I am working on my 4th item and have run into problems with it. I also had problems on my first. They said it was because I have a hyphenated last name. This time they said that ATF changed u.s. territories to states, and the problem was on their end, but they can't give an eta on the time to fix the problem. This compounded by the fact that you can never get a hold of them. This morning, I got another mail form them that it's time to certify so I went to my dealer and once again I can't. I bought my suppressor here and the process was easy until it wasn't. they did not communicate and have an internal processing time frame of 20-45 days just to get it out to the ATF. once they ship to your local shop they have no control of when it will be ready and you are left in limbo.. it's faster to do it yourself and EFORM everything within 5 days or less. they make it appear simple and fast but it's not. I would not do business with them again. Or you can go to the shop and buy it directly. read more

I placed an order in December. It's February 22 and my silencer is at a gun shop that doesn't have a license to submit the silencer for approval to the ATF. This gun shop is listed on the Silencer Shop's website. Turns out this gun shop has applied for a license (I assume they have, at least that's what I was told). But no one has any idea if and/or when they will get their license. Until they do, my paid for suppressor will sit at the shop and no action will be taken to get it approved. What's really crazy is the Silencer Shop's customer support...First, the only reason I have any idea about the situation is I had to call around and investigate--I wasn't notified about anything. Once I figured out what was going on the only "help" I got was I would get an email when it was ready to process. That's it. I paid over 900 dollars and I would get an email "IF" it is ever ready to be submitted. That's it. They insist there's absolutely nothing they can do. So, I guess if everything goes according to the Silencer Shop's process you'll get what you paid for. But if their process is broke (and the gun shops are obviously part of their process) all you're likely going to get is "sorry, there's nothing we can do". Apparently because the shop doesn't have a license they're not allowed to send it back so I can change the gun shop. I wonder how they sent the suppressor to a gun shop that doesn't have license to handle suppressors? Hmmm, there might be a reasonable explanation for that but I haven't heard it. All the Silencer Shop tells me is there's nothing they can do. You couldn't make this up...I would be happy to follow this up with a positive note. All I need is to get some indication someone at the Silencer Shop actually cares. read more

Went to the shop in Austin and had the guy explain the process to me because I was new to this. Well he conveniently left out the fact that the prices are different from dealer to dealer. He just asked us which dealer we wanted to use to pick up our silencers. He never even mentioned that the prices for the silencer was more than the price quoted to me at the shop because of the dealer we chose. Don't know if this guy was a new employee or what, but he seemed very knowledgeable about the process. Just be sure when you go to the Silencer Shop or shop online that you are aware that the dealers charge different prices and the price is not always what is listed on the Silencer Shop's website. Very misleading, and I hate doing business with people like this and I won't do business with them anymore because of this. read more

I think that if Silencer Shop handles all the paperwork from start to finish as in preparing a trust through the end of the transfers they probably do an acceptable job. I already had a trust when I went to them for two transfers. They screwed up the name of my trust in the efile system and cost me an extra year. Reading is not one of their strengths. They accepted no responsibility for a mistake that was undeniably theirs, and never even offered an apology. They exemplify the worst characteristics of companies that only care about customers' wallets and not the respect and honor that can be built by ethical behavior. If you can afford to waste a lot of months and don't mind dealing with people who will never admit mistakes then Silencer Shop may be for you. Not me. read more

Great idea and great service. I have completed both paper and electronic ATF forms in the past. The biggest advantage in using Silencer Shop is the storage and re-use of picture and electronic fingerprints (taken at one of the Silencer Shop kiosks at their affiliated SOT 3 FFLs). The interface with ATF e-forms is a bit slow and clunky, but I attribute this primarily to the fact that the ATF site is slow and clunky. Instructions that appear during Form 1 submission could be improved a bit. E.g., on certification, ATF e-forms now has a CAPTCHA checkbox not mentioned while winding through the Silencer Shop instructions, and upon submission the ATF sends an automatic email saying you must submit fingerprints separately within 10 days (even though Silencer Shop will do this for you automatically). read more

