I purchased a used upright piano here during a holiday sale. I live a kind of long drive away, so I called ahead to be sure they still had the piano I was interested in in stock. They offered to put the piano I was interested in on hold for me and gave me an appointment to be sure I got a chance to see it during the sale. I thought this was very generous and kind of them to do. I ended up having an opportunity to get to the shop sooner than I had expected, and showed up with no appointment on a weekday. They were very helpful. The shop is great and has a wide assortment of pianos to try. I was not pressured to buy anything, but I made a purchase quickly because I knew what I was looking for. Bought an $8K piano just before the pandemic. It came with 1 free tuning. But because of the pandemic, and lockdowns etc, we couldn't get it done. Now that the restrictions are lifted, I called them for tuning. They said the free service expired since its been over a year since purchase. They were very sincere and even gave us a good tip on how to take care of our piano. I just purchased a piano from them on Monday and couldn't be happier! They were incredibly helpful and not pushy at all. I asked a lot of questions as I was pretty indecisive. Committing to the purchase of a piano was very intimidating for me(although I really really wanted to). They showed me what options were in my price range and basically let me just play the different options that were available for a while which was very helpful. After finishing our call, I called back later to see if they could refer me to another rental place. I called and had my piano tune. The guy walked in and saw that is not Yamaha brand, he started complaint. He said he had a bad day. This piano was no good, etc. During the tuning, he broke one of the string. Wow, he really started whining. After all, he told me that how lucky I am that he has one in his truck. He took one from his trunk and put it on in a minute. Most importantly, he charged me for $150 additional. what a deal!!! I am here not talking about his experience, not about his knowledge of piano, not about the skill to tune my piano. but the way he act and the way he blame me for having that bad brand piano, the way even he broke the string and let me feel that was my fault. read more

They were all nice and helpful, but it turns out that SVPiano had what it took for me to stop shopping and just buy it. The sales person, Phil Young, was very knowledgeable (a piano technician), attentive--without being pushy, responded to what I wanted (even as this changed over time), and ultimately steered me towards a very affordable Ritmuller 48" upright that was more piano--in terms of quality of sound, action/feel, and aesthetics--than the other pianos I was considering. I bought a grand piano for my daughter a few years ago. Upon the purchase, I was given 3 postcards for free tuning for 3 times whenever I feel the piano should be tuned. I mailed the postcard to the store and received no response for weeks. I finally called the store. I was told the postcard was expired in one year. When I asked her Why shall I tune the piano 3 times in 12 months? Then the lady changed her story that the postcard would be expired for 3 years. She said it was on the invoice that I had absolutely no idea if it is true or not. (1) THERE IS NO EXPIRATION DATE ON THE POST CARD (2) I was never told in person the postcard is only valid for 12 months. (3) As a professional courtesy, I believe the store at least should call me upon received the postcard. read more

I have just purchased a Yamaha UX5Bl, a relatively rare, pre-owned piano from SVPiano. My experience with SVP was excellent. I had taken 7 years of piano lessons as a child/teen, and recently have been taking lessons again and wanted to update my childhood piano. They have a very large selection of new and very fine pre-owned pianos. Bessie was very patient with me, and encouraged me to "try out" several models. She was able to explain the differences between various models and brands. She also played the same pieces on various pianos so I could hear the difference in sound.
