    Wedding dress alterations

Jana took in my Brides for a Cause dress and made it fit like a dream! The dress was originally strapless, but I found lace at Mill's End that matched the dress for the most part. Jana created straps that blended in seamlessly. Guests at my wedding said they couldn't tell the straps were bespoke. Everyone at Silhouette was friendly, professional, and easy to coordinate with.

Thank you for the excellent alterations!

These gals did a great job altering my wedding gown. Always ready for me at the time of my appointments, and had my dress ready with plenty of time before the wedding. I highly recommend! And I bought my veil here too. Fair pricing, professional service, and high quality workmanship.

Great prices, turn around and staff. I've had pants worked on and a custom piece made with excellent results. Highly recommend.

I got a bridesmaid dress tailored here at Sunny's Sewing Studio and it turned out great. I needed…read moreto get the bottom hemmed because it was too long. There were three layers to this dress so I feel like it was not a simple task. She had me try on the dress so she could get an exact measurement. Fast turn around time. Very nice!

The seamstress here does a horrific job. She is either highly inexperienced/unskilled or does not…read morecare about the quality of her work. I brought in three tank bras and a brand new silk dress to have the straps shortened. She completely butchered my silk dress (which was not cheap). It's asymmetrical now, with a crooked hem, and lies funny (there's a hump on my upper back). She cut the straps (but not in a symmetrical way) and simply brought the back up higher, so the crooked hem lies awkwardly high on my neck). You can see that she sewed the hem a couple of times and had to take stitching out and redo it, so there are holes in random places in the areas she was working on. Yes, the fabric is probably really difficult to sew, but she could have told me she was not able to do it. Instead she did a botch job, and it's unwearable. As for the bras, she simply sewed a hem across and left the bulky remains, so they are unwearable. When I picked up the items, she said it was too thick to sew down. She did try to sew down the bulk on one but didn't even try for the others. All of them are unwearable, though, because the bulk should have been cut off (would have taken two minutes to do it that way). An inexperienced seamstress would have known how to solve this problem. She must get lots of complaints because she makes you pay for her services up front. I just walked out the door and didn't check her work until I got home, so I had no chance to ask her to fix it. Of course, I'm never going back. Don't bring anything here that you care about. It's not worth it, she'll only make the clothing even more unwearable. She probably expects you to complain and won't do a good job until you ask her to. Don't waste your time.
