shop is listed on the Silencer Shop's website. Turns out this gun shop has applied for a license (I assume they have, at least that's what I was told). But no one has any idea if and/or when they will get their license. Until they do, my paid for suppressor will sit at the shop and no action will be taken to get it approved. What's really crazy is the Silencer Shop's customer support...First, the only reason I have any idea about the situation is I had to call around and investigate--I wasn't notified about anything. Once I figured out what was going on the only "help" I got was I would get an email when it was ready to process. That's it. I paid over 900 dollars and I would get an email "IF" it is ever ready to be submitted. That's it. They insist there's absolutely nothing they can do. So, I guess if everything goes according to the Silencer Shop's process you'll get what you paid for. But if their process is broke (and the gun shops are obviously part of their process) all you're likely going to get is "sorry, there's nothing we can do". Apparently because the shop doesn't have a license they're not allowed to send it back so I can change the gun shop. I wonder how they sent the suppressor to a gun shop that doesn't have license to handle suppressors? Hmmm, there might be a reasonable explanation for that but I haven't heard it. All the Silencer Shop tells me is there's nothing they can do. You couldn't make this up...I would be happy to follow this up with a positive note. All I need is to get some indication someone at the Silencer Shop actually cares. read more

Went to the shop in Austin and had the guy explain the process to me because I was new to this. Well he conveniently left out the fact that the prices are different from dealer to dealer. He just asked us which dealer we wanted to use to pick up our silencers. He never even mentioned that the prices for the silencer was more than the price quoted to me at the shop because of the dealer we chose. Don't know if this guy was a new employee or what, but he seemed very knowledgeable about the process. Just be sure when you go to the Silencer Shop or shop online that you are aware that the dealers charge different prices and the price is not always what is listed on the Silencer Shop's website. Very misleading, and I hate doing business with people like this and I won't do business with them anymore because of this. read more

Great idea and great service. I have completed both paper and electronic ATF forms in the past. The biggest advantage in using Silencer Shop is the storage and re-use of picture and electronic fingerprints (taken at one of the Silencer Shop kiosks at their affiliated SOT 3 FFLs). The interface with ATF e-forms is a bit slow and clunky, but I attribute this primarily to the fact that the ATF site is slow and clunky. Instructions that appear during Form 1 submission could be improved a bit. E.g., on certification, ATF e-forms now has a CAPTCHA checkbox not mentioned while winding through the Silencer Shop instructions, and upon submission the ATF sends an automatic email saying you must submit fingerprints separately within 10 days (even though Silencer Shop will do this for you automatically). read more

DO NOT BLINDLY TRUST THE REVIEWS! The Short: Use to love Silencer Shop Was given the run around. Told to bad not much else we can do through months of frustration and nothing getting done. Before you give Silencer Shop your money read on different forums and sites about whats going on with this store DO NOT BLINDLY TRUST REVIEWS. If i knew that I would have waited theres plenty of evidence that this eform has been causing lots of issues. If that doesn't convince you call their number and hit that option for existing order customers. Let your phone sit there and you can see later how long it took before the representative answered and hung up. It'll usually be around 2 hours of their system saying 20+ minutes. If you have questions about it, or a problem expect that wait. Same with the chat feature. *** MAY UPDATE*** My dealer called saying the suppressor is back on his system. I watch the computer as the process is going. A big page saying POWERED BY SILENCER SHOP comes up and says waiting for an agent. The process goes fine until it says FAILED TO COMPLETE TAX STAMP. We try a couple more times and fail again. Dealer says you gotta call silencer shop. So I waited 2 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES ONLY TO BE HUNG UP ON. I sent an email demanding a supervisor reached out to me. I'm updating this review so y'all know how a troubled purchase is going. I honestly hope no one ever has to deal with this. ******HEY SILENCER SHOP IM WAITING ON YALL TO CONTACT ME!!!!**** The Long: The experience with Silencer Shop has become an increasingly frustrating one. I purchased my suppressor with this company end of November last year. That's when the company informed me that they were switching all purchases to eFile automatically and boasted that it will take about 90 days to get the approval from the ATF. The new year rolls around and going into April and have heard NOTHING. I had called around February and Silencer Shop was quick to blame the chosen dealer saying it's their fault and that I should reach out to them. When I spoke to the dealer they informed me that other dealers have been having these problems with Silencer Shop as well. Stuck in limbo I decided to wait it out giving Silencer Shop time to get things figured out. April is here and finally on the 14th I'm told to go e certify. IT'S BEEN 5 MONTHS. Had I just done the paper version we would almost be there! Something goes wrong with the system and my suppressor is deleted during the process. Dealer says call Silencer Shop. Calling Silencer shop is an aggravating experience. You have to wait 2 hours on hold or wait for call back which puts you in a different que and can take even longer. The representative says some specialist will get in contact with me in 24 hours to fix it. Then I hear nothing. A week later I reach out to Silencer Shop again through their chat and am told over and over that a specialist team will handle it. Frustrated I call and wait another 2 hours and am given the same response. At this point I just want my money back to be done with this. TOO BAD it's gonna cost you. The other options are file through paper or transfer it to another dealer and restart the process OR wait it out and see if things get fixed. That's what they told me! Where did my money go? I cannot believe what is happening. This USED TO BE THE GOLDEN STANDARD. I'm beyond frustrated and disappointed and I spoke extremely highly of this store as It's local and they had excellent customer service. I honestly hope your experience is better than mine.
