Just got in town and tried the Silk Nail Salon. I loved it! I had a gel mani with Vivian and she was great. Calm, good attention to details, welcoming, affordable, clean salon and spa-type music made it a really good experience. She also took the time to gently soak the gel off my nails, which is must better than using a mechanic drill that other salons use. But the best part was the amazing hand and arm massage after the mani. It lasted more than 5 minutes and almost felt asleep on the chair! I will definitely go back. read more

Moved to Dublin a couple of months ago and found this place compliments of yelpers. (thanks guys!!) I have been here every two weeks since then. Vy and Lynda are AMAZING. You walk in and feel like family. Lynda's hand and calf massages are TO DIE FOR!! (I kid you not). I love that they put orange slices in the pedicure basin and offer you tea, water, and coffee while you relax. The prices are great and the end result is pleasing to the eye. Decided to be a walk in on a Sunday. They weren't busy at all. I got a full on some stiletto nails. The guy I got could not do the shape. I had called ahead of time to see if they could do my shape. The girl said yes so I came in. As the guy started doing my nails, he started filing the tips off and I asked him to keep the shape. He got upset and yelled at me. Saying that I don't know anything about nails (I'm a cosmetologist) once I told him he got upset and screamed "then why you come here?!" All the other nails techs and the 2 other clients they had, stopped and stared. I could not believe it. I would not recommend this place. Will definitely not come back. A hidden gem in the Lamps Plus shopping center. The women here are lovely and very sweet and accommodating. I have both walked in and made appointments and they can usually take me right away or during a time I have requested. Found this place on yelp. Everyone recommended making an appointment so I did. They were right on time. The owner worked on me he was very nice. Explained that most of his clients make appointments, they try to accommodate walk-ins but will ask them to come back later if they don't have time which is nice instead of making you wait or rushing your service. It was a very calm, clean, quiet, and relaxing salon. So happy to have found my new go to salon. I got a mani (shellac) and pedi for $50 not including tip. I have paid this much else where, where you get a 3 min quick massage. Not here is was 10+minutes. There pedicure also includes the sea salt scrub, which is my favorite part. I found this place on yelp I usually do my nails in Fremont so I looked out in Dublin because I moved here And I found this spot so when I go in there it looks nice.Then it's me and my sister and brother my sister get shellac and pedi and I get full set and pedi and my brother got a pedi so after all that they do are nails on mine the lady was like you like it natural and I was like ya so she started to cut them and I seem it was very short and I though she was talking about the shape so she finished and it was very big and it did not look good and I was my birthday weekend the nails fell off after a week very cheap quality and there shellac comes off in a week as well don't then the lady says my total I give her 80 and my total was 55 she was trying to take the rest for her tip I was like my change and she gave me 5 dollars back this lady's are very cheap and steal your money read more

Silk Nail Design is a MUST TRY!! I don't treat myself to mani's/pedi's often because I would usually rather save the $$ and paint my nails myself. Since I'm in a couple weddings the next two weekends, I figured I would check out Silk Nail Design since it is just a short walk from my home. I AM SO GLAD I DID. After checking this place out, I think I will treat myself more often! I got a gel mani and gel pedi for $65 and enjoyed over an hour being pampered. The pedi water had lemons in it, they use a sea salt scrub on my legs/feet, they use warm lotion and massaged my legs and feet for what felt like over 10 minutes. They also wrap your legs from the knee down in warm towels for 5 minutes or so. The mani was basic (in a good way), except with the BEST arm and hand massage ever! The owner was working on another customer, but each time she walked past me she smiled and asked if everything was ok, even offering a drink once! Also worth noting, the atmosphere is super relaxing. No TV's. Just classical, mood music. Not sure what it's like on a busy weekend day, but you're sure to enjoy a long treatment if you go on a week day like I did. I will return. Well, where shall I begin. The day of my appt. I called and asked if I could move it up. They said no problem. So I came in at 12pm for my appt. I was told to wait a few minutes, which usually means more than a few minutes. I came in for a silk nail fill (which I was told when I called a few week prior it was $25.00 which was also stated in their brochure I picked up). The owner could tell 15min later that I was getting annoyed since to one doing nails was even close to finishing and has me sit at an empty station. He proceeded to pass the time by talking to me, trust me.. That doesn't work for me since I know all he was doing was stalling. I asked him how much longer was the wait. He proceeded to tell me that someone had come in for a pedicure and ended up bringing two friends and they wanted the nails done too. Otherwise, they would have been on time. First of all, I had an appt and they should have made the person that didn't wait for another girl so I could be seen on time. So then the owner calls a girl over who clearing didn't know how to prep nails for a fill. She kept filing down my nails so much that I had to tell her to STOP! At least 3 times. Then she got up and whispered something to the other owner who was going to do my nails at some point. The other owner came back to pass the time. I told him I stopped going to a salon where they were always late sometimes by 30mins and I was that owners 1st appt of the day. And didn't appreciate my first experience here to be what it has been so far. He assured me that his wife(the other owner, the one would be doing my nails) was in the top 3 best silk nail people in the Bay Area, that she does special techniques when doing silk nail fills. Finally at 12:40 (mind you 40mins after my scheduled time) I was finally called over. I couldn't wait to see what the special technique by one of the top 3 nail people in the Bay Area. The technique was not special, but has been done for my fills before by other nail salons. So nothing new there. Then I had to keep telling her to glue the silk down better because it was sticking up. You can see the unevenness of the nails where when she filed the silk it came off because it wasn't glued down that good. I can't get acrylic or gel nails because I am allergic to the chemicals and bonders. Vy, I believer her name was put some type of binder on, she said to help the silk stick to the glue, which made no sense to me. I told her I was allergic and she said it wouldn't bother me. Well, it fell like it bothered me a bit. Hopefully later on down the line my nails don't lift from my nail bed which is one of my allergic reactions. So it came time to pay, of course she didn't offer any discounts for waiting such a long time(which they never do), but instead she said it was $30.00 for the fill. I said that I was told it was $30.00 and that's what was printed I their brochure. So she said the price went up. Wow up from two weeks prior. So she decided to charge me $25.00 instead. Gee thanks. Needless to say, she does not do the best silk nail fills in the Bay Area. And for striving for the best customer service her husband told me, then why was I stuck waiting for 40mins to get my nails done. Won't be going back there. read more

I've been getting my mani/pedis here for the last year and a half. The owners and staff are so friendly and continue to make sure you are comfortable throughout your visit. The salon is very clean and organized. I normally make an appointment the day before I'd like to come in, and they are very accommodating. They seem to have a strong client base, because whenever I'm there they seem to know all their clients by name when they walk in. I highly recommend this place for pedicures & gel manicures! read more