I purchased my first silencer through Silencer Shop. The purchase process was easy but I wish they were more communicative. When the eForm 3 was submitted, I was not informed. I had to email and ask. They told me I could call the ATF for an update, so I did. It was already accepted. Was never informed the eForm 3 was accepted. Emailed and asked about shipping to my FFL, and was told their shipping department was in the process of moving and backed up. NBD. I emailed the next week to check status. It was delivered the day before. Why was I not informed about the shipment or delivery? Good news, it's with my FFL now and just waiting on the ATF. read more

I have used them on many prior silencer and sbr submittals, without major issues. I work for an SOT and have sold hundreds of suppressors using their system, most without any problems. I do not want to use e-forms, I want paper forms with REAL stamps on them. I started the process mid April. We docusigned on our end on May 20th for 2 suppressors, was told because I wanted paper stamps they were delayed. My dealer didnt get the docusign for a couple weeks. I contacted the NFA branch to see if they had received them in the Middle of June, they had not. I contacted Silencershop in June and was told they were still backed from the "free stamp" event but would get on it. Imagine my surprise when I called the NFA branch today, and they still havent received my paperwork or money. The customer service agent at Silencershop today tells me that they are waiting for my dealer to sign the form. Then comes back and tells me they seem to be having a problem with the docusign email not going to the dealers, but they can efile them for me. I dont want fake stamps. Was told it will take a while but I will have to redocusign. Sorry for the inconvenience, but basically start over. I asked for a manager to call me, but when asked who and when they would call, was told there wasnt an ETA. However I was given the number to call the compliance manager directly. I called. Voicemail. Doesn't there system notify when something is stuck in limbo? They showed in progress on the site. It is only a 2 month delay because I called to check on a stamp that is due any day now. I wouldn't have called on these for at least 6 months. When things go smoothly, they are great and take your money. However when there is a problem, good luck getting a hold of anyone that will give you a good answer or call you back. They still take your money, but they are short on solutions. Still waiting for the manager to call, maybe another 2 to 3 months....... update: they finally sent my packet and check into the ATF. I was notified by email. Not one attempt was made to return my calls. Still waiting. Been 3 weeks. read more

Ordered a Ruger silencer when I saw that it was in stock. Requested a transfer to the local gun dealer. Sure they tell me, we will take care of it. Two weeks later, the silencer is "Out of Stock". Hey wait, you have my money for the silencer and the Tax Stamp. Oh, sorry, we are out of stock. WTF! Now I have to wait longer until you get restocked????!!! Terrible experience. 2 months later and still waiting to be restocked..... This will be my first and last transaction with these guys! read more

I have used silencer shop through my FFL dealer. No problems. I have purchased accessories from them for my existing cans. No problems. Recently, I used them to convert my legally owned, braced firearms into SBRs. I paid their fee for providing the electronic interface. No problem. But here I sit waiting and waiting and waiting for the eForm pages to load. The problem is with the electronic systems used by the AFT staff for approvals. Why in the world does it take so long to get an approval for a Class III item? Oh well I am still waiting... Thank you Silencer Shop for your assistance. The AFT should call the IRS for electronic system advice. I am an actual person not a robot! read more

Horrible company to deal with. After the sale, they simply will not/can not provide service. Not over the phone, not via email, not even via chat. Once you've purchased a silencer there, or a Gun Trust, you are on your own. Your hardware will ship out to an FFL, and then it's up to you to deal with the ATF. Silencer Shop, it you can even get hold of them, will simply say it's out of their hands. No solutions offered, nor advice given. It took them a month to send paperwork to the ATF, and then it took the ATF an additional 9 months to approve an eform tax stamp that was supposed to take 45 days. I got a call from my FFL that my tax stamp was finally complete, and I could go pick up my silencer. No word from ATF to me directly, and checking on Silencer Shop website shows no update on the progress of my tax stamp. The silencer is in my possession now, but Silencer Shop doesn't reflect that. As for the gun trust, it's complicated, seems incomplete, and calls to Silencer Shop go unanswered. Leaving a message (as directed) to get a callback is useless. They NEVER call back. For the second day in a row, I've attempted to start a chat, where "agents are waiting to help." I'm 40 in line, and not moving for the past half hour. Will not use this company again. read more
